  1. Can't really count on compensatory picks as we have found out the last couple of years. We got screwed out of a 3rd rd pick by the NFL just this past draft.
  2. This is certainly possible, but Beane typically likes stability and I've also seen it argued the Douglas could convert to safety at some point.
  3. At CB: The starters are Douglas, Johnson and Benford. Ingram and Lewis are proving to be capable backups at the nickel and dime. Douglas is a UFA after this season, but carries a dead cap in 2025 is already 4.125 and another 1.375 in 2026 and 2027 if not re-signed. The primary backup at boundary corner looks to be Elam. Elam's dead cap if released after this season is 4.356. Johnson is signed through 2027, but there is an out in 2026. Benford is signed through 2025 a very cheap rookie deal. I can see him being extended next off-season. Ingram (27), is also signed through 2025 and is an RFA in 2026. Lewis (also 27) is signed though 2025 as well and then a UFA. So what's the plan? Obviously, Benford, Ingram, Johnson, and Lewis will all return next season. The question is re-sign Douglas and keep Elam as a backup, or let Douglas walk and give Ingram or Elam a shot at the job. My guess is Beane re-signs Douglas for a year and trades Elam for whatever he can get. At Safety Hamlin and Rapp are currently starting and they seem to be doing an adequate job. Bishop and Edwards are now healthy and getting some reps. Edwards has a one year deal and is an UFA after this season. Bishop is signed through 2027 on a rookie deal and is the future at safety. Rapp is signed through 2026 at 3.7 for 2025 and 4 for 2026. Dead cap to move on is only 1.33 in 2025 and 667K in 2026. Hamlin is on the last year of his rookie deal and is a UFA. The only thing I'm certain of here is Bishop will be starter next season. McBeane can clear the rest out if he unimpressed with some or all of the group at minimal cost. Is Rapp's play so far worth 3.7 next season? Would you keep Hamlin? I suspect this will be Edwards only season here. Thoughts?
  4. I feel a turf toe injury is in Bass’ future. Then put him on IR and see what you can add
  5. Given how the teams have played so far this season, the Saints have been the best team. Their net points are 62. No one else is close. Minn is net 28, the Chargers net 35, TB net 21, and the Bills are net 27. Houston in net 8, Sea net 9, and KC net 8. I think Pit being 2-0 (net 15) is a mirage as is Seattle. The Bills, (IMHO), have played the hardest schedule of the 2-0 teams. If I were ranking based on team performance YTD 1. NO 2. Buffalo 3. Minn (they beat SF) 4. Houston 5. KC 6. LAC 7. TB 8. AZ 9. SF 10. Pitt 11. Det 12. Sea
  6. I love the new coach and the team just looks better. Beating UCLA in dominating fashion hopefully is a sign of better things to come.
  7. The Bills have averaged 28 points per game since Brady became OC. Just saying!
  8. I’m from Buffalo (Williamsville actually), graduated from IU, live in the ATL and my wife and kids went to UGA.
  9. This may have happened before, but this is the first time I can remember that UGA, Indiana U, the Bills and the Falcons won the same football weekend.
  10. The truth is Mahomes is in a Tier by himself. Call it the GOAT tier. The Josh is in the next tier down. After Josh there is a whole lot a potential. Burrow has to stay healthy. Lamar has to win in the playoffs. Stroud is in his second season. Love is now hurt and is only a 2nd year starter. Murray can make plays, but is short and can’t stay healthy. Who knows what Herbert’s deal is. I like Baker and maybe he is putting it all together. Stafford is on the back part of his career. Rodgers should be done and Wilson is done. If I were choosing a QB 3 to play for my franchise I’d pick Stroud, Love and then Mayfield. I’m a UGA season ticket holder and the two greatest performances I’ve ever seen in college were Mayfield at Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl against GA and Stroud in the Chik-fil-a Bowl for OSU also against GA. Those two nearly willed their teams to victory. It was amazing to watch. I also respect Burrow, but he can’t stay healthy.
  11. So far this season Derek Carr, Mayfield and Kyler Murray have been staking their claim to being in the top tier of NFL QBs. How's that for a shocker.
  12. Don't forget Josh has the most fantasy points and Hailee Steinfeld.
  13. As we have seen with Geno Smith, Mayfield, Goff, Tannehill, and now Carr and Darnold, sometimes all the QB needs is the right coach and a good O-line. Young is in a terrible situation. Bad coaching, bad line and lousy weapons. I’m no Young fan. He’s no bigger than Stetson Bennett. I doubt he’ll ever be great in the NFL, but he needs to be in a better situation to have any chance of succeeding. I like the idea of Dalton playing out the season. Let Young learn from bench this season and then use next off-season to get him what he needs to succeed.
  14. What was the EPA last season after Brady took over? The Bills are 9-2 since Brady became the OC.
  15. Hard to steal a game from UK when you call 9 penalties on GA for 85 yards and only 4 for 23 yards against Kentucky.
  16. Arizona is dominating LAR so far. Maybe our victory over AZ is better than people realized last week.
  17. Yes, Miami should have never allowed him to re-enter the game in 2022 against us and should have never played against Cincinnati. Players have to realize that teams don't always have their best interest at heart and the Tua situation in 2022 is the clearest example of that. The Fish believe that Tua gives them the best chance to win. Therefore, if cleared, they will play him. It's up to Tua and his family to decide for themselves when and if he plays again. Knowing how guys like Morse, Kyle Okposo, etc.... love to compete, my guess is once Tua is cleared he'll suit up again. Look at the play in which he got hurt. He launched himself head first in Damar. Tua and Tua alone is responsible for this injury. Now it's time for him to deal with the consequences. Miami has a fragile QB, they just invest 230 million in him, have 29 million in cap space, yet the have one of the worst O-lines in the NFL. If Beane was their GM, there is now way on G-d's green earth that he'd allow a big $ fragile QB to play behind such a line. He'd have spent money to fix it. Has Miami's GM received any criticism for his handling of this team?
  18. The OP poster should be banned for bringing this stat to light. Somethings are best not talked about or you are tempting fate.
  19. Personally, I think the Bills should go for it 4-3 or less every time once the pass the opponents 45 yard line. I mean f--- field goals, f--- punts. With Josh and this O-line no excuse not to pick up 3 yards when needed.
  20. What a friggin' nightmare. UK played great and UGA slept through the game. They were lucky to win.
  21. There are many “passing” plays that are essentially long handoffs. Running down their throats is great, but it’s a lot easier if they have to respect the pass and therefore can’t put 8-9 in the box.
  22. Nick Wright is still an idiot.
  23. Here is what I don’t get about the Fish. The Bills dominated their lines on both sides of the ball. The Fish’s issues on the lines aren’t new. While they have 42 mill in dead cap, they still have 29 mill in cap space. Can you imagine Beane allowing crappy lines with a fragile QB and 29 mill in cap space. I can’t. Football, despite all of Miami’s speed, is won in the trenches and the Bills proved that again last night. If the Fish ever want to field a truly good team, they need to spend the money and fix the lines. I’m very thankful for their GM’s incompetence and even more thankful for Beane.
  24. If I have one criticism of the Bills in this game, I’d have liked to see a better gameplan to run out the clock than simply rushing up the middle on nearly every play. Short controlled passing with high completion % is in the playbook and utilized consistently. I’d like to see some of those patterns run late in games like this one as well.
