Would you make a trade for Alshon Jeffery?
hjnick replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What's his cap hit? In this draft with ALOT of WR's. Last 6th round pick. -
Looks like the NFL is about to have the New CBA.

What is the minimum rookie salary now? "$100K increase in 2020 for Rookie Minimums, another $50K increase in 2021 and then $45K increase each year after" How is this going to effect the bottom of your roster? "Performance Based Pay increased to $8.5M in 2020 and $10M in 2021, with annual increases thereafter" Is this so you can make contacts performance based? I'm assuming performance bonuses are a part of their cap number? "Raises for Practice Squad Players to $10.5K per week; total number of 12 players increasing to 14 players, with two unlimited Accrued Seasons players" 2 unlimited spots. That's pretty cool. -

where can you get the CBA doc at??? Thanks. -
Well, whoever is going for Trevor needs to get the #1 pick, because you are not getting him at #2. Well, if you were going to tank, Rosen is a good start. They need to trade for Peterman so clinch it.

Draft hypothetical - all needs adequately filled
hjnick replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What would be the value for next year's 1st round pick be? Thx. BTW, I was also trading them the Bills 3rd round pick and 5th round pick. -
Hot garbage take: Newton is not good. I would in a second. That kid is gonna be great. My replies just merged together. That was cool. Best board around.

Love hypotheticals. Ok, IF, WR#1, OT/G, and EDGE are all fixed prior to the draft and there are no glaring weak spots... The only players I'd try and trade up for are Chase Young, Isaiah Simmons, and Jeff Okudah. I think all 3 are going to be difference makers. With having a WR#1, I don't have a reason to trade up for a WR. I can still stay at 22 and get a great WR. I would like to trade back and get some picks for next year. In return, I want someone's #1 pick for next year. I'd also like to use some of our lower level draft picks and maybe swap 3rd round picks so we can get farther up in the 3rd. So then in that example, if we traded back into the front of round 2 w/ Cinc. We would get: 2020 1st pick 2nd round, 2020 1st pick 3rd round, 2021 Cinc 1st round pick Cinc get: 2020 our first round pick (22), 2020 our 3rd round pick (swapped picks basically), 2020 5th round pick. Is that even remotely close value wise??? -
2020 mock drafts/ fanspeak/ draft network

fanspeak - brad board Round 1 - Ceedee Lamb and Ruggs were both available! Hit the mother load. 9th value at 22. Round 2 - Go OT. Kmet was also there, but didn't take him. Round 3 - I would have liked to trade back here if I could have. Wasn't really anything of value here. Reached for Kenny W. here. Round 4 - Pass on a couple of Center's valued around 105-110 at 125 for another WR. Round 5 - 22: R1P22 WR CEEDEE LAMB OKLAHOMA 54: R2P22 OT PRINCE TEGA WANOGHO AUBURN 86: R3P22 EDGE KENNY WILLEKES MICHIGAN STATE 125: R4P22 WR TYLER JOHNSON MINNESOTA 155: R5P9 S DAVID DOWELL MICHIGAN STATE 167: R5P21 RB ZACK MOSS UTAH 188: R6P9 RB AJ DILLON BOSTON COLLEGE 201: R6P22 WR JUWAN JOHNSON OREGON 207: R6P28 G TOMMY KRAEMER NOTRE DAME I would be very happy with this draft. -
With such a deep WR talent pool this year, I have zero problem drafting 3 WR's. After our top 2 WR's, all the rest are expendable IMO.
-
For a WR.... uh, no.
-
I really wonder since there are SO MANY great WR's in this draft if teams are going to pass on a WR in the first round because they can get the same talent level WR in the 2nd and/or 3rd round. This would then push up other positions in the first round. I also think WR free agents aren't going to break the bank this year because of the sheer number of new WRs you can obtain in the draft.
-
If the man doesn't have the 'man parts' to play in the snow, the dude is a 'lady parts'. I've watched him play while in Dallas. The dude sucks. I hope Dallas signs him to 18-20 a year. Disappears when you need your #1 to step up the most. *Different topic* Also, like others said, the deep WR draft class will have some impact on the free agent market. There will probably be a couple that makes a lot of money, but if Beane holds out a little while, I bet we could get a good mid-range #2 WR or better for a very reasonable price.
-
There is obvious potent with him. I think it will just come down to if he really gets a shot. I personally think Dallas should trade Dak to Miami for 2 first rounds picks and Josh Rosen. Then dallas can get a journeyman for next year, draft another qb in this class and see which one pans out behind the veteran QB. Dak is asking for crazy money for a glorified busdriver, IMO.
-
Never liked Rosen. I thought he was a head case and didn't want that. Now, after seeing what he has gone though, I feel bad for the guy. He got a crap offensive line in Arizona and thrown to the wolves. Then, he gets traded to "Tank for Tua" Miami where they went w/ Fitzmagic over him. He's probably damaged good by now, who knows how he could have done behind a decent Oline.

Do we really need a power back?
hjnick replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Speed, Power, a Singletary clone, don't really care as long as they can run efficiently. We need a young 'Herd' of RB's to split up the carries. -

Fanspeak, Jake list 1st, Ruggs and Chaisson was available 2nd, WR's left were farther down the list, so waited 3rd, ranked 76 at 86. 4th, ranked 115 at 125. 5th, WR ANTONIO GANDY-GOLDEN went right before my pick, which is who I wanted here. 5th, OT JACK DRISCOLL went 2 picks earlier, which is who I wanted here. 22: R1P22 DL JAVON KINLAW SOUTH CAROLINA 54: R2P22 CB DAMON ARNETTE OHIO STATE 86: R3P22 WR JALEN REAGOR TCU 125: R4P22 RB ZACK MOSS UTAH 155: R5P9 WR TYLER JOHNSON MINNESOTA 167: R5P21 LB JORDYN BROOKS TEXAS TECH 188: R6P9 EDGE CHAUNCEY RIVERS MISSISSIPPI STATE 201: R6P22 WR JAMES PROCHE SMU 207: R6P28 G MICHAEL ONWENU MICHIGAN If you can get Kinlaw at 22, you have to take him don't ya??? -
Lions ProBowl CB Darius Slay is on the block - Rams in on it
hjnick replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What are the Rams going to give them for Slay? They have almost no 1st and 2nd rounders for a while. How are they going to get him under the cap with everyone else??? This doesn't make much sense to me. -
Sounds like the extra playoff game has been agreed to, so no need to talk about that. I think it's kinda easy for the league to sell the 17th game to the players. Just show them projected salary caps with 16 games versus 17 games throughout the length of the contract. Obviously, the 17 game season will have a higher cap number and would probably expand at a higher rate also. So in the last years of the deal, it should be a no-brainer for the players to take it... AND if they don't, then they are just losing out on potential bigger paydays. Like someone else said, expansion of roster a couple of spots is probably a good thing. I think 2 byes is a good thing if going to 17 games, BUT I would make 1 bye be in the middle of the season where every player gets off. Sort of like a football midseason bye week where there could be a 'All star game' type of feel and have skills competitions. Then an additional floating bye throughout the season. That actually stretches out the regular season to 19 weeks.

I agree that the possibility for the Super Bowl is a somewhat real possibility depending on a number of factors, but mostly on Josh Allen continuing to mature/develop. I don't have a problem bringing in Diggs, but it has to be at the right price. Our first round pick, obviously, should be someone that will be a very productive player for the next 5 years AND also very salary cap friendly. So, I wouldn't give a 1st for Diggs. A second round pick or lower is pretty acceptable, but I would rather give up 2 3rd round picks and keep this year's second bc of this rich WR crop.
-
Diggs is good, but I wouldn't give a 1st for him with that contract AND he might be unhappy with it. For this year, I'd like to keep our 1st and 2nd round pick. I'd see if they would take a 2020 3rd and 2021 3rd round pick for Diggs. That way we can draft for needs in the 1st and 2nd. Still would like to get another WR in the draft.
