    I guess we disagree on this a bit , the soft LOS pressure on opponents pass catchers is still a big issue with this defense, and has been for some time now, third and long has become a bit of a running joke, especially this past season, it’s a combination of not having the right personnel and coaching, nuthin but luv, 👍

    Certainly can be “part” of the answer, but When the same break downs in the scheme happen regardless of the year or the players, its coaches not modifying their scheme that is the likely root of the problem, this coming from a guy who is pro McDermott 90 plus percent of the time, 👍

    I agree with you for the most part, but the scheme hasn’t worked well against top teams, it imo, needs to be adjusted / tweaked / changed in some way, we give up easy yards way to frequently, that is my beef with Sean’s scheme, Always hoping for the best 🤞

    Agree that “ zone” per se isn’t the problem, it’s giving up what I call, free release, off the line for easy yards that frustrates me, I think that upsetting pass play timing by “getting in the receivers face” at the line could go a long way to helping, jmo, you are better versed in tactics than I am, am I missing the boat on my thoughts here?

    You are spot on Shaw, I have learned a lot coming here to read up on what Bills fans are talking about, I generally don’t go in got the mock draft projections, but for some reason or another I am more interested this off season, I think it’s because the Bills are on the cusp of bringing it home, 👍

    Nice post Happy, My take away from what you posted is that we need to have tight coverage at the LOS to upset their pass timing, soft coverage zone has been our Achilles heel, it is my hope that our coaches can optimize our D to limit that flaw, 🤞

    Control the lines and you control the game, that old saying that the game is won and lost in the trenches holds true to this day, please, no more FA signings of old guys on the down side of their careers, 🤞

    Being that all HCs tell GMs what they want / need, and that all teams draft for BPA at positions of need/want, it’s a murky line as to who is doing what.., I suspect that sometimes Sean gets who he wants, and the rest of the time Beane makes those decisions, it’s very likely the same across the league, likely the have both screwed the pooch at times.
