I’d be hesitant, but in comparison to Darnold, I’d take that chance. Darnold is never taking a team far, and you never know what you’ve got with a rookie. I like the risk of the unknown over a known average quarterback. Shadeur can run, Darnold has been taking sacks all night long.
-
Darnold lacks the mental composure to be a good NFL QB. He completely fell apart last week, and let it carry over into the playoffs. He’s the stereotype of the soft USC QB, SoCal surfer meathead.
-
I don’t know, I’d take my chances with Shadeur Sanders or Cam Ward over Darnold. At least they can move in the pocket, which is a vital skill in today’s NFL that Darnold lacks.
-
Stafford has been given the veteran Brady like treatment since he put a LA uniform on.
-
I’d blitz Darnold every play. He can’t manage pressure at all.
-
Darnold looked so bad last week that it seemed like more than one off week that all QB’s have. I really think Jets Darnold is back.
-
Honestly, most of our drought era draft picks were dumb, and I’m surprised there isn’t a greater agreement on that truth. We all know the NFL draft is a crapshoot, but we made some really strange choices. There were too many reaches, and guys that were luxury picks.

This is true, but I think Evans would have put up pretty good numbers with Taylor. He wasn’t a complete QB, but knew how to find his playmakers at times. Sammy’s numbers were good in 2014 with no real QB. His career long injury problems derailed the other seasons more than Tyrod Taylor.

Chiefs vs Ravens/Bills is too good ratings wise to mess up in favor of the Houston Texans.
-
I agree with about the Commanders, but I’ve already given up on the Vikings after watching Darnold play last week. I think he turned into a pumpkin, and seems to have the yips right now.
-
Seems like this game might be decided on a mistake.

Kick the field goal.

This game has gotten really sloppy.
-
Mayfield has always gone from looking good to being a disaster at the snap of a finger.
-
That was terrible by Daniels.

I think that’s it, but honestly I find most of the millennial generation coaches to be somewhat annoying. Some of these younger guys are good coaches, but the leadership/sideline demeanor isn’t what I’m used to used in football. LaFleur exhibits a pouty face anytime he’s losing.
-
Eagles looking good. I’m not sure why many act like Siriani is a disaster, while LaFleur is some type of genius.

Mike Vrabel - Now hired as the new Patriots coach
SirAndrew replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
Vrabel might a really good coach, but the Titans years were a major fluke with Henry’s out of this world talent. He has yet to demonstrate the ability to win without an elite ground and pound attack. I don’t think Vrabel is bad, but the success in Nashville doesn’t necessary match reality. -
Herbert is insanely overrated. In today’s pass happy NFL most QB’s put up good numbers. It’s much more than stats that make a good QB these days.

This is the obvious answer, but it’s not easy for everyone to admit. I think there’s plenty of proof in early season ticket prices, especially prime time games being much higher on the resale market. The market is willing to pay big bucks for those games, but resale prices magically change in January. Yeah, I think a lot of the resale market in January sells to the twenty something crowd who can better tolerate three hours of cold.

Watching Ewers and Allar is a similar experience.
-
Quinn Ewers is a good QB, but i’d have a difficult time not playing Arch Manning. Doesn’t it seem like the football gods would have Manning lead that team to a title?
-
I agree, Allar clearly doesn’t live up to the hype, but how do you not run at least one WR screen? Do they have no playmakers beyond Warren? I mean that as a genuine question because I didn’t watch many PSU games this year. Kotelnicki is definitely limited by Allar, but then he doesn’t recognize it as he should imo. If Kotelnicki fully recognized Allar’s limitations, they should have been more conservative before having Allar throw the game losing pick. Do you think he can scheme a good passing game with a pocket passer? That’s what I wonder when I watch Penn Stare. The run game looks far more developed schematically. I’m not saying he’s a bad coordinator. I just wonder if Penn State needs to recruit a different type of QB to maximize the talents of the coordinator.
-
Allar was terrible, but they didn’t complete one pass to a receiver. That’s also a system failure. Penn State will always be a really good team, but they aren’t going anywhere if they don’t figure out how to run an effective offense. They have the talent to run mediocre teams out of the building, but can’t score enough points against good opponents.
