  1. I disagree with you but kudos to posting a contrarian viewpoint. Nothing wrong with that and Bills history for TE development certainly is awful. I think Knox is the most physically gifted TE Bills have ever had and I've been a proponent of him since his mid rookie year. I think your logic is a bit flawed in terms of it being a decision between Knox and Davis. If you are thinking about money spent on offense the next decision might be Singletary or Davis. And if Davis has a breakout year that is a no brainer.
  2. Great job Beane. Knox is a budding superstar and they got him extended at a fair price. Now just let the Edmunds situation play itself out. If he plays better then tag and extend him next off season. If not let him walk, get the comp pick, draft his replacement, and use the money to keep Oliver.
  3. Knox first Bills' TE to ever go to a ProBowl Knox will break TE yards I could see the WR TD mark being surpassed as well.
  4. Good topic. To some degree it depends on the opponent. Usually begins Wednesday when I watch the preview of the game on YouTube. Oddly I get less nervous when traveling to home or away game in person than I do when I watch at home.
  5. 100% agree. The whole line with the exception of Morse played poorly for the first 3/4ths of the season. Dawkins' turnaround was remarkable. Moving Williams to guard and playing Brown even with his uneven play was a big upgrade and then of course Bates played well. Lots of question marks this year but on paper they should be a better unit to start 2022 than they were to start 2021.
  6. Thats probably true. Honestly I'd be fine if he threw a few more 50/50 balls. Diggs and Davis fight for the ball well even though they don't have elite size. They position themselves well and of course there is a chance to draw a PI.
  7. Uber to the MetLife in NJ from NYC was super easy. Getting back to NYC from Giants stadium was a nightmare.
  8. I think it depends on the throw. I've posted this before but I think Allen may be the best QB in history throwing the deep out, curl, or crossing pattern. I can't think of another QB better at throwing to a spot 15-25 yards dowfield. I think other QBs have better touch on the deep seam and fly routes. Its a tic tac critique but Allen still throws those balls too flat instead of putting the proverbial "air under the ball".
  9. I think there is something to that. Bills played in really bad weather especially at home. Rain and wind was terrible last season.
  10. My guess is the optimal win formula is for the QB to pass for250-275 and your RBs to combine for 125-150. That said, to win consistently in modern NFL you need a QB and an offense that is capable of putting up 400 pass yards when needed OR a legendary defense. Bills have the QB. Lets hope Dorsey is a capable OC and the defensive front 7 is better.
  11. The only criticism I have of Allen's game is his deep ball accuracy. He is much improved but he still has a tendency to overthrow open guys. I don't recall many passes that were too far inside or outside. I also don't recall thinking once last year that Allen was fooled on any play. He had some poor throws as all QBs do. But as far as being fooled by coverage I don't see it.
  12. Hmmm... Bills played all those teams too plus Washington and their terrible QB. Bills played the worst collection of QBs in history last season. Saints essentially played a fullback at QB. Belichick made the playoffs with a rookie QB. As others have said, he is a terrible Gm, seems like a terrible person, but single game strategy is unequaled in NFL history. Look no further than their first and last SB wins. Pats defense stopped the Greatest Show on Turf and then held the newest genius OC to only 260 yards and 3 points. While I now believe Brady has moved past Montana. I would still put Bill Walsh ahead of Belichick. My top coaches are 1. Walsh 2. Belichick 3. Shula 4. Noll 5. Parcells. Lombardi, Madden, Landry, and Gibbs are just outside of the top 5. I don't know enough about Paul Brown or many other very early NFL coaches to rank them.
  13. I am going with Knox on offense. I think he is the most talented TE the Bills have had since the merger. And I'm going to go with Tremaine Edmunds on defense. I am a big critic of his play but this is the game he is supposedly tailor-made to make an impact. Rams are a past first underneath to middle distance throwing team. This is where Edmunds is supposed to make a huge difference. He is in a contract year in a nationally televised game. If there was ever a time to show up big, it is this week. He will have the best DL in front of him he has ever had in his career. Time to earn that extension Mr. Edmunds.
  14. Why Frasier? They called time out before each play. You don't think McDermott had input on those two play calls? And we have listened to two months of nonsense about how important special teams are and why they need to take up roster spots, but yet he fails to communicate to the kicker on what to do at the most crucial moment. McD has to get better if they are to win it all this year OR Allen simply needs to overcome his coaching shortcomings, like Peyton did with Dungy.
  15. Physically and talent wise I agree Allen is better than Kelly in all aspects of the game save one. Deep ball touch and accuracy. Allen still struggles with his deep ball. Allen and Rodgers are probably the greatest deep out or curl patterns QBs of all time. No one has thrown those passes better. But on deep seam, post, or fly patterns Allen still struggles. Kelly dropped those passes in the WR hands on a regular basis. He could hit Lofton on a high arching pass or Reed on a deep cross in perfect stride.
  16. 100% agree. The coaching staff cost us a SB win. We know that, the players know it, and so does Beane. McDermott is safe this year no matter what occurs. He has accomplished too much to part ways with him this year. No Superbowl this year or next and McDermott then has to go.
  17. Sanders for this year alone would be more valuable than Shakir as the primary backup to Davis. He can still play. That said, Shakir is a nice developmental prospect. I wish Hughes was DE#3 but the playing time for Epenesa and Basham will be invaluable this year to evaluate if they are long term options for the Bills.
  18. White is going to miss a quarter of the season at least and was not playing at his usual All-Pro level prior to injury. We have no idea how well he will play when he returns so I would not put him in top 100. Miller I can understand given his age. He is a significant upgrade over Hughes and the best pass rusher Bills have had since Mario Williams. However he's three years removed since his last double digit sack year and he has 17.5 sacks total in the last three years. There might be 4 guys that put up 17.5 sacks this season. That said he was incredible during the Rams playoff run. That is what we need him for. Keep him fresh for the games that will matter most. I've posted several times that Dawkins played his best football ever late last season. He has never been considered an elite LT, but I think he can be considered a top 4-6 LT if he plays at the same level this year. I think he can be a top 100 guy. Morse had nice bounce back year too. If the guard play if better around him this season, he could also elevate into that top 5-7 category.
  19. Love how Beane can just make ***** up like wanted a veteran punter, when they had just given the job to a rookie. No one in the media even bothers to say yeah but???
  20. Ugh, I put the over/under on Colts wins at 12.5 now. They are the team to beat for top seed. Their division is garbage.
  21. My ranking of the elite QBs 1. Allen 2. Rodgers 3. Mahomes 4. Herbert 5. Brady 6. Wilson 7. Burrow There are other guys that can consistently win and a handful of young guys that it is too soon to know how good or bad the will be. I would not be shocked if Brady is off this list by mid-season. He has skill players but now has a suspect o-line. That is not good at his age even with his quick release and ability to slide in the pocket.
  22. 13-4 if they play to win the final game. My guess is they have division and home field advantage wrapped up by then. So they may rest guys and finish 12-5. I think only Indianapolis in a division with no competition has a better chance at #1 seed. But I have no faith in Ryan. The North and West teams will cannibalize each other. I would not be shocked if they go 4-3 to start and still finish 13-4.
  23. I'm going to guess they put Stevenson on IR and elevate Austin to 53 when they are first able to do so.
  24. That's a good breakdown. He couldn't get open at Oregon State either but he has some size and good hands. That's correct
