  1. Everyone, ESPN included, seems to be forgetting the Greg Roman effect with running QBs. That’s making a huge difference in Jackson’s performance running the ball. The kid is gifted, but eventually Romans schemes get figured out. I believe it’s 2-3 years. Lynn found a working game plan in his second game against the Ravens last season. BB will have a gameplan for it as well. I’m curious about how Jackson will perform with a different OC there.
  2. Exactly. It’s going to cause Wallace to look bad at times as teams will put their #1 WRs on his side to try and win on a physical mismatch. The kid isn’t particularly fast or strong. However, he’s smart and plays like a dog. I’m okay with that side of the field giving up some first downs if Wallace isn’t giving up any big plays. I’m sure he’s coached to do so.
  3. Im not a big fan of the coordinated team celebration. Reminds of the Riverdance scene from Baseketball (below). However, I have no issues with a quick dance, leap, spike, etc. especially at a critical moment like a go ahead TD.
  4. I think fans forget that both our HC and DC were top rank secondary coaches before being promoted. Coupled with how game smart Hyde and Poyer are it creates an incredibly good back end. Levi is also playing opposite Tre so he’s going to get picked on.... Fitz just proved why yesterday... Throwing the ball at Tre is like playing roulette.
  5. This is a relatively young team with young starters at some critical positions. I’m really not surprised that they’re playing to the level of their competition. McD has been fantastic, but he’s also In his 3rd year as a HC and has hired a few young coaches as well: O line, ST, etc. I think this team is going to grow together and keep improving. As this moves along I expect them to overcome their inconsistencies and learn how to play up to their level of talent instead of the opposing teams.
  6. I think the narrative comes from Gilmore seemingly not going all out in his contract year coupled with a few performance mishaps under the foot fondler.
  7. Generally agree. It’s just Hyde. ?‍♂️. Statistics tend to point out averages and don’t usually factor in particular situations, nor to they account for exceptional players. To be honest, Hyde might actually be the best return man on this team... However, he’s also a defensive starter. As for taking a tackle. I’d rather him turn it into a two score game.
  8. I really thought they’d just hammer Miami with Gore after those first few runs. Dabs went away from it even though it was working...
  9. I get that. I’m saying that the player recovering the ball was Hyde who for 2-3 years was one of the best return men in the NFL before he locked down a key role on defense. It’s why they had him fielding punts earlier in the year. He’s also one of the smartest and most reliable players on the field. I trust Hyde to make the correct decision, which the results would indicate he did. If Knox recovered the ball I’d have a different take.
  10. I’d agree, but that was Hyde’s fifth return for a TD. Can’t argue with him seeing a gap for a big return. It’s not like he hasn’t done it before. ?‍♂️
  11. Apparently crack is still a thing in LA.
  12. I seriously doubt this team can match that. Heck, that highlight half made the Pats/Fins performance look pathetic. It really was a loaded Offense with a HOF QB destroying a demoralized division rival. We may never see another half of football like that for a while. As for this Sunday... I could see Allen along with some other critical starters and guys playing through injuries getting pulled if we are up by 21+ going into the 4th quarter. Basically, pull Allen, Brown, etc and just play ball control O till the game ends.
  13. Closest I can think of was about five years ago. Packers vs Bears. Rodgers threw six touchdowns in the first half while the D blanked the Bears. 42-0 at halftime.
  14. I’d take a good hard look at Geronimo Allison if the Packers let him go. Dude can play and finds openings when Rodgers scrambles. That’s got some value considering Allen’s talents. They’ll probably resign him, but they’re close to the cap and are about to find out what their younger WRs have to offer. In general, I’m not too enthralled with this years WR FA class.
  15. I still think he might negotiate an actual contract with Wallace. Primarily to spread the cost and keep the yearly cheap, The benefit for Wallace would be guaranteed money now and more salary in the first 1-2 years than he would have gotten. Phillips is going to be interesting. Can’t say the guy will take a home town discount, but all things being equal I think he resigns here. Plus, Beane might not want to shake up the DT rotation. There’s always the chance some team offers stupid money though, especially if he has another monster game.
  16. Guaranteed to be narcissistic drivel, but the sports writer recap should be comprehendible. Of course there’s always the option of a book on tape, a joint or drinking game, and plenty of laughs.
  17. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Beane try to lock down Wallace with an extension of he keeps his performance up. Keeping that secondary together is probably a top priority.
  18. I feel the same way about Whaley. We’ll likely never know unless Rex does a tell all book at some point.
  19. Three physical defenses in a row, and all of those teams can run the football. Chiefs will likely be limping after that stretch, and may have to run the table to win the division.
  20. Well, it is that point in the Fitzmagic cycle... Rosen benched, Fitz gets starting job....
  21. He gets bonus points for gold embroidered duck calling championship waders.
  22. And not the John Wick dead dog look.
  23. So they just come out “flat” after halftime every game and play sloppy for 15-20 minutes? I think it’s much more likely that other teams adjust at halftime and throw in a few wrinkles that Allen and/ players new to the system don’t recognize immediately. Particularly on the Oline where an unexpected stunt and miscommunication can result in Allen scrambling and playing hero ball. I’m not down on Daboll at all. I’m actually quite happy with how the offense looks in general, especially red zone efficiency. However, we have a young QB, 4 new Olinemen, and receivers that haven’t excelled at the scramble drill. I expected a lot of these issues early in the season. It will improve. The encouraging thing is this team corrects third quarter issues and rallies in the 4th. As Allen gains experience and the Oline gel the recognition and communication will improve and errors will decrease.
  24. Nah. Homey don’t play that. Of course there’s always the possibility that it’s a sock account.
  25. My hope is that the coaching staff identified the adjustment issues and this improves from here on out. It’s one thing if BB can adjust better.... whole different story when Gase does it too. Getting Singletary back is going to be big. Having a safety valve for Allen that can turn a 2 yard pass into a 20 yard play is needed. If we’re really lucky Allen has a post injury time off performance jump like last season. Same with Denver. New coaching staffs on both teams. It could click for either of those teams at some point this season. Hard to predict when those games are a month away.
