  1. Yes but sadly it wasn’t just a few knuckleheads in this forum. There were times when much of the fan base wanted McDermott replaced as last as Week 10 of the season after they dropped two close games.
  2. It all happened organically on Twitter and it’s crazy to think how it caught fire to the point that the name became associated with the team:
  3. Remember 7 weeks ago when people wanted to fire McDermott?
  4. I don’t think it’s entirely his choice. My guess is that neither that the Dolphins (and maybe the NFL) just aren’t comfortable with Tua suffering 4 concussions in 4 months. I remember after news broke Tua was back in CP, Chris Nowinski said he was done for the year and that no legitimate head trauma specialist was going to clear him this season. I’m glad that held up, because it seems like for him to play again they really would’ve had to turn a blind eye.
  5. Jimmy Haslam and Cleveland completely screwed over the other 31 NFL teams with the guaranteed money they gave Watson. The problem is, that deal is now precedent. It’s like when someone grossly over-pays for a house in a neighborhood in a high demand area, in most cases that inflates real estate of other homes in the area. The league owners want Watson’s deal to be viewed as an outlier, but the NFLPA, agents, and of course the players won’t see it that way. It appears that guaranteed money is the sticking point with Baltimore and Lamar. You can bet your arse it’s going to be a topic with Joe Burrow this off-season..maybe Justin Herbs too. These contracts will likely determine about the future of QB contracts. Like with Allen a few years back, it’s laughable to think these QB’s are going to take a “hometown discount” and ignore the deal that was given to Watson. Either way the QB contract is going to up. Teams are just going to have to be more comfortable with eating dead cap space if it doesn’t work out. High risk…high reward.
  6. Reading the comments online during the game there was a lot of dread watching the Skylar Thompson Miami offense as though they were anticipating a heart breaking loss. I think getting into the playoffs has helped lift their spirit a bit but there’s still a portion of the fan base that isn’t so sure
  7. People said the same exact thing last season… record 13-3
  8. Taron kind of turned his body when taking on the block which put him in a bad position. The Hendrickson is terrible and a blatant attempt for a leg whip. I’m surprised no one called him on it. Dirty play
  9. He actually has a point…someone should have stepped in. Dion Dawkins, Jon Feliciano and other Bills lineman stood up when defenders too rough with Josh after the whistle. What happened to Foles was bull####. Someone should have pulled him up either from Indy or NYG. With that being said, Saturday is a terrible coach and should not be back next season
  10. To be honest, it makes you re-evaluate what’s really important in life. We get so wrapped up into the Bills and worry about winning a Super Bowl, but yesterday reinforces what’s really important in life
  11. I mostly agree but I think junky need to take into account draft position. So while Dane Jackson might not be a starting caliber CB, a solid depth player is pretty good value for a 7th round pick. You can say the same thing about Hamlin as a 5th rounder. Conversely that’s what makes Boogie kind of a disappointing pick as a 2nd rounder.
  12. I don’t think this ever happened. I guess there’s a chance he suggested it behind closed doors but there were so many leaks back then, that if the story had legs it would’ve made its way into the media. Also if you remember, Rex signed IK Enemkpali for no other reason than to troll Geno and the Jets. Doesn’t exactly sound like a player Rex thought too highly of. Finally in summer 2016, the Bills resigned Tyrod Taylor to an extension and seemingly were behind him as starter. This kind of kills the whole “change of scenery” idea because what would be the point of trading one backup QB for another? More revisionist history from Rex trying to pretend he thought more of Geno than he did
  13. You may be correct. But I think Boogie is a lot like AJ Epinesa. He may be a solid rotational DE but I think that’s his ceiling. That’s fine but you can find solid rotational DE’s much later in the draft after round 2. This is what makes him a disappointing pick IMO
  14. It’s not an egregious pick but like you said, it’s not unreasonable to think that the pick was a disappointment and that we should be seeing better returns
  15. formal definition: ”A street free agent is any unsigned player, who is not on a practice squad, 53-man roster, nor otherwise employed by a football team. These players are available to teams after the main Unrestricted Free Agency, Restricted Free Agency, and Undrafted Free Agency periods are complete. This term is typically reserved for those who are “on the street” during the course of the season and those who have been under contract with an NFL team at some point in their career.” So John Brown or Cole Beasley are street free agents, as was Shaq Lawson who was cut in Week 17 of the 2021 season
  16. You’ve never heard the term “street free agent?”
  17. Has he really been that productive though? Out of all the DE’s on the team, he’s probably the weakest DE defending the edge and he isn’t much better as an edge rusher than any other DE on the team. He’s also been beat out by street free agents like Shaq Lawson and a fellow second-round pick in AJ Epinesa. I think that Boogie is a clear miss as a second round pick. Anytime your 2nd rounder can’t produce better than a street free agent or a UFA off the practice squad, the returns aren’t good.
  18. I didn’t mention Creed Humphrey at all. I just said that when there’s not much drop off between a UFA and a 2nd round DE which leads me to believe it was a bad draft pick. So let me restate the original question - do you think Boogie Basham was a disappointing draft pick?
  19. When was this? A trade for Basham? Or an opportunity to trade down?
  20. I never said they had no clue how to draft. Just that Boogie Basham was a bad pick. Not sure why you feel the need to change the subject. Do you disagree that Boogie has been a disappointment as a second round pick?
  21. I’ve always thought that it was a really bad sign when you make your high round draft picks a healthy scratch - especially at positions of need
  22. It was all a mirage from the start. Odell was planning on playing contenders against each other to get a multi-year deal which wouldn’t prevent him from playing on a prove-it deal. I completely believe he knew he wouldn’t be ready until at least mid-January. Based on his past, it might have been worth it for teams to gamble on a vet minimum deal if he could play a few games before the playoffs to assimilate in the offense and work off the rust. But no one was giving him a multi-year deal if it meant he wasn’t going to be ready until after the playoffs starter. Not even the Giants!
  23. I re-watched the Bills/Bears game the other day and noticed a few nice reps from Kingsley Jonathan against a bad OL. It was impressive to see a guy off the PS flash a bit in his limited opportunities. He was activated because Boogie Basham was injured and there was basically no drop off between an undrafted DE who bounced between PS’s and a 2nd round draft pick. In my opinion, the selection of Boogie Basham pick is looking very underwhelming. I’m pretty sure the idea that like Rosseau, the idea was to give him a “redshirt” season to learn from vets like Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison to get him ready to contribute in year 2. The idea was good but the execution was poor. But after 1 season, Basham was not ready to contribute or to start and the team ended up sinking major assets for another DE in Von Miller. I’m kind of wondering why they selected Basham from the start. Pre-draft one of the things that made him appealing was his ability to be a hybrid DE/DT. He was supposed to be “pro-ready” and not a project like Rosseau. Yet the Bills had him drop a bunch of weight to be a faster edge rusher which never was his forte. Essentially making him a project DE. The returns of the 2nd draft pick is a rotational player who gives you the same production as a replacement level player. I guess there’s a chance he can improve a little bit like AJ Epinesa, but when you have street free agents like Shaq Lawson or undrafted practice squad players like Jonathan outplaying you, it’s hard to feel optimistic that a jump is coming in year 3.
  24. That wasn’t entirely on him. Hill did get past him but Tre was supposed to have some safety help rotating to his side. Hamlin never got there… check it out for yourself at 9:15
  25. The only thing that gives me pause is that Chicago has a pretty bad defensive front. I’d like to see what the Bills OL can do against a better defensive. Hopefully the Chicago game will kickstart them
