Sharp Analysis: Best front sevens in NFL (Bills 8th)
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah weird game for their defense. They sacked Allen twice after Bills only gave up 14 all year. But Allen was 20/26 passing. Cook destroyed them on the ground as well. -
Yup. Lots of ways to win in the NFL. Chargers win the AFC West this year and then we slug it out with them in OP for the AFC Championship...hint that is a preview of my season predictions

Chiefs George Karlaftis extended - 4 years, $93 Million
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like a bit of an overpay. His pass rush number per PFF seems better than I would have expected. Id say Groot still has more upside but also disappears for long stretches of games/seasons compared to a more consistent Karlaftis. -
DVR Alert - 2024 Highlight Video on NFL Network

Are DVRs still a thing? -
Cook is a star. Dont apologize because you know it and many on here don't. To be fair, many recognize the talent they just don't want to pay a RB top dollar. It's a fair argument, just dont say he is not worth top 3 RB money.

They already have two James Cook Spencer Brown I know it's been stated numerous times, but Elihah Moore could be the breakout star WR especially if one of the other top 4 misses any time. I would like to say Kincaid but I don’t think Brady will use him like other elite TEs. That's a shame. On defense, sorry but I don't see anyone being a star. If I had to pick anyone I'd say a healthy Milano may have the best chance to be a star again. If you want to take a flier, I will choose Bishop. He is supposed to be athletic and McD took average looking guys and turned them into superstars in the past. Benford not even getting a mention in top CBs anonymous poll makes me really worry we have overrated him.

Does Thurman Thomas Get His Due? (Offseason rehash topic)
Ethan in Cleveland replied to folz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can agree with Sanders as best ever. I prefer more dual threat RBs like Thomas and Tomlinson but on pure rushing ability Sanders may indeed be the greatest. In terms of pure rushing I would say it is Sanders, Brown, OJ as my top 3. I would argue Simpson's 2003 yard 1973 season is the greatest rushing season and will never be close to being duplicated. His 143 yards/game is 10 yards higher than Jim Brown in second place and 15 yards per game better than Sanders best season. -
Does Thurman Thomas Get His Due? (Offseason rehash topic)
Ethan in Cleveland replied to folz's topic in The Stadium Wall
What a timely thread. I was rewatching Bills KC with Kelly, Thurman, Bruce, Montana, and Allen. I almost started a thread on most underappreciated HOF players. Marcus Allen doesn't get nearly enough publicity or recognition amongst the greats of all time. My guess is because so many dual threat RBs came in quick succession with Faulk, James, and Tomlinson. But Marcus Allen and Thurman did it better than anyone in their era. -
Top WR - ESPN - nfl executive rankings

You know two of the five are gone right? -
I dont understand the criticism the Jets are getting here. If the Bills had drafted the wrong Josh, would they have not given White and Oliver contract extensions? I thought the idea was to draft well and sign your own guys. Of course everyone wants to get a QB, but you dont let good to great players out of your franchise. I'd be fine arguing that neither of these guys are the best at their respectove positions and that the Jets overpaid. That's a fair and valid argument.

Pretty sure Von and Amare have not signed yet...break the glass in case of emergencies???

That team may have had the worst OL and worst WR group in franchise history. You can't mention those misses and not mention trading for Diggs who was a top 3 WR in the league when he was with the Bills. He has had pieces of the OL figured out during his tenure but not until last year did it finally all come together with a good mix of young and veteran talent.

Predict Most improved/Most likely to regress
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oliver is a solid starter - he can dominate for a few stretches of series but not much more than that. If he's taken in the second round its a great pick. He's a disappointment as a top 10 pick. -
Predict Most improved/Most likely to regress
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting take. I am expecting Kincaid to have a great year. Bishop is an interesting choice. If he can't beat out Hamlin this traininh camp then he's almost in the hustle category already. I almost picked Cook for the same rationale as Allen. No way Cook scores 20+ TDs again. However I could easily see him have more total yards than last season. Moore is a really interesting case. Could be a real nice pickup by Beane. Glad he listened to the radio guys! -
Improve : Im sticking with my pick from last year. O'Cyrus Torrence will look much better this year. Honorable mention Curtis Samuel - when healthy late last year he was an effective WR downfield not just on WR bubble screens Regress: Taron Johnson. I thought he slipped last year and I'm afraid he may be showing age/wear and tear. Honorable mention Bernard. I hate small linebackers. He wasn't nearly as good last year as the prior. I could see his body breaking down. Hope I'm wrong or that contract becomes a massive albatross

Darrick vs Damar…who makes the team?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hamlin and Gilliam are two guys that should have been gone a long time ago. A virtual lock both will be on the team. Hopefully Lewis is the odd man out. Hes awful at times but makes a few plays every once in a while. He has PS written all over him. He won't make any other roster in the NFL but he would be a good call up for an injury on the defensive backfield. -

After he left he won AP defensive player of the year. Maybe he was right to blame the safeties??? -
Outside of QB, Oline has to be the hardest to evaluate. The college game OL play is nothing like the NFL. Its all 2 point stances and spread offenses. Some physical traits are needed to play OT like wing span and foot movement. Outside of that its all player development.

On paper. But their moves look good Yeah but he got much better as the season went along. First month he was really struggling. Hope he hits the ground proverbial running this year.

Ranking NFL WR, TE, RB groups for 2025: Bills 28/32?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Lionel Hutz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nobody woukd put Odunze and Jr in the same class as Coleman at this point. That may change. Like others have said, make Coleman go watch Anquan Boldin video. If Coleman is a low tier #1 WR that is plenty good enough for this offense. I still have hope for Kincaid but my favorite player besides Allen is Knox. I hope Knox still gets plenty of chances. Kelce is in decline. Cook is the best skill player on both those teams. By year's end Kincaid will probably produce more than Kelce. Shakir is probably a better #3 WR than the Chiefs but their 1,2,4, and 5 are probably better than the Bills. -
A bit?? Its crushing!! And its not revisionist history either. We were all screaming for him in real time during the draft. He's the second best player on the team in my opinion. Guys like Brown, Benford, Dawkins, Shakir and Rousseau are in that conversation as well.
