  1. There is plenty of room for a savvy marketer to make due with the WFT and WTF cognitive double take. I think WFT should take the NFC East this year.
  2. I want any RB to stand out. Moss did excel as a pass blocker last year. When you are a passing team (did I just say that about Buffalo?) then having a back Josh Allen trusts to block and buy that extra time could be the deciding factor on who gets the bulk of snaps and when. Moss is a good choice. My personal choice is Forrest Lamp. This team needs to settle the interior OL and I was disappointed Buffalo did not draft an interior OL early in the draft. There were OL available at different times that I thought could be plug and play like Creed Humphrey or Wyatt Davis. That said, I like the flyer on Forrest Lamp. I am hopeful he has the type of season at the OG position that D Williams had at RT. On Defense I think S Tariq Thompson has a chance. The S position is thin after the starters with Marlowe gone. Thompson has a chance and I am happy they got him as a UFA.
  3. ^ this the cupboard was getting threadbare at offensive weapons and he knew the system He and Bill Bates should be considered for ST
  4. Can't really argue with either point. Just surprising a city as large as San Diego has only the Padres going for it at a professional level. The Bears are locked into a lease until 2032 or 2033, so probably much ado about nothing. I'm not a big fan of the Lightfoot or the Bears so the comment was funny. I have to give her credit for that.
  5. I was living in PA during the Andy Reid, McNabb/Vick, McCoy and Desean Jackson days. A lot of fun to watch. He was one of the best complete backs in the game his first 5 or 6 years. McCoy and I ended up 'moving' to Western NY about the same time. He lived and died Eagle green, because he grew up in Harrisburg, PA and an Eagles fan. I know he was not happy to be dealt from Philadelphia, but thought he really bought into a team that didn't have much going for it. I'm pretty sure he gave us everything he had and laid low most of the time he was here. It's nice to see league wide known names giving Buffalo a thumbs up in retrospect.
  6. Soldier Field was renovated in 2002 $632 million in 2001-2003 dollars. The Bears are locked into their lease until 2033 and have a sweatheart deal (@$6-7 Million a year lease) From what I read it is among the smallest seating capacity in the league. Someone can verify.
  7. Are you confusing 'Pro Bowls' with 'All Pro' selections? The Pro Bowl is not much more than a popularity contest/ name recognition outcome. Getting drafted in the first round will do that for you. All Pros are much more prestigious and IMO carry more weight. The same types of guys that vote for HOF inductions vote for the All Pro. Tyrod Taylor who has many detractors made a 'Pro Bowl'. Edmunds is a guy who has regressed in pass coverage, is inefficient in pass rush, is not aware enough to recover fumbles, doesn't have the tenacity or technique to force fumbles, and has almost a 10% missed tackle rate for his career (steady 9% + each year) and gets trucked by QBs and WRs. He is a tackle accumulator, a third of them are assists. So was Preston Brown. I think guys down on Tre Edmunds want Darius Leonard or Fred Warner production instead of Preston Brown. With Edmunds' athletic tools and draft position he should be able to accomplish that level of play.
  8. Agreed. The guy was overdrafted with only one season as a starting QB in college. He needed playing time and got it, but was learning on the job in a high pressure market with high expectations. 2:1 TD to INT ratio, 62% completion percentage, 29-21 record is pretty solid. He may never be a guy who 'wows' anyone but his play is right in line with plenty of mid tier starters in the league. If a team does not have a top 10 QB, they could do a lot worse than Trubisky. Landing here, doing a reset and working with Daboll and Allen may be the best thing he could do long term for his career. It was said earlier, but going to a place where he does not need to start, and has a OC who may be a hot HC candidate is a very smart move for the Trubisky camp. Should Daboll move on, he will probably go to a team in transition. If Daboll likes what he sees from Trubisky this season, he could take him with him and give him a second shot at a starting gig. Trubisky would already have a season in his system. One of the few win-win moves for team (Buffalo) and player, though I hope we don't have to see him until game 17, or in some late game action.
  9. Reading half of the thread it's clear that Tre Edmunds is one of the most polarizing players on the team. I am in the don't see it camp. Watch any film review of our MLB, it's generally not pretty. Poor angles, missed tackles (over 9% missed tackles on his career), gets lost in the wash, makes no impact plays. He is a guy who tallies a lot of assisted tackles, dances around in zone defense. I call him 'dancing bear' in pass defense. Looking at his physical abilities, you would think he should be an impact player, but three seasons in he is not. He allowed a 113 pass rating and over 500 yards against last season, his worst of his career. Maybe he was injured, maybe the changes to D-line affected him, but he looked completely lost in pass defense. No impact plays to speak of. People like to point to the goal line tackle, and it was a good play, but the type of play a highly drafted MLB should make. The bar for a guy picked 16th and the 'QB of the Defense' is set very low for this guy for some reason. I hope he pans out to be a play maker, I just don't see it.
  10. Debbie Downer warning: I just don't see it. I like Horrible Harry as a good guy and his personality fits Buffalo perfectly. People keep referring to the end of 2018 or the start of 2019 like he was playing lights out. He was a high energy JAG. Counting on so-so Star coming back fit and ready and playing his best ball or Phillips to recover and play better than ever to fix the 1DT woes is a bit of fools' gold to me. Unfortunately the draft was light on 1T DT and guys like Alim McNeil got drafted higher for it. The draft was weird and fell funny for Buffalo.
  11. Ok, so your argument is that a high pick on a RB is not 'the missing piece' to push this team over the edge next season. I can understand that, I'm not sure many who wanted Etienne or any other 1-2 round RB are necessarily saying that either. You are also correct that in the modern NFL the passing game is the priority. Buffalo has to figure out how to beat KC for the next 5-10 years. Looking at history playing keep away is a way to do that. Pressuring the QB is another way to try to do that, or a combination of both. Singletary and Moss are just guys. They are good complimentary pieces, and you need a lot of those to win a Lombardi. They are not the keep away back who can salt away a game, nor are they dynamic backs who can take a game over in a high scoring affair. I think a stud back takes pressure off of JA, allows more strategic options to McDermott and company, and is complimentary to figuring out how to slow down and beat KC. To me a pick at 28-32 is really a second round pick in value, with the added bonus of controlling a player for a 5th year on a rookie deal. Going DE was aok with me, but there was value to taking Etienne at 30 if he fell there.
  12. What about Emmitt Smith (DAL), Eddie George (TEN) or Jamal Lewis (BAL) just off the top of my head? Maybe I misunderstand your point. Those teams don't win most of those SB without those RBs to control clock and play complimentary football IMO. Sometimes a team needs to change pace in a game or run out clock. Last year the Rams nearly came back against Buffalo because they could not play 'keep away'.
  13. She is a super talented athlete, I love watching her perform.
  14. No, but you do get Christian McCaffrey talent lined up in the backfield with Josh Allen for 5 years. The offense becomes even more explosive and difficult to stop.
  15. My opinion differs with yours. That is cool. I think it's been very clear from day 1 he is not being brought in to QB, but to try TE.
  16. haha that was a typo!! 5 years 200 million is what I meant! LOL 400 is a bit much even for Josh 😄
  17. This might be a sneaky good move by slick old Urban Meyer. Everyone is talking about Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow right now, very little about Trevor Lawrence. This move might be cheap media bait to deflect attention from Lawrence in his rookie offseason?
  18. Too true, it took Levy and Kelly to turn the tables on Don Shula and whoever he put out at QB. That being said the AFC East tends to have lopsided streaks. Unfortunately the Bills have been on the wrong side of a few of them! It would be nice to see that trend turn around.
  19. I'll put a guess down in writing: 5 years, 400 million, 80-90 guaranteed...
  20. wanted to start this thread, but maybe their is a probationary period. Anyway 5/21/96 was a good day for Bills fans. Happy birthday stud. First jersey I bought in 10+ years.
  21. Correct Wade Wilson. Just throwing him Gannon, Deberg as guys who got late career opportunities to start and had a measure of success. Wade Wilson
  22. Agree. Tyrod is a consummate professional. I have nothing but respect for how he handled everything in Buffalo. Too bad you can't put his 'big picture' attitude in some of these other players around the league that have more ability and a 10 cent head. His low key energy helps in locker rooms that are in flux. But it also prevents him from taking the risks he has to take from time to time as a QB. Ironically, he has a nice arm. Dropped some dimes to Watkins and Woods in the day, but was always too afraid to throw the darned ball and cause an INT. He is a good bridge QB. Hoping he gets a late career opportunity like Gannon, Wilson and others have had and let's it rip.
  23. Agree 100%. I would not be surprised to see a slight dip in passing/ receiving yards per game, and a slight increase in rushing yards from the offense this year. I also think the 17 game season keeps more teams alive late in the season, and jockeying for early round playoff seeding, so the 17th game will not necessarily be a throw away.
