  1. Food for thought: Since Brady took over as OC in 2003 the Bills are 23-5 with 19 games 30 pts or more including 5 games over 40 points. We have averaged 30.5 pts per game over those 28 regular season games. In 5 playoff games, the Bills have averaged 28.4 pts per game and are 3-2. The only true offensive clunker during his tenure was the Baltimore beatdown last season. Baltimore's destruction of the defense that day took the Bills out of their O game plan as well and team didn't recover. The Bills are 2-0 against Baltimore since scoring 68 points.
  2. I see your point, but I'll respectfully disagree. Yes Brady has coached generational talent in college (Burrow) and the pro (Allen), but he scheme completely different offenses based on the talent in hand. At LSU, Brady had Burrow, Chase and Jefferson. He had Burrow throw the ball all over the place. In Carolina, despite losing McCaffery and having Teddy Bridgewater as a QB, he successfully ran an offense through only 4 other offensive players (RB Davis, WRs Chosen, Moore and Samuel - all 4 had 1000 yards+ from scrimmage). No real TE impact. In Buffalo, he has adjusted again to his personnel, with Josh, deep RB and TE rooms and WR talent in the slot (Shakir and Moore). By the way, Teddy's best season in the NFL was that one season in Carolina with Brady.
  3. I think that is by design and with Josh's approval. It controls the game, limits mistakes, wears down opponents and keeps Josh from getting beat up. It's averaging 31+ pts a game. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  4. Can you imagine the film study right now for our opponents DCs. Do you go heavy to stop the run and leave Josh to pick apart your secondary or have Josh run all over you or do you go to cover 2 and allow the Bills heavy personnel packages open up holes in the D for the running backs or for play action passes to backs and TEs. No wonder coaches and players "hate" Josh.
  5. Dorsey's biggest issue was that he was locked in the feed Diggs scheme. Brady was able to see past that issue and trust the other talent around Josh, especially Cook and Shakir.
  6. Hawes has 4 targets in 4 games. I actually would like to see a little more down field passing, but if teams stay in cover 2, Josh and Brady are content to run the ball, control the clock and wear out the opposing D front.
  7. What do you mean by this? Everyone eats is a cornerstone to GB's offense as well. It basically makes it nearly impossible to defend the Bills successfully. If you stay in cover 2, the Bills run it down your throat. If you move to a base defense, the Bills may still run, but all the TEs and backs can catch and Josh could take off if a seem opens.
  8. Click the link "watch on Youtube" for Cover1's video on how Brady is calling plays.
  9. He actually makes football 11 on 11. Even with an empty set, Josh is still a threat in the running game. That forces defenses to keep a spy on him and even that usually isn't enough. What separates Josh from the rest of the mobile QBs is his raw size and power. He has the speed to run by defenders, but also the power to run them over. No other mobile QB has that ability. You would think the Bills defense would be better against running QBs than they are considering how much they practice against Josh.
  10. Was this the last time the Jets made the playoffs?
  11. I don’t think the Juice is with us any longer. As to long pass plays, Cook has the longest at 52 yards. Palmer and Moore have a 30+ yard catch and Kincaid’s and Hawes longest is nearly 30.
  12. Like I said, you are correct grammatically. However, I have done a ton of genealogy work over the years and have found many family names Anglicized, shortened, altered, spelling changes and some completely made up. In my Dad's case his father adopted the name of the Polish Count who owned his village, but they were given a "sky" at Ellis Island. My great grandfather and his brother came through Ellis Island together, yet somehow ended up with completely different last names.
  13. generally true, but not always. It often depended on the official at Ellis Island registering the name. In my family Smit become Smith and Mindelefsky became Ziff. Have never quite figured out the second one.
  14. How dare you bring facts to a good McD rant. What were you thinking?
  15. Neither? I’d try out Blankenship.
  16. Put a link to the book. A random Bills memory was Marv Bateman’s 78 yard punt.
  17. TMI @BuffaloBill May I kindly suggest you clean out the history and use incognito mode.
  18. That may have been the most complete game IU has played ever.
  19. Did IU play Ill recently? I remember a scrimmage with a team in orange uniforms.
  20. Don’t we have to give Johnson some credit for helping us secure two wins?
  21. ….. said Bobby Knight on David Letterman
  22. I went to Indiana for college. It was more a chair throwing kind of place. Thanks for making me feel so much younger today. You did make me think about my grandfather who owned a dry cleaning plant across from the Rock Pile in the 1940's and my first games during OJ's first pro season.
  23. Actually it sounds like a Bills player from Cheektowaga
  24. My gut reaction to this thread was that given the injuries, the team's 4-0 start and the actual solid performance in the passing game defense, that there is no way Babich on the hot seat. However, I then thought of our old friend Ken Dorsey. Dorsey was fired after week 10 and a 5-5 start by the Bills. The 2023 Bills started 3-1 with the lone loss in OT to the Jets week 1. However, the offense sputtered over the next 6 weeks averaging only 20.5 pts a week. Brady took over and the team won 6 of the next 7 games and won the division. So given the poor rush defense and poor tackling, would McBeane make a DC change despite a 4-0 start? As discussed earlier, much of the rushing yards against (180 - 170 of the yards to mobile QBs Rattler, Fields, Jackson) to mobile QBs. Ultimately, I think Babich's seat will only get hot if the Bills start to lose and with an offense scoring 30+ a game, I don't see that happening.
