Source: Major Bills news coming next week

Glenn seems like the obvious choice. Maybe his foot is finally diagnosed and it can’t be fixed. -
What’s your question for the next person? 1 - First Memory 2 - Favorite Poster and Why 3 - Answer Previous Poster’s Question 4 - Create Question for the next Poster
-
I don't know if this will be well received or not, but I thought we could celebrate the offseason with a little, get to know you game. You answer three questions. The first two questions don't change, the 3rd question is made by the previous poster. Since I'm going first, I'm going first, I'll have to answer my own. 1 (Same for everyone) - First memory as a Bills fan - I think my first really solid memory was the Bills first Superbowl when I was 10. I wasn't really watching it, but knew my father and sister were really into something. I never really paid attention to football before, so it was tough for me to follow. When the kick went wide right, I could see how pissed my dad was, but it still didn't make a lot of sense as to why. There's a splash of memories for the next season and I was hooked and crying when they lost their 3rd Superbowl. 2 (Same for everyone) - Favorite Poster and Why - As much as he can catch an attitude sometimes, I really do appreciate 26Corner. Some give him crap for copy and pasting links, but that can be a job in itself. In a world of ESPN, Twitter, Rotoworld; I can usually catch news here faster than most of those sites cause the man is on it. He's usually so quick that I almost wonder if he's okay if I post something breaking before he does. I don't know what the man does for a living and he refuses to say, but I really do appreciate how much this site is current. 3 (Random Question for myself) - Why did you choose your username - My parents used to joke with me as a kid that they were going to name me Virgil instead of Derek. I think it was a joke my dad made towards my mom when messing with her around boy names. They used it to play at me and it got out at my school. Kids thought they were making fun of me, but I just owned it. It's since become my gamertag and avatar for everything. 4 - (Question for the next poster) - If you could see the Bills do one specific move this offseason, what would it be? And you can't just say QB. If it's that, how and who.

I respectfully disagree. If you look at the back half of Geno’s final college season, he was absolutely shut down. He could barely put up any points. I was a big Geno fan and was shocked to see how much defenses figured him out. That’s the main reason why he fell in the draft
-
There’s clearly something about him that’s turning teams off. His arm strength, speed, and numbers would indicate a first round pick, but he’s not being talked about that way. Like I said before, he kind of reminds me of Geno Smith. Geno lit up the college world until defenses figured him out. Jackson has the legs to keep defenses honest, so it wasn’t as apparent. In the NFL, I think his speed gets neutralized and his skills as a passer will be needed. Basically Tyrod

I don’t know why, but he reminds me a lot of Geno Smith, with legs....

With Cousins, you know what you are getting and I think it’s enough to win in the playoffs. We have the cap space for a front loaded deal and the draft picks to fill other holes would be great. I’m all for a 5 year deal that is more team friendly in the last 2 years. Is he top 10? Maybe 8-10, but he’ll be the best in the AFC East in a few years and that’s what matters.

I’m not saying the Bills are going to move up or predict who they will take. I’m just curious to know what the process and best way to do it is. In post draft interviews, I heard the Bills and Chiefs talked before the draft about a potential trade, depending on how players fell. Will the Bills have preliminary deals with teams going into the draft? Do most teams do that to have their bases covered? If player A is available at pick 7, then we already have the basic structure of a deal with example team. Then it’s just a phone call. Or do most deals happen in the moment? I also wonder when the best time to make the deal is. If you have a certain player you want, then you can’t really make the deal too far in advance, because you don’t know what will happen and who will rise and fall. I think about the RGIII situation, but I think the Redskins were happy with either QB. I find these processes interesting and would love to be behind the scenes to see how they transpire. For me, I think I reach out to teams 1-10, see who’s interested in trading, and if they are looking to go off the value chart or want a kings ransom. Overall, just gauge the trade market and then make decisions in the moment. It’s obviously hard when everyone is trying to bluff their position to create value and you don’t want to lose your guy because you lost a staring contest. Best example is Chicago having to trade up one spot to get Trubisky last year. Yeah, that’s a lot of thoughts in no real order, I know. I love draft prep

Kiper Mock Draft: Josh Allen #1
Virgil replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Baker Mayfield drops that far, I’d be upset if the Bills didn’t trade up to get him. They could keep a first, get Mayfield and still get the DT. I’d consider that a successful draft. I’d do the chiefs trade, jump to 10 by giving them our first this year and first next year. We keep the rest of our picks this year and fill a lot of holes. When we pick 32 next year, we won’t care we traded it away ?? -
Completion % And How It Translates To The Pros
Virgil replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those who run a spread, air raid offenses will have higher percentages as they typically throw to a spot, not guys in motion. It’s why Texas Tech QB’s threw for godly numbers but can’t be an NFL backup -
Jackson reminds me of Geno with legs. Rudolph being in the spread worries me, as that success rarely translates

Jesus. When did we stop being allowed to give our opinion? Almost everyone on here has the same couch level knowledge and yet here we are, talking about it. Clearly, any pessimistic thoughts about this hire aren’t welcome here. I’ll kindly move on from it.

Try copying and pasting the dictionary definition of obvious, you’ll see that’s not the case. I said why I wasn’t a fan. I don’t have a history of complaining just to complain. You do have a history of being fairly critical of my posts for some reason, but I’ll don’t care enough to know why. Keep on keeping on

Even worse then

Not a fan of this at all. What has he done to earn this opportunity? Failed in 4 previous NFL jobs badly. Regardless of talent, what’s he done to show he would succeed with talent? When I think of Alabama, I think Defense and rushing attack. Besides Amari Cooper, I can’t think of a successful NFL QB/WR he’s coached. I’m trusting the process, but I just don’t get the faith he will succeed
