Free Agency News and Updates - around the league

does that exclude the 5Mil for the draft pick salaries? or in other words can we spend 20-24MIL on free agents or 15-19MIL? Thanks. -

Detroit should seriously think about taking Tua at #3 pick. I know they have Stafford, but he's been there about 100 years and it's time to turn the page for the franchise. Tua, IMO, is going to be a really good QB. Tua is a franchise changer IMO. -
In all seriousness... WHY would you send ANYTHING to the rams for Gurley and his arthritic knees??? Also, there is a plethora of RB's available that will be MUCH cheaper... The Rams will have to give picks with Gurley to get anyone to trade them for him.

Based soley on what I thought of Josh Allen coming out of college. 1 Burrows - Had a great year and good touch on the ball 2 Tua - He's #1 w/o all the injuries. Has that 'it' factor IMO. 3/4 Herbert/Josh Allen - Both big guys that can throw the ball around the yard. Now, after seeing Josh Allen in the NFL he moves up to #1 IMO. He's proven he can play in the NFL and is a good leader.

Well, obviously the Gurley move/trade is purely a cap dump move bc the Rams cap has ALOT of issues. I would take Gurley and a their 2020 2nd Round pick for Yeldon, Foster (WR), and a 2021 4th round pick. We can absorb Gurley's contract right? This move also gets us a 2nd round pick to make up for the 1st we lost when getting Diggs. Then after this year we can ask Gurley to restructure his contract at a MUCH lower cost or cut him.

What would an “All In” move be to you?

I talked about this in another thread. I wouldn't pay Clowney straight up 20Mil/yr. I would pay him a base of 10-12Mil and give him incentives to get up to 18-20MIL. If the dude produces... I'd pay him. Good for the Bills and good for him to make those incentives. -
Tanking for Trevor whos your pick
hjnick replied to ScorpionZero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's funny, I was just thinking about this today. Teams that I think are actively trying to get Trevor: Carolina, Jacksonville, Chargers, New England (I think they will have a terrible year) Teams that SHOULD go after Trevor: Miami (if they lose out on a QB), Chicago, LasVegas, Indy, New Orleans, Washington. Teams that MAYBE should go after Trevor: Pittsburgh, Denver, Detroit. -
We are looking at Melvin Gordon according to this tweet

I'd rather have a stable of low cost RB's than go after Gordon. Let's pass and use a draft pick on a RB. -

Out of those 2, you would probably have to move Dawkins over. Do you think Dawkins would have problems at RT? -

From this point, I'd say bringing in a Top end DE, like you said. Clowney would blow the top off this defense. Another move we could make would be to pick up OT Trent Williams from Wash in a trade. I saw somewhere they would take a 2nd for him. Those 2 moves solidify both lines. -

Chargers moving forward with Tyrod for 2020
hjnick replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good Luck Tyrod. -
I'm guessing that Beane have a couple more positions that he wants to get some FA's for. THEN in a little while when free agency slows down some, I bet he will sift thru the players that are left and pick up some just for the possibility of trading them in training camp like he did last year. Picking up a couple of extra picks... This dude plays chess while others are still sleeping...

Totally agree about rookies being cheap labor and those guys to a long way to make sure you can pay others until it's their turn to get paid... That's why giving up the #1 for Diggs hurts IMO. I'm happy we got Diggs, but I really wish we could have gotten away with a 2nd round pick for him... (as we all do...) Way out there prediction: We draft a WR with our 2nd Round pick. Someone that drops out of the 1st for some reason...
-
I think Diggs will be good for us. The only thing I don't like about the trade is giving up the 1st round pick. I would be ecstatic if it was a 2nd instead of the first. So I think getting Diggs is good, but I wish we would have given up a little less. (Like we all do)... especially after the Houston trade...

Dallas resigns cooper 5 yrs $100 million

Wash was going to pay ‘significantly more’.... I doubt that.
