  1. Yikes! I never liked Dalton as a QB.
  2. IF you think your best 11 players (whichever offensive set) is better than the 11 they would put up against that set AND your offensive team can communicate efficiently w/o huddling, then YES, having an offense that gets back up to the line and keeps that defense on the field can be a big tactical advantage. You have to be able to snap the ball if they are trying to substitute. Then you can start communicating the play to everyone, then after 15 secs ppl move to create the look you want, then execute. This way it makes it harder for the defense to be optimal for the situation at hand.
  3. ok, let's change it up a bit... if you are building a team and how you would want to allocate *greatness* 24 Players on the field (both sides of ball): Offense: QB, RB, LT, RT, OG, OG, C, WR1, TE, WR2, (your option)last spot could be FB, WR3, RB2, TE2 Defense: DT1, DE1, DE2, MLB1, OLB1, OLB2, Safety1, Safety2, CB1, CB2, (your option 4/3 or 3/4 DEF)last spot DT2 or MLB2 Special Teams: K, P Using the Bell Curve: Elite (1) / All Pro (2) / Solid Starter (3) / Below Avg Player (4) / Barely NFL Caliber (5) / Not Good (6) (The number is just so you can tell if someone is that level, not how many of each for that position). Now, for Every Elite player you have, you have to match with Not Good, All Pro with Barely NFL and solid starter with Below avg player. Example: remember adds up to 24: 2/3/7/7/3/2 For me: Breakdown per position 2 / 3 / 7 / 7 / 3 / 2 QB 1 RB 4 LT 2 RT 3 OG 4 OG 5 C 3 WR1 2 WR2 3 *WR3 6 TE 4 K 4 P 4 4/3 DEF DT1 3 *DT2 5 DE1 1 DE2 3 MLB1 3 OLB1 4 OLB2 5 Safety1 4 Safety2 6 CB1 2 CB2 3 This was interesting... My OLine is the best, but I have an elite QB that hopefully will make some good decisions with an All Pro WR. And on defense I went with an elite DE to pressure the QB and an All pro CB to lock down other teams best WR.but my linebackers, safeties, and special teams suffered.
  4. But hopefully Josh Allen is better than Tom Brady some day. Yep, the are different. They whole NewEngland comparison came from a post earlier about the conservative playcalling at the goal line and we didn't want to 'show' anything so we ran it 3 times up the gut. All I said about that was NewEngland waits until it's garbage time to level out their playcalling tendancies...
  5. That's fine if you want to believe Wood. Like others have said he's on the Bills payroll, so he's kinda obligated to say something nice. I'm not even saying that Daboll isn't running a decent offensive scheme, but his playcalling is holding back this offense IMO. Perfect example in from the Bills/Wash game, just on opposite sides - Wash Offense/Bills DEF. We got gashed in the first half by Washington's running of the ball, but in the second half we adjusted to stop the run (put more ppl in the box / attack the LOS with more players) and shut them down. But Washington couldn't take advantage that we focused to stop the run more bc they have a rookie QB in his first start... Daboll's conservative playcalling in the second half stymied our offense just has much as Washington's DEF. As for the Pats/Niners haven't beat anyone, that's not what I was taking about with Bellycheck mixing up types of plays AFTER he has put away the other team. Just because we won by 15 doesn't mean that game was still up for grabs in the 4th QTR. Lead by QTR: 1st, Bills +10; 2nd, Bills +11, 3rd, Bills +8 (1 score), 4th Bills +15. (Lucky we have a good DEF) As for the Pats and putting ppl away: Here's their margin of victory... Steelers +30 Dolphins +43 Jets +16 Bills +6 Redskins +26 Giants +21 Jets +33 Browns +14 Baltimore -17 Most of their margins of victory are more points than we score in a whole game...
  6. It's been said that Bellicheck does stuff like this to balance out tendencies in certain situations, but he does that in garbage time when his team has already won the game handily, not when the game is still in question. I think all of us are 100% behind the Bills, but we have played weak competition and we are squeaking by because of our defense. We cannot rely only on the defense to win the games. That is why most Bills fans are upset/concerned. We should have destroyed Washington. We didn't. IMO, the players executed pretty well on offense vs. Washington.... They ran the plays they were given... That's why I blame the playcalling for holding back this offense.
  7. I had zero problems with running 3 times up the gut there, 1st and goal at the one... you should be able to get a yard... Give the offense line a chance to push them back... they didn't. No big deal. My problem with Daboll's playcalling was more in the second half when we went into shell mode... We need to distribute the ball around more, at different levels. We are running ok vs. Washington, but a good playcaller knows.. 'Hey were up by 10 points, they are going to come out and try to stop the run. We need to take advantage of that.' Play action pass to intermediate zone of the field, not a screen pass and not a bomb. A nice 10-20 yard comebacker or slant. This keeps the defense off balanced and will keep the run open.
  8. Is he even the most overpaid D lineman on the team???
  9. The reason why people/fans are having a hard time billeaving this team is for real is the way we have been winning. Our D is legit, but this offense is just plain hard to watch sometimes. We were up 17-6 at half and after that it looked like our offense went into a shell and played prevent throwing for almost the whole third and fourth quarters, leaning on our defense... A good team shouldn't do that. I don't blame any of the players for this, I blame the coaches to call run, run, run all the time, trying to run out the clock instead of trying to attack Washington and pass *some*, not a ton, enough passing to keep the defense guessing. We were running well yesterday, it was screaming play action pass down the field all second half. I think we did it once or twice... Coaches need to stop going into a shell up more than a TD... put teams away.
  10. This is why the draft needs to go to 10 rounds... More draft capital to pass around...
  11. How are the Jets gonna trades Safety Adams and RB Leveon at the same time... come on Jests... send Leveon to us for a 3rd...
  12. For an expiring contract, I wouldn't want to give more than a 4th for him, BUT if we could negotiate a contract extension before the trade (sounds like Buff and Cinc have been talking for a while), then I could go up to a 2 or 3rd round choice or a 3rd and another later pick (5th or 6th). Green has been hurt last couple of years and is over 30 now?? I think.
  13. Leveon for a 3rd rounder? Sounds about right...
  14. Thought we fixed the run defense with Oliver...
  15. Against the wind in the first quarter, we played pretty well overall and only gave up 3 points. *That is a huge win* Now, the second quarter is where we were faltered. Our defenses got beat with short dinks and dunks by Philly when they were against the wind. Seriously, what did you think they were going to do against the wind??? We just let them keep doing that all the way down the field... it was pathetic IMO. Our defense should have used the 12 defender (the wind) to our advantage and be up in their face... That's what philly did to us when we were against the wind. The fumbles hurt especially the one at the end of the half. Our kick missed, it was a tough kick in that environment. IMO, we were still in that game, down 11, and our offense finally starting blowing philly off the line 2 plays in a row and Gore ran for like 6 yards each play... THEN what do we do??? Pass, pass, pass. Why? That was when we should have kept running the ball and took it to philly... That IMO is when we truly lost the game. Well, we weren't going to win them all... We need better playcalling. (4th and 2/3yrds and we run a QB sweep to the right??? smh terrible call)
  16. Are the jets Tanking for Tua? Do they already know that Darnold is not the answer? Dude sees ghosts... so who knows. Jets won't trade with us. Wouldn't mind the DT, not the WR, he's not very good IMO.
  17. Jim: Ok, one last time... It goes like this... The Bills make me wanna SHOUT! Kick your heels up and SHOUT! Throw your hands up and SHOUT! Throw your head back and SHOUT!
  18. The Chinese Buffet Wrecking Crew!
  19. I think the biggest mistake the Jests made was not firing their GM sooner if he was not going to be compatible with the new head coach or if he wasn't living up to the expectations of the owner. Why keep a dude around to F'k up your free agent signings and also the draft.... THEN can him? They should have canned the GM as soon as they knew the dude was toast, find a new GM that believes in what you want to do, THEN go and get a coach... The Jests fail in Logic.
  20. So... the dude's been a no show at the team facility, we will have to pay him a lot of money, AND we have to give up a high draft pick for him??? Where do I sign up???
  21. What does chipping and putting gotta do with football??
  22. Isn't the next draft supposed to be the best ever??? Let's get an up and comer... cheap! Cooper isn't worth Brown money... pass.
  23. New England is still going to be a good team, but I think they are going to REALLY miss gronk. For Buffalo to make the playoffs, we will probably need 10 wins. I think New England will take a step back and will be in the 9-10 win area w/o gronk. So we should be close to winning the division or win in the last week.
