  1. Yes, he was asked to give an update on Star and expectations for him, and he replied only with "Unfortunately, Star isn't here." Implications were clear.
  2. A lot of people have asked, and a lot of people are probably eager to be defensive about it. I didn't mean it to be inflammatory. I think it's a factual statement. Look at the polling on which groups are least likely to get the vaccine, and then think about the characteristics of many of the players McBeane bring in. Obviously not all members of a given group will behave in the same manner as the majority of the group overall, but trends are trends and are not meaningless. That's as specific as I'll get.
  3. They play two different positions. Star is the only potentially legit 1T option we have, and he probably knows it. McDermott shouldn't be surprised that he finds himself "concerned" about meeting vaccination thresholds. The types of people he's seemed to tend to bring in during his tenure are also the ones most likely to have vaccine hesitancy.
  4. I hope the Patriots do trade for him. It would be a big waste of money.
  5. I'm trying to figure out why it's not surprising to me that Sanders and Diggs are among the small number of players not to attend. Why does that seem unsurprising?
  6. With reports that multiple teams have 70-80 players reporting for Phase Two, why are there no reports about the Bills? Are players staying away? Is Josh in town? Call me crazy but if Josh is not here, I think it's telling with regard to his likelihood to seek maximum value on his contract. It's not directly contract related, but it would show a propensity to side with the union/players over the team.
  7. I think it's kind of silly for anyone to have strong opinions on Wade one way or the other. The fact is we haven't seen him for 2 years and have no way of knowing how far he's come or not. However, the fact that Beane doesn't mention him when discussing his stable of backs is probably pretty telling.
  8. Gotcha. I've actually still never heard that for highways or whatnot until I started listening to Buffalo radio. Here, I-68 is 68, Route 40 is 40, Route 219 is 219, but in Buffalo it would probably be the I-68, the 40, and the 219 I kind of like it
  9. I'm excited to be in OP for the home opener against the Packers. 😁
  10. Listening to a lot of Buffalo radio, I've noticed folks saying "the" prior to road names. That is entirely foreign here in Maryland. It seems to be almost universal in the Buffalo area though!
  11. We joke about this, but weight gain from looking at or smelling desirable food may actually be possible due to cephalic-phase insulin release. "Marc David, a consultant in nutritional psychology, states that people on diets often fantasize about the foods they can’t eat. Due to this, insulin production is increased, and since the people are not eating their forbidden foods, the insulin is then stored as fat. David calls this 'non-caloric weight gain', when your body is in a phase of cephalic insulin response and produces insulin when it is not needed."
  12. I'm not sure what it's called. I've heard it referred to as cup and char. The potato salad is very good. I remember wanting to eat it and not caring about the beef on weck.
  13. Mulberry is pretty good -- you'll pay a bit but it's a good experience. They have an extremely large meatball that's fun to share, and your fork will just glide through the homemade lasagna.
  14. Schwabl's actually served the worst beef on weck I've ever had. It was served cold and dry. This might get some hate here, but beef on weck is truly not much to write home about. But as long as you don't have high expectations, it can be really good. I've tried Schwabl's, Charlie the Butcher, Duff's, a place in the Falls I can't remember, and two places in Buffalo I can't remember, and Duff's is actually the best and most consistent (I've had it there five or so times). Duff's Char-BQ wings are the best wings I've ever had. The best. Otherwise, the truth is that wings are pretty much the same everywhere. Yes, Buffalo wings started in Buffalo, but Buffalo no longer holds some kind of secret to good wings. Don't expect anything different than you'd get elsewhere in the country. Ted's hot dogs are meh. You can do much better grilling at home. They don't have the charred flavor you'd expect from the advertising. And the "cheese fries" is a cup of frozen fries with generic yellow cheese sauce for dipping, like you'd get at a county fair or something. Buffalo-style pizza is kind of in between New York and Chicago. It's a thicker crust but not like a buttery deep dish. It's a style you have to have a taste for. The pepperoni is GREAT though. I wish they'd do that style of pepperoni on a New York-style crust. Mighty Taco is enjoyable.
  15. Josh Allen literally said he gets too keyed up. And the proof is in the pudding. So... unsure what your issue is. It's definitely not just me. How many other people in this thread brought up Josh's play? My post was very reasonable, but some people react negatively any time psychology is brought up. They also tend to react negatively to realism when it doesn't paint a rosy picture. And yes, I made an ill-advised post once, a post that, I suppose, forever invalidates anything else I ever say. What a thing.
  16. I thought I remembered that they went 100% away from paper tickets in recent years. Yet, when I ordered tickets on Ticketmaster last night, I was able to select to have paper tickets mailed to me.
  17. This will garner negative reactions, but the truth often does. Josh has struggled in the past with being too keyed up in front of home fans. Not only is this obvious, but he has also said so publicly. It is a legitimate concern for this season, so I hope he's taken action in the offseason to improve in the psychological areas as much as in the physical areas of his game.
  18. Yeah, but he hasn't played nearly as well Meanwhile, with one more bad performance by Allen vs. KC, it would be fair to speculate that KC is in Allen's head.
  19. Uh, the Patriots are the only team in the NFL playing three teams coming off a bye. The Bills play zero. I don't think the schedule makers did NE any favors.
  20. Yeah, somehow it's not surprising that the Bills are the only conference championship participant to not have five primetime games. And only one at home is pretty frustrating.
  21. They don't. This is certainly not evidence that they do.
