I still think Harris can do some great things for us. He really hasn’t been used much after being hurt in the preseason. Murray can set it up well for Cook. Murray being more of a physical plodder at this point.

This wasn’t exactly the set up Josh had been at risk with historically, but he played even better than to be expected. Great response after a difficult week.

I actually think Allen is a very sensitive person. Probably too much for his own good.

Why is Allen absolved from criticism? Don't most people get criticized when they perform like crap? Isn't Josh making what he is to put up with what happens when you play bad? It's an occupational hazard. I don't agree with the dumb crap, like he's only worried about banging his girlfriend, but fans can and should act as they please (while having some level of human decency). This is entertainment and most of us signed up for a Super Bowl not a divisional playoff win. We have been invested in this most our lives and If Josh plays well, we will be the first to be excited and support him. If anybody who criticizes Josh is actually rooting for him to fail, they can completely piss off. That's not even close to the place this is coming from.

Different eras

I watched every year since 89. He made some dumb plays. I still don't put him in the category of Allen yet. I would have to run the data with some era adjusted factors. But noted dude, it was a long time ago. Both certainly could make some dumb mistakes.

I mean, I care about his coverage more than run support. Did you see the alignment of our d-line on that play? We can't ask a corner to be a Linebacker. His coverage was excellent. He shut Wilson down.

I don't disagree with Kelly having way more talent or why we went to the 4 Super Bowls. The AFC east was certainly weak. Still doesn't give Josh and our zero AFC championships the nod over Kelly. I also don't put Kelly in the grouping of Favre reckless. Aggressive as all hell? Sure. Stats are a bit difficult to look at to compare given how different the eras are. I think QB rating by era is almost a 20 point difference. Josh needs to accomplish more on the field or get an MVP. It's getting close, but Bills fans were way to quick to give him the nod.

Buy= Tre, Bernard, Kincaid, Floyd, Torrence, Milano Sell= Poyer, Gabe Hold= Josh That's all I feel solid about saying right now. As bad as the loss was I actually think we had more unknowns play well than I expected. Plus I loved how Tre looked.

Davis just can't run the full route tree. That has always been more of a problem than his hands. How nice would it be if we had a guy that could body up on a hitch with a little separation. Davis just can't fool anybody that he is running a route inside of 10 yards. The league didn't know this about him his rookie year, but the book is out. I love what I saw from Kincaid. Silky smooth, instincts. He seems pretty destined to take on the #2 role here. In such, I wouldn't mind Knox being #3. WR is not catching any breaks we hoped we might get.

Kelly was way more accomplished in advancing his team. Outside of his partying, he was one of the elite field general and leaders of his generation. More of a true QB staying within a system. Stats don't really move the needle here. His were good in his day, but players are putting up stats like this is Madden now. Different game. Kelly is already in the Hall of Fame. 4 AFC championships. I know it's popular to give Allen the nod, but he's not there yet. Maybe at his best, sure. Hell, by that definition Allen is better than anybody in NFL history. His skills are likely the best skills anybody has ever had.

I think she felt like it was the right move, but I think the right move would have been not to apologize. I really doubt Stef would have been bothered by this. With the apology, now she actually looks more like she did something wrong.

After the Steelers opener in 2021 which was the 2nd fewest times Josh was blitzed, teams started to adjust how they played us on defense. I posted on this before. The aggression dialed back considerably and more teams played a style like NYJ or Pittsburgh during that time. In that stretch it included the Jacksonville debacle, the Titans loss, the Colts onslaught. It wasn't the best stretch for us or Josh but we still won enough to be in the mix. When it was all said and done prevailing thought was 2021 was our year with the conclusion being Allen's very best performance. It's hard to argue with that. We are essentially facing a 100% identical situation to the start of 2021. Hell, even the score would have been identical had the Jets kicked the extra point. In my mind Josh needs to really get what needs to be done which makes me frustrated thinking how how didn't he prior? But still. This sport will humble you and a lot of people including myself require smack you on the head lessons to learn. The way he is being treated on a national stage after this game is a smack you on the head moment. In some ways it wouldn't be hard to argue that this game was a 100% requirement in order for us to actually get where we want to be. Sort of like a addict hitting rock bottom. Josh needed to fully bottom out to see this isn't the path if a Super Bowl is his goal. I have been critical most the offseason but would be the first to say he is the franchise. I will still hope for the change and likely still be critical if it doesn't happen. It's part of being a fan. But if you feel like it's hopeless, well, again, it was nearly an identical situation when we made our most competitive run. It is not hopeless. Heck, even if you think he will be doomed to a Brett Favre mindset, even Brett got one. We could be in a far worse situation at the position.

As extreme as this negative reaction has been the perception on Josh by Bills fans is more accurate than before the Jets game. People that are saying we should trade him are just as ridiculous as the ones who wouldn't let you be critical of him. He is fallible and it's ok to discuss his faults while still enjoying what he does.

All we got is opinions so here you go. Josh is very effective on simplified post snap reads when he has a pre snap tell. The best example I can give from this is the seam route to Diggs in the first half. Josh starts with his eyes left in almost exaggerated way. He's holding the safety. As he comes back he is almost so quick to release to Diggs it couldn't have been a post snap read. It was more, I'm going to hold the safety and when I come back if I have any window I'm throwing a cannon. I feel Daboll really positioned him to have a lot of these routes. So much pre snap motion, leading the league for most the time he was here. Extra consideration to his youth. In addition to the play structures, Josh is so damn good at play action and Daboll also knew that as well. It gives Josh timing and rhythm and again usually a simplified route structure. Now what if Josh drops back and he doesn't have any quick reads? Historically it was not uncommon for Josh to roll out. He created huge plays over the years scrambling toward the sideline and throwing downfield. If he didn't roll out he would gash you up the middle as rusher came at him with no gap integrity. With that said, when is the last time Allen hit Davis on a classic sideline toe tap or how often are we seeing Allen charge the middle of the line and steal 10 yards because a defense lacks gap discipline? Teams are no longer giving him these positive plays he got when he didn't know what to do with the football. I think he is fully aware these outlets are gone which in turn leads to a very uneasy QB in that initial drop back.

I mean, they they're 9-2 the last 11 with the Turkey game which they outplayed us in being one of those games. Currently +1600 vs Buffalo at +1000. It's not like you get extra credit for having been to the playoffs.

I think the Lions are an intriguing comparison (post Dan Campbell) because they're actually a comparable team as far as playoff droughts (still active), long standing history, our ties to playing in Detroit of late, never having won a Super Bowl. More than that depending on how far down you want to take it, Ralph, etc.... The Lions seem to have took a much different path than Buffalo in how they're built. They did not focus on needing to land a QB in the draft. They run a very aggressive system often going for it multiple times per game. They built around developing a run game. In fact I would say the entire make up is hard nosed. You have this sea of former NFL coaches that are very eccentric. Seems more like a work hard play hard group (watch the TD celebrations or hard knocks). Clearly the way the Bills have done it so far has been the superior. No debating that. Looking at the next few years I would say we are now seeing them catch up and possibly pass us. It made me think, as of right now, knowing all you know, would you say they're more likely to win a Super Bowl before we are? I think I would have laughed at that notion a couple years ago. But it seems like the consideration is certainly possible now. Being from that area the thought is depressing. Have the Lions caught us?
