It doesn’t burn anymore. But I think that’s from the cream. -
Imagine a world where the US has the ability to choose the type of jobs our citizens have to work, focusing on safety and higher wage opportunity’s for the betterment of society. Sure, it doesn’t mean we can make everything we buy, but is doing so really in our best interest? Don’t we have the right as the most wealthy nation in the world to not have to ask our citizens to work on assembly lines and clothing factories for minimum wage? Why not let other countries compete over that work? We can’t do it as cheap and if we try the best result is our citizens taking on the extra expense. In the best case scenario we can have a diverse group of suppliers from all over the world competing to sell us goods at the best rates. Then our citizens can be free to consume and purchase the things they want at the best possible prices. It almost sounds like utopia doesn’t it? We only get the good high quality jobs we want. Then we get the best possible prices on everything we want to buy. It’s just too good to be true right?

Republican Self Reflection Thread

How do you know the guy is working 7 days a week? -
Ding, why should I subsidize the poor and uneducated of this country with jobs by paying more money for the crap I want. No thanks. If your job is that easily replaced and that unskilled you really should look at alternative options. What isn't an option is making everything more expensive for the rest of the country so you don't have to solve the issue yourself. In the best case scenario this is manufacturing welfare for the uneducated and unskilled. No thanks.

I'm not an economist. Wouldn't pretend to be. This is a global economy with so many nuisances it's virtually impossible for the normal person to understand the full implications of everything that will happen from this. When it comes to situations I can grasp more clearly but are still very complicated, especially when the stakes are high, I'm cautious. If I can't see what's around the corner then it's not very safe to slam the gas pedal. I would expect the same behavior from the president of the United States when it comes to our livelihood. What Trump has done with this is unconscionable. This is the most powerful country in the world, the most wealthy, still economically positioned better than the majority of the countries in the world. He decided to take an action that has the potential to have catastrophic consequences on the US. It wasn't a situation with the US on the brink of war or being forced to make a move so drastic. He did so as if this move would have no risk and only reward. It's beyond short sited, especially when all the leading experts are throwing caution to the wind.

I'm going to rob a bank. Before I rob the bank, I'm going to say, watch this, in the coming weeks people will be complaining of money being stolen and theft. They just don't understand the greater purpose of why we are robbing the bank. Then people like yourself, who struggle with independent considerations, can go see, my leader told me this would happen and yes, it's happening. My leader was right. I imagine you would win a race to the Kool-aid

We are looking at a limit down in the stock market. Which we haven't seen since Covid.
