  1. Beasley has to take one for the team. He has expressed his feelings about choice, and as a citizen outside of the NFL, that's perfectly fine. Unfortunately, he has a team's fortunes in his hands because of NFL protocols. It becomes a commitment to your teammates and the fans, who pay your salary, issue. It's a privilege to play in the league.
  2. What a very curious move bringing in this pedestrian warm weather punter. Hard to imagine Beane would pass on our vet punter who improved every year for this gentleman. Gagging up field position with this Miami reject is hard to swallow. Beane will never admit an unforced error so early. We better be efficient on both sides of the ball to overcome this weak legged punter.
  3. The problem the Bills have is that there's little quality depth at corner and Wallace has missed time the last few seasons. I like Wallace but he is targeted a lot with Tre on other side. I thought they should have signed Nelson or brought some proven vet in already. I'm sure Beane is aware of this.
  4. Who is Andre Smith and how great did he play last night. Love to see more of him in regular season. Stevenson is going to be a candidate for the final 53. His speed and special teams ability make him valuable. Webb looked far better than his Giants version. His runs on broken plays and IPOs were impressive. Rousseau looks like he could be big contributor. Finally, how about Bass. Best kicker in recent Bills history.
  5. Devin looked like his rookie year. He had a burst and looked more physical after contact. With Moss in year 2 and #22 providing some outside speed and some O-line improvement in run blocking, could be we're setting up an even more explosive offense. Let's keep everyone healthy.
  6. Skip Bayless says controversial nonsense for shock value to get clicks and listeners. He's a fan just like us. Did he like the mindless contract that his boy Dak got? Josh is a freak athlete who has superior leadership skills and is driven to be great. His work ethic is legend and he loves the city and Bills fans. He stands up after losses and takes full responsibility without ever blaming coaches or teammates. He's improved by leaps and bounds every year. His team loves him and he won 2 playoff games in year 3. Feel free to jump on board when you wake up.
  7. How could any rational fan not love this deal. First, it will look better and better compared to the inflated #s after the cap increases. Next, this incredible talent, bent over backwards to give us flexibility to fill holes in the roster with the way the deal is structured. Compared to the atrocity Dak signed, this deal is a godsend. Not to mention Dak is a far cry from our guy.
  8. Naturally the challenges we face won't even be recognized until after the 2nd preseason game and even then optimism reigns supreme. This team will be among the top 4 or 5 teams in football, but getting further than last year will require big time improvement from RBs, TEs, and D-line. Assuming the LBs are improving every year, this could make our defense better and the rookie edge guys with an Epenesa on the upswing will also help. The Bills will not sneak up on any team and we will have to come out of the gates firing. When Josh is your QB and the receiving corp is stacked, scoring shouldn't be a problem.
  9. I'd like to see Stevenson in action. Kumerow is a favorite of Rogers. How bad could he be. He was never given a chance with us. He's talented. We are looking set at receiver. I'll give Knox 4 games to show consistency. No mindless drops or missed blocks resulting in exposing Josh to hard hits.
  10. McKenzie is too versatile to cut. He can return punts and his threat for jetsweeps makes defenses have to protect, making them weaker against the other things we do. Also his inside receiving is depth for Beasley going down. McKenzie at these prices is a steal.
  11. I think you should wait to see them on the field. I hope your right.
  12. Most objective observers would say Josh put the team on his back and won the Indy game singlehandedly. Rivers inexplicably played like he was out of gas on the last drive but your right, the defense was gutty and resilient on the last drive. My final point is that if Star can improve the run defense and the LBs play better against some athletic TEs , we might be better.
  13. You guys that think the same personnel and scheme that got dominated by KC, Tenn, Indy and LA will miraculously be better are just exuberant fans. Now if you said Star and a breakout year from Epenesa will be the difference makers, we can have that conversation. NE had awesome LBS and better DBs in their glory years. I'm as big a fan as anybody but I won't delude myself by saying this front 7, as constituted, will stop good running attacks.
  14. They got pushed around vs KC, Indy, Tenn and LA. They're light in the pants. Star will give them something but big O-lines will have their way with them. Edmunds and Milano are fast and smart but not overly physical. Your assessment is spot on. Beane can bring in Short or someone who gets cut for cap reasons. Hopefully we bring in some girth.
  15. Look at who Tampa surrounds Brady with. Great defense, top running attack and 3 great TEs along with 3 Pro bowl receivers. You want to put it all on Josh and the wideouts with Beasley alienating his teammates. I love your optimism.
  16. I thought Roberts was a home run waiting to happen. How many times did he give great field position in a league where most kickoffs are touchbacks. He returned punts and occasionally lined up as a 5th receiver. He was expensive but such a productive player. He will be missed unless someone steps up.
  17. Good defensive coaches can neutralize a receiver if there aren't quality options. That's where TEs and RBs can help make offenses great. The Bills had Beasley and Davis play really well last year but if the backs and the TE position are below average again , Josh will have his hands full.
  18. I don't want to be the messenger of doom for a team with as much talent as the Bills. The only thing that troubles me is that they did not add the players in FA that will enable them to stop big athletic TEs and superior running attacks. They can't be expected to win shootouts with good teams all the time. Remember Josh was our big running threat in the playoffs. Knox was pedestrian and Diggs and Beasley had career years. I thought we'd address TE and RB in FA. Depth at Dtackle and DB wouldn't hurt. We lost to KC twice and looked overmatched. We had to improve to expect better results. Fans will bristle at criticism of a team that was as good as the Bills were last season, but we have the capspace created by Beane's handiwork to make some key additions. Hopefully we add on.
  19. Odds of a 3peat maybe low, but the Chiefs will be favorites in Vegas to get there. I will try to be as positive as you are. Just have stay healthy and hope for the best.
  20. Wishing and hoping for different outcomes with essentially the same personnel is not the way to go after a championship. Do you think Mahomes,Kelce, Hill, and Clyde will regress after 2 straight SB appearances? Do you think Knox, Wallace, Star, Singletary will have breakout seasons? We need unlikely contributions if different outcomes can occur. Beane has shown a knack for bringing in talent through trade or FA. No reason he can't make us better before opening day. Good players want to play for winning teams.
  21. I respect your measured reaction to my expectations. The reason for my frustration is KC and Tampa can bring back their 2020 starting teams and beat us because our dbs and LBs can't handle talented TEs and we don't play the run well enough. Examples, Rams, KC twice, Titans and Indy with Taylor and their TEs shredding us. Now Star is back and I expect better D-line pressure with the rookies and Epenesa being more impactful, but if you had to forecast the AFC Super Bowl team, KC would be odds on favorite. The NFL changes drastically every year with FA and cap flexibility. With Josh and Diggs having career seasons , there is tremendous pressure on them to repeat their excellence and when you don't bring in quality depth at positions of weakness, getting past a team like KC is unlikely. Sorry to ruffle your feathers.
  22. Until Beane brings in a quality upgrade in the 3 areas of weakness, his offseason is OK, nothing more. DB, TE, D tackle is pedestrian. No one cares who the problem is.Beane is competent and he's got capspace.
  23. I don't see how you can expect more from Josh since he had a career year. Maybe putting the team on his back and finding a way to best KC and Tampa would qualify. As for the rbs, they have to find a way to give us 200yds orunning and receiving ot, to take pressure off of our great passing offense. Between the 3 featured backs, (Moss, Singletary and Breida)
  24. If that's the case, how do you assess this team's chances with the existing roster?
