  1. I agree with Mark Cuban on this and have for a while: https://www.businessinsider.com/mark-cuban-nfl-tv-2014-3?r=US&IR=T Over-exposure is not a good thing. Make fans want more.
  2. The idea people don't know what they are signing applies to every mortgage, insurance policy, and marriage.
  3. One more thing I realized at the end of the game. 1993 was the year of the birth of modern free-agency. A play like Steve Young could never exist today. QBs are more up or out in the modern FA approach. The idea of grooming a backup into a starter who blossoms at 31 is laughable today. As much as I can't stand them the last great team of the NFL post FA was the Cowboys. I consider all the trophies, awards, and accolades of the Patriots null and void.
  4. It's funny I watched Thurman for his whole career here and you just forget how unbelievable he was.
  5. When they get to grading round 4 then they you know their ratings are toast. "In round 4 the Bucs reached for... but you never know what holds in the future..." (repeat the same thing in a different way for the entire round)

  7. Yes as assistant to the regional QB. Jeff Tuel lost out on the job to EJ. Fans were in mourning.
  8. Until you're 100% sure you have a franchise QB you should always draft a developmental one with the later picks every 2 or 3 years later. They make a nice backup and I agree with the other poster Barkley is a great #3 QB.
  9. Great pickup and another homerun pickup for the team. Last year's was better, but this is a solid year for us. Beane understands flexibility with the cap and depth like no other.
  10. He's the only person who could show up Fitz in your avatar with a daily display of amazing fashion taste which would lead us to 5 SBs in a row. On a more serious note... yes you're 100% right.
  11. It's not lazy when it's historical. It's lazy to look for reasons outside of the history. He said Brown has been on 3 teams, that's meaningless. The moment you play for another team like the Bills that's 2 so 1 more isn't a big deal. Brown isn't elite, but he's not a scrub and that's what Simms did to justify his argument. That's lazy. Brown has been great on the Bills and he's not 5'8" he's 5'11" just ONE whole inch shorter than Diggs.
  12. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and just remember that he'll be missed. God bless you.
  13. Do you really think if he threw for 4,000 yards, 30 TDs, 18 INTs, 64% completions and our record was 7-9 we wouldn't like him as the QB? We would be looking at the defense, ST, coaching, scheme, and time management. Now some people didn't like him to begin with, I was just more confused, but I trusted the decision at the time. Not liking him at the time is the same as wanting to see him fail. No one wants to see him fail. No one wants a swinging door at QB. I sure want him as the QB of the Bills and succeed in 2020. I can't think of one person who wants him to fail and maybe there are some obscure basement weirdo college football amateur scout who wants to feel vindicated it was the wrong Josh, but that number is less than 5 in the whole planet. We just want the best chance to succeed, I still he think he represents that in 2020 as he is growing as a QB which is evident. I hope he blows the doors off and is the best QB since Jimbo and surpasses him. As a person we couldn't have a better QB. He's exceptionally likeable and easy to root for.
  14. Until he's a consistent guy why does he deserve love over and above the hope he does better this year? Players come and go based on performance. Play well and I'll love you, play ok and I admire you, play poorly and I don't care if you play here ever again.
  15. You guys all underestimate the 13th man (refs) and the 14th man (the league). They have stolen data about teams, they get away with holding constantly, mugging by their CBs, and pick plays and push-offs with their WRs and TEs. They are the only team that's made me want to quit watching football because of the sham. How they can video tape another team and not be ban the owners, coach and Tommy Hero is beyond me.
  16. Total TDs is how they rate you for greatness. I made 2 separate arguments. Total TDs thrown per game is a far better metric to understand if the QB will make it past 26-28 yrs old and still be a good QB. If it's total QBs you're destroying your body. TD % is worthless stat. Sure there are exceptions, but exceptions prove the rule. I'd rather take a guy who threw for 35 TDs with a lower TD % than a guy who threw for 20 with a higher one if the turn-overs are about the same.
  17. Because he wasn't 21st. He's 21st if you're comparing him with Stafford who played 8 games and Bridgewater or Darnold who played 13 games. How many TDs you throw per game was what I was comparing. You've changed the argument because you know I'm right. I never said total TDs. If you throw for less TDs per game your odds of being a good QB go down over time. TD % has no corollary. Another study showed that the stat mostly closely connected to QB success is completion %.
  18. That's why Rob Johnson went to Canton faster than Manning, Farve and Marino because in 1998 he beat them by a landslide in TD per pass ratio. in some cases from 50% to 200% better. In fact he did it again in 1999 and still beat Farve in 2000 for TD%. The only measurement which stack up time and time again are completion %, TDs, YPA, and turnovers.
  19. I hope so, but Kroft is oft-injured and Smith is a waste of roster space. I prefer Croom.
  20. Or we go with the TE with the worst drops in the league and misses blocks as well. It's called hedging.
  21. Those were all catchable balls or drops. We just need an 8'4" burner on the outside with 4.2 speed.
  22. I could see the Raiders going after him. Who is our backup outside WRs? Duke & Foster? If the price is right I can't see him worse Duke. I think he can be an upgrade. We have a strong top 3, hope they don't get hurt, but for costs sake we're better off with Aiyuk in the draft IMO.
  23. No one is ignoring it, it's a different argument. It's ignoring the truth of one statement to make a new criteria for the same argument. He's in the bottom 5 of starters of thrown TDs per game. Fact. Is that because of lack of attempts or lack of completions to get more attempts to throw more touchdowns or because he rushes for those TDs? Again, all legit arguments, but they are different arguments. What you are saying is true. No one disputes it. Why is our statement ignored to acknowledge a new argument? It's apples to apples vs apples to bananas. Still the other things he ranks in the bottom 5 have been ignored: completion rate, fumbles, yard per game passing, etc.. It appears the reason why people are sticking on this argument and ignoring the rest is because it's the easiest to argue around. Why not acknowledge our statement of fact as true but then show why it's not a complete picture? I'm ok with that. The truth remains we were in the bottom 1/3rd of teams on offense. 3 points away from Washington as the worst and 11.5 from Baltimore. Is that the OC, HC, QB? It's a combo IMO.
