  1. As long as this off-season they are correcting past mistakes, why not go get Jason Peters and let him finish his HOF career back in Buffalo with a SB win!!!!
  2. Did you watch the KC game? Have you seen what they have done this off-season? They are going to run more and use more two TE sets. I'm not opposed to drafting a WR. But they need to address CB and OL as well.
  3. If they keep Edmunds which I assume they will, then they do not need to add a linebacker. Therefore a safety in the top 4 picks is fine just not in the first two rounds. They have bigger needs at CB and OL. CB, OT, WR, S, then get a P. Almost every team needs to count on a rookie to contribute. Very rare to have what happened in Tampa Bay last year where they returned 22 starters. Bills have gaping hole at CB#2(that assumes White is ready to go) and OG. If they let Bates walk that pretty much leaves Ford starting again ant guard. And that assumes Brown doesn't regress at RT. The DL looks much improved but there are still issues that Beane needs to address in the draft. He has set himself up well to fill the spots he needs.
  4. Zay Jones got $8M per season and $14M of a $24M deal guaranteed. Landy is far better than Jones. It only takes one team with a need and cap space to over pay
  5. Yes Brown should start but its fair to say he struggled a lot at times.
  6. Love the enthusiasm!!! If you want to believe they have the true #1 defense I'm not raining on your parade today. Go BIlls!!!!
  7. Right I mean how stupid would it be to think Allen and Bills could lose to the Jags or blow a lead with 13 seconds. Super dumb.
  8. I don't understand your post. Yes I do look at stats because those represent facts. I also realize a player can do his job in any facet of the game and not get credited with a stat. My argument is between Kumerow, Jones, and Matakevich, who have little to no use on offense or defense, there are three roster spots taken up for a very limited number of plays. At least Neal can play some defense. I wouldn't pay Neal what he is getting paid but at least he can play defense.
  9. Chiefs in 2022 will be like the Bills in 1992. They are going to lose the division to the Chargers but still at least make the AFC Championship game.
  10. No dollars released as far as I could find. 5 days to match. Beane has spent most of his money already so he can take the full 5 days to decide what to do.
  11. 8 tackles in 19 games in 2021/2 Waste of money and a roster spot
  12. Fair amount of revisionist history in this thread. There were a number of posters that had their doubts about Allen after year 2. You know who you are. That said there were legit concerns. His deep ball accuracy was still a major issue after year two. And the stats don’t lie. 58.8% completion in year 2 is horrible. What was a sign of future success was his TD/INT ratio improvement in year 2. Keep in mind Lamar Jackson is winning the MVP,Allen losing to Watson in the playoffs with worries about hero ball, and Mahommes is going to the SuperBowl at the same time. I believe we all saw glimpses of greatness from Allen. But to say it was obvious he was going to make the massive improvement from year 2 to year 3 is disingenuous.
  13. Yes in 1982 it was. Football evolved. TEs that can block and catch replaced fullback a long time ago. It will be very interesting to see what Dorsey does this year with formations. If Howard can stay healthy they will have two credible TE threats and both better than the Metzellars/McKeller combo.
  14. If they get comp picks for Wallace and Trubisky they will be higher than 7th round picks. Still net positive in signings. Probably would need Sanders, Hughes, and Addison to all sign elsewhere
  15. Wasn't that outrageous. It was more confusing than anything else But c/w how this regime works. They value their own and Sweeney was an unknown given his OCVID issues and he flashed a little in his rookie year. I would have kept Hollister and cut Gilliam. But then again I would have kept just about any player over Gilliam.
  16. Ok I said in another thread I was happy with all the moves Beane has made. Well this one makes zero sense. Barkley simply can't play. He is awful. If you want him in the QB room, make him a coach. No reason to carry 3 QBs. Allen and Keenum and a practice squad arm is all they should have on the roster.
  17. At the time last year Morse was being asked to take a pay cut and was looking like a salary cap cut. I agree he played better in 2021 than he did in 2020. Remember he was a healthy scratch for the Cardinals game in 2020. Humphrey on a rookie deal would have been much better than Basham short and long term. Like I said water under the bridge. Morse played better and Basham was at least getting some reps by year's end.
  18. We had a great off-season last year too. I thought Beane did a great job bring back his own guys in Milano, Wallace, and Williams and of course extending Allen. He upgraded WR with Sanders. He also got some gusy to take pay cuts. This off-season so far looks even better. I don't worship at the altar of Beane like some others on this board and disagree with some moves, but I can't fault any move so far this off-season. I may have brought back Sanders over Crowder and may have tried to keep Wallace for the small dollars he signed in Pittsburgh. But assuming they draft a CB high I'm absolutely fine with the direction so far. I just hope he has the right coaching staff to get the job done.
  19. Agree about concern for OL. A lot is riding on Brown playing well at RT. Beane screwed the pooch not drafting Creed Humphrey last year. He would have started at guard and been the heir apparent for Morse. Water under the bridge. With Morse extension and Saffold deal, the shift now has to be getting a quality OT that will push Bates for a starting job at guard. Bates then goes back to utility infielder role. Your rookie OT that starts at guard then becomes your swing OT. If Ford can improve just a little then he becomes your backup guard and if all goes well probably doesn't dress for most games. Doyle is the 3rd TE and true emergency OT that dresses for each game.
  20. Of all the things people say Beane does and doesn't do which are erroneous, this one is correct. He has made multiple trades up in the draft to pick certain players (Allen, Edmunds,Knox) but I believe every one was using picks in the same draft. I cant recall a single trade giving up a future draft pick to move up in the draft. He gave away a 3rd for Kelvin Benjamin and obviously a 1st for Diggs.
  21. Going all in does not mean wasting draft picks moving up. To me going all in is using the draft to fill the hole at CB and still provide needed depth at OL and WR. Given the depth in this draft at CB and WR, the right move is to trade down and get a fourth pick in the top 100. Then take CB, WR, OT, and LB in no particular order. A safety instead of a LB would be an option to. Then get a guard and a punter in round 4 and 5. Trade the rest of the picks away.
  22. Ojabo tore his Achilles not his ACL. I dont think I would get cute. If there is a quality CB at #25 take him and probably take another one later in the draft. White is coming off ACL tear and Jackson is a 7th round talent forced into action.
  23. Interesting. My initial thought is I would rather just have Sanders back. Board seems to think it was a good move so I will defer to those that have followed him more closely than I have. Still think they take a WR in the first two rounds
  24. Except... Best WR in football, Adams was just acquired by the Raiders in free agency. Amari Cooper acquired by trade. JuJu signed in FA. Diggs acquired via trade. Hopkins changed teams two years ago. Added the bust rate for WR is 11 percentage points higher than an OT (30.3% vs 19.0%) Conversely the All-Pro and Pro-Bowl rate for first round OT's is 4-7 percentage points higher than WR. Further the success/bust rates for interior linemen in the first round is even better than OT. So basically, you are better off drafting OL in the first round and finding your star WR via FA or trade. While that sounds good, what do you do at CB? I agree they should address OL in top 3 rounds but they need CB and WR too.
