Here’s the thing…. Jackson’s playoff turnovers haven’t been of the standard variety, the majority have been really bad plays. The Ravens have a good defense and run game. They could have won some of those games based on excelling in those areas. Instead you have Jackson throwing picks into no man’s land, and awful fumbles.

I agree, but in fairness he was a great DC with the Giants before being Pats coach. He was a great coach, even if Brady was the most important piece of the puzzle. I think the game has passed him by, and the luck part of his success has run out. You need a good roster to be a winning coach. The Pats no longer had one, and UNC has subpar talent. Belichick’s biggest blunder was his ego allowing him to think UNC was a winning situation. He’s become a poor decision maker late in his career, and that’s the biggest reason for the decline.
-
He needs to begin asap from the looks of it. I never understood this UNC thing. It was doomed from the start when he couldn’t recruit elite talent in the transfer portal.
-
Belichick has turned into an absolute joke. He’s not even entertaining because he maintains the gruff demeanor. That works when you’re a champion, but not as a losing ACC coach.

The Ravens always have insane talent, but it’s tough to win playoff games when your QB is throwing picks and fumbling at the worst moments. Jackson is a top notch athlete and one of the best QB’s, but these issues have been glossed over. Everyone focuses on Lamar’s valiant fourth quarter comeback attempts in the playoffs instead.
-
As I’ve mentioned, I think their talent is elite, but I agree about the schedule advantage. They play a ton of mid tier teams this season. It really limits the likelihood of too many hiccups during the season. A conference schedule as mid tier as the ACC would be a greater challenge.

Yeah, I’ve historically been the first guy to complain about Notre Dame, but it seems like a strange argument now. When overrated they were losing bowl games by significant margins. I can’t say I’m a fan, but this is a different Notre Dame. They have the talent to compete with the best. A decade ago they were treated like an elite team, but the talent didn’t match up with the elites.

I’m really excited about this one. The stadium is going to be electric that night for the final home opener. I’m expecting Lamar to fall apart in that atmosphere.

Rashee Rice accepts six game suspension to start the season
SirAndrew replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. This is why punishment has been seemingly unjust. The court of public opinion and social media outrage is a constantly changing landscape. The NFL just follows that outrage or lack of. -
I think he’ll end up being a great college player, but those type of performances give me pause about NFL potential. I agree, he didn’t look decisive or accurate. I think we’re seeing a decline in college QB play access the board. It seems the consistent increase of QB talent may have plateaued.

Manning will be interesting to watch this season. You’ve got to wonder if he amounts to everything that’s been predicted. It’s difficult not to have a bias assuming he’ll be great. His physical attributes and playing style look just like every other Manning. It’s challenging to be subjective.
-
14-7. Texas got a taste of Big Ten football today. Manning not looking great. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s another Manning, or a Trevor Lawrence type “generational talent”.

Athletes you came to love more in later life
SirAndrew replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
Agree, this is why I appreciate players solely for on field production. I don’t like players because they’re a “good guy”. If a great player has been guilty of unsavory behavior, I’m not going to be a fan, but beyond extreme cases I don’t judge. -
Yeah, it’s time to save the Allen Superman runs for the playoffs. Those hits are going to feel different on the other side of 30. The yards per catch is something I’d always expect to be higher with Coleman. We have so many slot type receivers, he’s really the only guy I picture Allen pushing the ball to downfield.

I miss those type of matchups as well. When modern heavyweights matchup, it turns into last team with the ball wins scenario. Those games were far more nuanced. -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
SirAndrew replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wish there were virtual stadium seat views available online. I’m very curious what the views are going to look like. -
It stinks for fans more than anything. The last weekend before Labor Day and a huge game every college football wants to watch is on at noon.

That’s fair, but this isn’t a case of “those who can’t criticize those who can”. It’s just musical taste being very subjective. As a music nerd it bums me out that Swift is seen as the pinnacle of musical talent in 2025.

Great post, describes why I can’t stand popular modern music. It’s created using a cult leader mindset of producing catnip for the masses. There’s no individual artistic expression, it just regurgitates thoughts of the fanbase. I’m old enough to remember when bands released albums the fanbase hated, because they followed their heart. Almost every act had these albums, Swift never will because it’s so carefully crafted.

Longhorn Steakhouse(Cheektowaga) - Pepper Spray Incident
SirAndrew replied to LabattBlue's topic in Off the Wall
Cheektowaga is always fun. -
Exactly, and I keep hearing what great guys the Kelce’s are in the media and public opinion. I can’t stand the concept of these guys defining an acceptable version of manhood in the 21st century. Their behavior would have made them nothing more than a joke in previous eras.
-
Agree, I don’t know them personally, so I try not to judge. My issue is that people actually emulate these characters. Whether it consciously occurs or not is irrelevant, people literally model their personalities on celebs these days. I don’t love the idea of a world where Swift and Kelce are the ultimate male and female role models.

QB is the most important sports position on the planet. All the talent in the world doesn’t matter when your QB chokes in the playoffs. Lamar Jackson hasn’t played well enough against the Chiefs or Bills in the postseason. He’s been the problem.
