  1. I want to win this game. It does the following: Locks the 2 seed. No help from anyone needed. Keeps the momentum going. This team is hot and getting great press/hype - I like it and would like it right into the playoffs. It makes for a better record, 13-3 reflects a very good season. Last years 10-6 would have been much better at 11-5 - and as years go by the explanation of the loss to the Jets is not mentioned - people don't go into that much detail. The Bills are starting an era here and I would like 13-3 to be part of that. Get some of the team records. Helps show what a great regular season it has been. Josh/Diggs. Beat Miami. It is always good to beat Miami. Get and keep the psychological edge. They should remain behind us. Beat Miami with our starters going just the first half. That would be great. Would be nice to see Barkley outplay Tua in the second half.
  2. I think coaching deserved it's own bullet point. It has improved and is now top level. The aggressive 4th down calls. The transition to the exuding confidence, that the team is dictating terms and making the opponent play to keep up. For instance, what a joy it was to see NE have to concede to milking the clock at the end of the first half, coming to the decision that it was too risky to try and pass the ball vs the possibility of giving the ball back to us with some time on the clock. And this was knowing we got the ball to start the second half. Yeah, everyone knew who had the more potent offense- the announcers had to kind of mumble their way through it. If our earlier 4th down decisions had not worked, I believe they would of handled this end of half differently. Excellent early decisions leading to putting the game away early in the 3rd quarter. Hope this top notch level coaching can continue. It's harder to do when the stakes are higher but we've seen the top level coaching for several games now. What a difference between the two NE games! One holding on for dear life and the other wondering when the reserves will come in.
  3. Seems like you're contradicting the rule you are citing. Because if the ball passes over the post with some of it outside the post, it is no good.
  4. Yes, the difference seems pretty pronounced to me. Smoke has played plenty and the offense looks better. We'll see on his return. Secondly, Gabe is not a replacement for Smoke. You're not just losing speed. Like the long pass where Gabe went out of bounds, Collinsworth mentioned how he should have slowed up and let the defender bowl into him for a pass interference. Even if you think Gabe might improve and take a spot you would still need another. I hope they don't feel that is the way to go. I want the continuity on offense. Lots of other places to cut - L Smith, Murphy, Norman, maybe Milano, Butler.
  5. Smoke Brown's value to the team is not captured by looking merely at just his stats. He opens the field for everyone else. I can tell the difference in how teams have to play the Bills when Smoke is out there. The lanes and room for Diggs and Beasley to operate is vastly different. I would like to keep most of the offense intact. That includes Smoke, Mongo, and Williams. It's Beane's job to get this done, didn't say it would be easy.
  6. Cut Brown? Smoke Brown? No way. He elevates this offense. And the continuity would be nice. Cut Norman, Morse, Murphy (technically I guess it is not re-signing him). Keep Addison, maybe jettison Butler. And yes, Dane Jackson has looked good but don't forget Gaines is due back and I thought he would be the starter (while he was healthy of course). Sign: Mongo, Williams, then Milano. It's possible. Draft another D lineman, another O lineman, and maybe a TE or CB for the pipeline. Keep this team rolling.
  7. I agree with you. Knox is improving and it is showing in a longer view. On a side note, it is really advantageous from a long range perspective to develop and play your draft picks. It's how you can sustain good/great teams over a period of time. Also having continuity increases the odds of continued success. You don't go out and try and trade/buy an Ertz over keeping Smoke and Knox.
  8. The ball was placed where he caught the ball. Wallace had contact with the Pitt guy when he intercepted and then went down, so he was down by contact. Josh was down when he starts to slide, so he kind of mistimed it - unless you want to say it was going to be easy for them to pick up the first and the clock would just be continuing to roll the whole time.
  9. Of course we do. You get the lower seeded team and have higher priority for home games. If the 1 seed got upset, would keep home field until the Superbowl.
  10. The 2 seed is a realistic possibility now! Take them down and we're a little less than one game back. And the Steelers will still have the Colts and Browns left. Would love the 2 seed.
  11. I've said it all along the biggest win of the season was the victory over the Pats*. Some may not realize that as a signature win but it was. And it is coming into light how significant that victory is, if the Bills had lost the whole dynamics of the season change. The Bills at 8-4 would have a slim lead over the 7-5 Pats* and still have to play them again (and then would lose the tiebreaker if they lost to them). The wild card would also be tenuous. I agree, lets have the Pats* lose to the Rams and be done with them. And then even root the Pats to beat Miami.
  12. Great response to the 49ers field goal. A TD in the 3rd!
  13. First off, true about that 1st TD drive, I saw that error. But to his defense later in the game he didn't get fooled and stopped the play for a loss. Second, while I agree it looks like some is scheme based, one thing I like is that they are adjusting their scheme to this more aggressive style. Having Klein be a factor in shifting the D philosophy to more attacking is not a bad thing IMO.
  14. If it's an either/or situation than I am inclined to go Klein. Klein has come on, a combination of him getting acclimated and the DC figuring out how to use him. And I like the way the D operates when they use Klein effectively. They have him attack. He has made several TFL and several sacks. While using Klein the D is now aggressive/attacking. There seems to be more turnovers and sacks. IMO, in complementary football if a team has a good offense, an attacking defense is better. The bend don't break 2019 stuff was good for that mediocre offense. It's now time for a more aggressive approach. Klein seems to help.
  15. Actually, I'm hoping maybe someone can start a positivity thread after each win, where negative comments aren't allowed (they permeate most other threads). I would seek that out. After a win I like to rejoice with other like minded fans. Those who don't like it could always just not read it and go to the other threads - yet I doubt some posters would be able to resist and the thread would need monitoring. I really wished we had one after the New England win. As a long time Bills fan, I was ecstatic. Could be the signature and defining win for the Bills - a division winning, changing of the guard type historic win. Yet most of the threads were depressed. What a letdown. And in retrospect that win continues to be significant - they beat the Ravens and AZ.
  16. One example of that was on the offensive pass interference play. At one point the announcer said he thought it hit the ground, and then followed it up with "it doesn't matter". What? The refs didn't review it. It was less than 2 minutes to go. IMO, they should have taken a look. Shades of "let him have it" with the Pats* years ago.
  17. It may help to temper the expectations of some though. Because I don't want to have to rely on the Holiday spirit of some here. They already reluctantly gave out a pass for the last 10 point win. I don't know how many more of those passes they have in 'em.
  18. I agree. A raw pick is developing beautifully. The QB and the OC both deserve credit. I don't think the opinion that Daboll stinks is shared by the league. Teams will inquire.
