  1. 😂 it’s not necessarily wrong, but the panthers should be better this year, they looked like they had some direction by the end of last year. The Bills SHOULD steam roll them, but you know how easy it is for teams to look past one they know they are better than.
  2. He was great while he was here, but the last year wasn’t and he was outright washed for Miami. Sorry, but no dice on a come back
  3. 100% they do and I think the Garrett contract is questionable too. Cleveland is the last team I’d look to if I’m trying to judge intelligent contracts lol. Nonetheless, at 30 to give him a deal that massive, all guaranteed and hope he has 4 more great years before time catches up? Thats no small task, these are MASSIVE men, doing things our bodies aren’t really designed to do, it’s not typical to see guys perform at a high level for much past 32. Are there exceptions? Sure. Would I bet on it with my own money? No thank you. Cleveland really had to keep Garrett happy to save face. Hendrickson, for as good as he’s been, is not a star. To pay the 4th most popular player and the gap from 3rd to 4th being massive in terms of recognition, that much money, you need to be sure he’s worth it. With age being a real concern and not enough star power to justify the move initially and take the risk on lower production, it’s probably not a good investment for the Bengals. For a team that’s on the cusp and thinks an elite pass rusher puts them over the top THIS YEAR, sure take the risk, think of Miller to the Bills. If you win a SB nobody is going to argue, or at very least if you get close, it’s acceptable. The Bengals D really can’t be that much worse without him, they have gone all in on Burrow being able to lead the charge. In their case, I think they would be better served to get what they can get and move on. Should have done it before the draft, but maybe they thought they were going to be able to do something with him.
  4. I hate to say it, but I side w the team on this, he wants a lot, he’s older and you are paying more for past performance than you expect to get in the future. It’s tough, but how many more years do you really expect from him? Maybe 2 at that level?
  5. I don’t think Bishop was really reach, I was not a fan of the draft strategy at all last year, Cooper Dejean would have been pick 1 and a WR #2 if I were running the show, probably still could have had Coleman in all reality. I think Bishop was drafted around where he was projected/should have gone. The way the Safety position was handled at large? Awful. They went into last year with one guy who is a quality back up (Rapp) as the clear best starter in the room and then drafted Bishop who basically plays the same role, signed Edwards for the sake of spending money I guess, but again wanting a back up as a potential contributor and left camp with Rapp and Hamlin, who isn’t even quality depth as the starters. It was worse than assuming Gabe Davis was your #2 and having nobody else on the roster below him at WR they pulled the year before. Credit where credit is due, in my opinion, this is the absolute best draft Beane has ever had. He drafted to the strength of the draft, picked up guys that looked to be much higher value than where he got them, he restocked the shelves of a defense that needed a major overhaul and really set the team up to free up a lot of cap space over the next 2 years if the draft class performs. I’m not saying he picked all the right guys, but I am saying he retooled a WEAK secondary, restocked the DL, opened up the opportunity to cut Knox, let Edwards walk, and potentially move on from Oliver’s contract as well as possibly plugged the hole at 1T, again depending on how the guys perform. If he picked the right guys, this will be the best draft he’s ever had, aside from the obvious of picking Allen.
  6. Says the whole NFL, who bid his deal all the way up to just over vet min… but I’m sure the all knowing, fearless leader or TBD knows more from seeing a couple of YouTube highlights.
  7. Yeah, he showed so much he was available for just over vet min, I know if hopium season and everyone thinks McD can make an all pro out of any Joe, but let’s be real here, Hyde a valuable player in GB, they had him all over the field and he did everything. Poyer is the ONLY guy who has been brought in that really went from nothing to stud. I’m not saying Forest can’t do it, I’m saying this is a lot like relying on Gabe Davis being your #2 when he’s never played close to that level.
  8. Unless they worry about him getting snatched and keep him on the roster. He sure sounds intriguing. Let’s not forget Puka was a 5th rd guy.
  9. For all the crap I have given McD and Beane, I will say, they don’t appear to be afraid to cut bait with vets they just signed if they aren’t the best option. I do feel like Tre will probably be safe as he’s genuinely a good player, even if not the athlete he once was, but I could easily see them going for all their draft picks over Jackson and the guys that haven’t really claimed playing time even after being on the PS. Now if one of those guys happens to shine this camp, then good for them and it may make it harder for the rookies, but all of the guys they took have better physical tools, and honestly all were better college players. I will be genuinely surprised if the entire secondary minus Benford and Rapp isn’t different this year. One would hope Bishop claims a spot and in an ideal world maybe Rapp ends up a back up to him and one of the rooks takes the FS spot.
  10. Special teams could be the ticket.
  11. That’s the truth right there. If he had come out and said, “I know there is a lot to learn and I look forward to it” instead of being a douche nozzle, he would have been a top 10 pick.
  12. you pointed out why people are hung up by on it, guys who are markedly better are earning half that in average and 20% less in the big year of their deal. Cook is so over rated by a number of you on this board it’s actually comical. You laugh at the Dolphins for signing Tua, not realizing you want the Bills to do the equivalent at a less valuable position.
  13. Why is everyone all excited about a guy that was a bottom of the barrel signing? He’s the Andy Isabella of Safeties. If he proves me wrong, great. If he gets cut for Hamlin, don’t be shocked.
  14. Most guys that hold out have a legitimate claim for their ask, he doesn’t have any reasonable claim to be a top 2-3 paid back in the league. If he wants to hang the team out to dry, while the guy they drafted to replace him takes his reps, that’s his option, just don’t be surprised when it blows up in his face and he hits the market with 600 yards and 6 TDs. Davis can easily replace him at the goal line, his td total can be halved in a hurry.
  15. Doubt that, but we will see how it plays out.
  16. Nah, he won’t hurdle the little guy, lay the wood baby!
  17. All valid. I didn’t realize Vick had such small hands, but he could absolutely spin it.
  18. Thats where I don’t agree. He plays the least risky player, which doesn’t give you the best chance to win, it just lowers the mistakes. When a guy hasn’t been in camp and the other guys are doing well, he won’t displace the worker.
  19. Easily. Josh is built like a freight train. Dalton appears to be more of a slight frame guy that fights to keep muscle on. If he didn’t try, I bet he’s a guy that walks around at 6’4” and 200lbs. It’s actually amazing Picket was as good as he was in college, his grip on the ball is so limited.
  20. I don’t know that I agree he’s “way better” than Swift, their careers aren’t all that different. They both put up great averages in limited numbers, got over 1k in yards when given more carries behind a great line and then Swift wanted to be paid so he went to the highest bidder and we see reality again. The difference is really that Cook got the opportunity to play more early in his career than Swift did. Is Cook better? Yeah, I think he’s a better player, but is the gap all that big? I don’t think so. Their numbers are nearly identical when you put Swift in Philly. The Bills line is in their level, and the threat of the QB is larger in Buffalo. We’ll see if Cook is what he thinks he is this year, if he comes to camp late or plays games, don’t be surprised when McD names one of the other guys the starter and won’t let Cook get touches for 6 weeks. McD plays favorites and he favors those who are out there doing the work. If Cook can come in and force his way back into the line up and produce, then good for him, but I’m absolutely not going to be surprised to watch his carry total be cut in half for the early part of the year if he plays games.
  21. You are probably accurate on his market value and the point is, either he wants to win and is willing to take a home team discount or he’s the greedy douche he looks like and is only looking to get paid. I’m sure he’ll look great in a Browns uniform next year.
  22. I’m 1000% on board with spend on the line and plug in the back. I think there are guys out there, like Saquon that can make a big impact when they have that line, but I see a lot of people saying the Bills have a dominant line and I don’t see a RB that takes over anything. Cook is a GOOD starter with limitations, I think you are looking at a DeAndre Swift situation. Yeah, he’s fast and he’s valuable behind this line, but take away gapping holes and he’s not a difference maker. Saquon, CMC, Henry etc have no holes in their game, Cook has a massive issue with blocking which means he can’t be left in there to chip on passing downs so his presence telegraphs the play call to the D. He can keep screwing around and find himself wondering how Ray Davis took his starting gig while he sat out. Davis can do it all, might not be as explosive, but he’s going to be here for 3 years and Cook probably isn’t.
  23. Barkley had injuries and absolute zero threat of the pass in his years with the Giants, the only reason he looked “bad” was the dog crap around him and injury. If you want to follow the logic you are using, then Cook is a product of the system and would be garbage elsewhere. Cool, so if he played 3x as much, he’s worth 6M a year. So Cook is a 2 down guy, guess he’s worth 4M by your standards.
  24. I’m good with all of that, but point 2 is patently false.
  25. yeah, so that’s not how that works, but if you want to have massive dead cap implications over a RB who you admit isn’t elite, I guess it makes sense.
