QB controversy in new england -
Benford isn’t Myles Garrett. The time for waiting for guys to develop around Josh has come and gone. We are in “if not now, when?” time.
-
The Rams added a 32 year old Von Miller who had 9 sacks in 12 games (4 in the playoffs) by trading for him and not needing to pay him big money. Beane got outbid on that front.

Didn’t we turn it over at least 3 times in Denver? Maybe 4? do we think Dorsey’s ***** “everyone run comeback routes offense” was a contributor of that?

Spencer Brown deserves his own thread.

It’s just good business imo. Dawkins is a threat to fall apart at his age. Going into 2025 or 26 with both bookends shaky is a mistake. Then you end up like the Chiefs who have had terrible OT play for 2 seasons despite throwing money and picks desperately trying to fix it asap. (I realize they are threatened to 3peat but their OT’s are still their worst part of their roster) -
Who will get Stefanski’s coffee next season? Remember the over/under thread on how many HC job interviews he gets last year? Lmao
-
You are absolutely gonna get flamed but you are right, Lamar has a really good case because his year has been insane. It doesn’t matter though. Purdy had an incredible statistical season last year and wasn’t close. And Lamar won’t get 3 MVPs before he’s made a Super Bowl. The money is rightly on Josh.

lol I think Myles Garrett is ABSOLUTELY than Miller, Milano, Douglas, Daquan and Bass. And he may cost us the next Elam or Boogie Basham or Cody Ford??? Perish the thought.
-
Hey now, that first round pick could be anything. It could even be Myles Garrett!

I have saved this post if the Bengals do get in, and Burrow starts off 14/14.

Who are some candidates for OC if Brady gets a HC job?

Trestman called the plays IIRC. No to first time playcallers. -

As I said at the time of the extension, I was fine with Brown getting paid as long as they thought he had LT potential. not that I necessarily want him over there either but if Dion departs and we have nothing over there, having Brown over a guy who has no business playing LT is about as good of a succession plan as you can get. The Eagles did that with Peters and Lane Johnson. They gave Johnson big money in part to wait and see what happened with the LT spot. They got lucky that Mailata hit, but they had a backup plan. -
If you could get Garrett for our first and a fourth, you would be stupid to not do it. Legitimately. He’s not just a starting DE, he’s a superstar EDGE and he also isn’t in a contract year. If he does ever get moved, it will be closer to the Mack package (2 1sts, a 3rd and a 6th for Mack, a 2nd and a 7th), than a Montez Sweat package (2nd round pick).

60 year old retreads are at an all time low around the league. 10 years ago, Spags would have gotten a shot again. The days of bums like Fisher or Mularkey getting their ninth shot are over. -
I’d like to trade for Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, but I’m thinking I wouldn’t go higher than a 4th.

If you want continuity, you hire a guy who has failed at HC already. Thats how the Chiefs kept Spags. That’s how the Pats kept McDaniels. -
It would start at two 1’s probably.

The Bills need to hire a former failed offensive HC so they don’t have to worry about them getting poached. -
Can we put this on my tombstone?

Good post. i didn’t really read it, but i agree.

You can look at the Bills defensive stats per drive and red zone% for answers to all your questions. They are 11th in points allowed but 16th in points per drive. They are also 26th in yards per drive, 24th in plays allowed per drive, and 25th in time allowed per drive. Fifth in starting field position. They are 17th in red zone percentage. They are first in TO% and 23rd in score%. They are 29th in first downs allowed. The numbers are clear. Teams can and do convert on them and drive on them, (not always needing to get to third down, because again, 29th in first downs) but they stiffen up a bit in the RZ to a closer to average defense. Their raw numbers are beneficiaries from taking the ball away the best in the NFL. If they keep up the takeaways like they have been, they are average to below average. If the TOs dry up, they will just be bad. It's very interesting because going back to the last 6 years, the team with the most takeaways in the NFL ranked (in points per drive): 1st 4th 4th 5th 3rd 1st We have to force the most TO's in the NFL to maintain being smack dab league average at that stat.

It's not what the hive mind has convinced themselves of. It's the way it is. It should go to a skill position player because their opportunity for MVP is completely limited. They could just go full hockey and call it "Best QB" and "best skill position player" awards. They don't but that's effectively how it goes and imo it should be that way. I don't think it's appropriate for a QB to win both MVP and OPOY.
