Someone made the point on WGR that even going back to his Carolina days, McDermott has always just had a "get by" guy at CB2. It's strange, but there's enough proof in the pudding at this point that we shouldn't expect significant investment in the position. It's puzzling, because you feel like it would make a big difference, but McDermott seems to want to coach 'em up and strongly believes in his ability to do so. We have gone into every season under McDermott with low numbers at CB and a "Yikes" scenario if White goes down. At this point, it seems that it's a fact of life with this regime.

Lotulelei and Phillips will be fine this year. That's a plug and play position that will be easy to fill next year if necessary. Not a need.

To everyone rolling their eyes at me... the Bills have a slow offense. Slow backfield and no speed at WR. McKenzie isn't fast; he's somewhat quick. What is your solution??? This need seems so obvious and makes such a huge difference.

Well. Despite McD and Beane saying they need to add speed on offense to compete with the Chiefs, it appears they are out of options. In fact, speed on offense only got worse by replacing Brown with Sanders. Unbelievable

McDermott has consistently gone light on CBs and seems confident in his ability to coach them up. It's frustrating, but it seems to be a reality of this regime.
