  1. I feel like I need to take a shower after that game.
  2. Booger is gonna throttle a ref after the game.
  3. It should have. I was saying that the refs have been not calling PI all year and refusing to overturn it.
  4. Nothing. They’re not overturning a damn thing. Plus, it feels like they aren’t calling PI as often either.
  5. IDK. I’m certainly not for Green: old, often injured, and going into FA. Diggs though is 26 and signed through 2023.... Fits a long term plan as well as improving this season. When you consider that this team will likely draft in the 20’s trading a 1st for Diggs wouldn’t be contrary to Beane’s team building approach. That said, I seriously doubt Diggs gets traded, especially during the season.
  6. Exactly. There are only a handful of power 5 programs running a prostyle offense teaching technique that translates to the NFL.
  7. I’m kind of hoping they put Tyrod in so Rivers doesn’t get killed.
  8. In that circumstance it’s entirely dependent upon which Fitz shows up; Fitzmagic or Fitztragic.
  9. Allen definitely looks better when you add the 11 rushing TDs.
  10. That’s the hope. I want to laugh hysterically when they either 1) can’t get Tua, or 2) are blackmailed for an extra 1st to get Tua.
  11. I’m not so sure. He used Heath Miller effectively in Pittsburgh.
  12. Joe Buck makes it hell. The guy announces games like he’s describing Tiger putt at the open.
  13. I imagine they are, especially against Brady and other veteran QBs who will just get the ball out or throw it away. More likely they’re disregarding the splash plays because they aren’t on sports center. Picking of Brady in the end zone is big, White grabbing two picks in a game, etc. This D is making plays and getting turnovers when the opportunities present themselves... There are just fewer opportunities when your not in shootouts and your forcing 3&outs on 1/3 of the drives.
  14. These kids are five games into their rookie seasons. It’s way to early to tell who is going to fizzle out and who’s going to develop. Ford can definitely lose 15 pounds in the off season while improving his strength and technique. The book isn’t written yet... Heck, this same thread might get made later about Mecole or Hakeem Butler, and people will complain saying it should have been included in the Isabella “I told you so” thread. We should also keep in mind that most of Beane’s O-Line signings were 1-2 year deals. If Ford ends up being a dominant guard that’s a fine use of a 2nd round pick, especially when we’ll need guard depth in 2020-21. Ford will start at guard and be able to flex to RT if there’s an injury. Starting quality guards have always had 2nd round value, and a lot of teams take shots on possible OTs with guard floors in the round. No need to second guess the pick yet, IMO. There were four holes on the O-line, and they’re all patched. It’ll get sorted out in a more satisfactory manner now that this team can add to talent that’s already on the roster.
  15. And they’re referring to turnovers which tend to fluctuate quite a bit. They also occur more frequently in games where one team has to press aggressively to stay in it (young QBs aside) just like sacks. Plus Brady and Mariota aren’t turnover prone, and Eli just freezes, spikes it, or takes the sack. The turnovers will come when we get young or over confident QBs that try to force a ball into coverages they didn’t recognize. We have plenty of those QBs Post bye.... Rosen, Mayfield, Jackson, Keenam/McCoy/Haskins, Rudolph, and Wentz can definitely attempt hero ball.
  16. Just us. We’re definitely the only ones. Probably should have taken him in the 1st instead of Oliver.
  17. That a judgement I never make until mid-late November.
  18. Agree. Because of that defense I’d add that if Allen makes a post injury performance jump similar to last year this team is capable of a deep playoff run. It was also Wade Phillips vs Billy Boy containing those offenses.
  19. I think folks are confusing elite in a season with all time elite. This defense is not the 85 bears, but they’re a top 5 unit. This year they are elite.
  20. Partly, but to be fair all of those teams have encountered a few excellent D-lines and front 7s. Not just us. They’re bad lines, but have multiple games against top front 7’s and D-lines might make a few look worse than they are. Bengals for instance: Bills, Seahawks, 49ers; Jets got Bills, Pats, and Eagles. Bengals have a shot to improve once injuries heal and that new offense gets easier.
  21. Diggs is the only player I’d want them to give up a large asset for. He’s a healthy talent upgrade, will help Allen develop, under contract, and would fit into long term plans. One year rentals of aging and injured players often don’t pan out. Diggs would be more like the Dallas move for Cooper. All that said, this teams talent philosophy appears to be “eliminate weaknesses” over “stack talent”. We’re seeing that play out now. A pro bowler at WR or DE could push us into elite, but it won’t matter if Allen doesn’t improve. Beane and McD are building a roster that doesn’t lose, and will be in the hunt every year with good QB play... it’s a sustainable model assuming Allen keeps improving.
