Penix officially replaces Kirk Cousins in ATL
FireChans replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
No but he's gotten worse, he has thrown 1 TD to 9 picks in his last 4 games and looks completely immobile out there. You can't say "any intention to get a 1st round QB" then talk about how 6 went in the first 12 picks. They had no guarantee that one of their top prospects would be there at #8. For all we know, Penix was their #3 QB on their board and when he fell, they had to get him. The reports out of ATL was that they completely fell in love with him pre-draft. Ultimately, it's working out for the Falcons. If they don't draft Penix, they have a 37 year old, declining Kirk Cousins under contract, another .500 record, and are poorly positioned to get another QB they may or may not even like in the upcoming draft. Today, they have a top 10 pick at QB who has been sitting and learning the system and hopefully is ready today. The way things played out, imo, strongly supports everything they did. Just like the Packers drafting Love, despite paying Rodgers. Obviously it depends if Penix works out, but they may make a lot of people look silly. -
Penix officially replaces Kirk Cousins in ATL

A shiny new weapon at 8 wouldn't have helped them because Kirk has played terrible.... Prioritizing getting a good QB over more weapons for a bad QB who sucks is literally the best use of resources in the NFL. -
Penix officially replaces Kirk Cousins in ATL

I think it makes perfect sense now. They had a roster ready to compete for the playoffs. Kirk was the best FA QB on the market, but coming off injury. They double-dipped the most important position. This is exactly why you do that. -
Very shocking. I initially was negative on drafting Penix after signing Kirk, but this is exactly why you do it.

Are the Patriots still the NFL team you dislike the most?
FireChans replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wrong wrong wrong wrong. Everything I hated about the Pats with BB and Brady, I hate about the Chiefs (except for our regular season record). There is exactly 1 team from 2001 to 2019 that I rooted for to lose every game they played. Didn't matter who they were playing, when they were playing. I hate watched almost every one of their games. That was NE. Since 2020, there is still exactly 1 team that I root to lose every game. It's the Chiefs. I used to hate the Pats. Now, I nothing the Pats and I hate the Chiefs. -
tbh, if the NFL media could go back and give Josh the MVP last year and Lamar the MVP this year, I think they would

Nah it’s just nothing they want to do. Guys at 26 with $60M in the bank want to get bottle service at eleven with 100s of beautiful girls around them, not go to a hole in the wall dive on Elm Street. The reason the guys who settle down, get married, move on to a new page in their life generally stay in Buffalo. Guys like Fred Jackson. Buffalo has a lot of appeal for a guy like that because it’s the same appeal it has for a lot of fans. The young guys never stick around because there’s not much here for them. Hell, half the guys posting on this board about how great Buffalo is left for one reason or another.

Who has been the 2nd best Bill this season?
FireChans replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brain says Shakir, Dawkins or Brown. Heart says Cook. I know RB’s aren’t important. But there’s something awe inducing when he hits a gap and you just know he’s 1 bad angle or missed tackle away from 6. Big runs have always had a special place in my heart. Probably Stockholm syndrome from 20 years of miserable passing. -
Why hasn't the Samuel signing worked?
FireChans replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is part of it. There’s a weird chemistry/connection issue with Josh and Samuel on those plays. the other part of it is that defenses have nothing to fear from Samuel EXCEPT those quick WR screens. They haven’t done any motion hand offs or pop passes or any much else. If you were a DC, you are telling your guys if there’s numbers on Samuel’s side of the field, watch the quick screen. You’d be right like 90% of the time. the other part is also that explosive ability we saw from him preseason where he touched the ball and was moving half a step faster than everyone else seems to have gone up in smoke with his injury. -
I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
FireChans replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brandon Beane disagreed with this assessment which is why he traded for Cooper immediately. The argument ended when he traded a 3rd round pick in October. There’s no other explanation. -
Man it’s almost like exactly what 26 year olds with money would be interested in. Diggs wasn’t taking a family of 5 to Art Park on a Saturday.
-
Haha what Are folks really surprised that there’s way more for multimillionaire 20 and 30 year old men to do in LA or NYC or Miami than BUFFALO
-
Bills, Chiefs or Eagles will win it all so I break it down to 45% for the Iggles because they just have to make it to the dance and the other 27.5% is split between the Chiefs and Bills.
-
Yes and no. Is it possible that someone else was also at fault for the Diggs’ relationship breaking down? Yes. Is that an excuse to act like a baby and force your way off the team that gave you an extension that they didn’t have to do to keep you happy? No. I long opined that it may not “all” be Diggs. Maybe he had legitimate grievances with the OC, McD or Josh. Maybe he didn’t. But what he could have chose to do is put it behind him and come to work and give it his all. And he did not choose to do that. And that’s 100% on him.

Coach of the year has become the “everyone expects this team/QB to be crappy and they somehow make the playoffs” award. You would need to go undefeated to win COTY at this point if you have a franchise QB. Or take over a team like Dallas next year and win 14 games.

As the OP, I will say that Milano looked better this week than the last two weeks.

Just wait til he complains about talking about hypotheticals...... after he brought up hypotheticals. It's a classic.
-
I’ll also go as far as to the say the Bills maybe are a 3-4 win team with the Raiders QB situation. Lol
-
I think the W/L delta between Josh Allen and not Josh Allen is far greater than the delta between Jordan Love and not Jordan Love. Isn’t Malik Willis undefeated as a starter this year for the Pack? The same Malik Willis that couldn’t complete a pass in Tennessee? Probably the WORST example you could think of. Burrow is a good example of a QB who needs to do everything and has failed. The Bengals are a playoff team with Josh right now imo. And I think very highly of Burrow.
-
I’m not bashing anyone. I don’t think @MJS even took it as bashing. I’m having fun talking about how great Josh Allen is playing. You’re having fun talking about me. We are not the same lmao I guess what I’m trying to say is that the bolded is not longer a perhaps to me. Allen is playing head and shoulders above everyone.
-
I’m not what ifing. im trying to quantify the impact of what Josh does vs what another QB does who by all accounts is playing really good football.
