  1. That is not really an accurate statement on last year. Beane re-signed Milano, Williams and Wallace. The first two were unrestricted free agents and he added Sanders who was an upgrade over Brown. That was four significant moves that all played big roles in 2021. You can't bash Beane for sitting out FA when he re-signed his own free agents. Not upgrading TE#2 and the pass rush during the season are reasonable criticisms. Waiting to see how the rookies, Epenesa, Ford, and Sweeney would perform were all reasonable decisions. Not doing anything after several games is where Beane failed us.
  2. I'm too lazy to look up how many of those FA signings are true free agents or how many were cuts. But my guess is signing that many guys eliminates the two comp picks they will get for Wallace and Trubisky. I'd rather see Williams on the team at RG even if that means his salary is unchanged. A pay cut or restructure would be a good outcome. No need to sign a punter in FA. Just draft one. As for the draft picks. No thanks. They need to go CB#2 in the first round. They don't need a late round RB. Without Klein they need to add a young LB in the drafts middle rounds.
  3. Saints game foreshadowed other games where the defense simply collapses under McDermott. I flew to see the Chsrgers game. Most miserable experience I have ever had at a Bills game. This game also foreshadowed McDermott's poor personnel choices. Starting Peterman on the road while Bills were in playoff contention was unconscionable. I left at halftime. I liked TT more than most on this board. I fell for his low turnover rate. If he could play the Dolphins every week he would be in the HOF...lol. Having made the playoffs and ending the drought, there was no way I was not going to that game. I flew with my son to Jacksonville. So disappointing. TT was awful. If be hits a wide open Clay(I think it was him) on an easy TD pass Bills take a lead and probably win. But really the whole team was bad and McD's defense collapses again allowing Bortles' running to win the game.
  4. Wagner is a future HOF inductee that still has a few years of great football in him Someone will pay him
  5. Thanks for posting. His foot speed looks good. Ran away from most LBs and even some DBs were having trouble catching him
  6. Gronk, Howard, or a draft pick. Don't waste your cap on anyone else
  7. No they screw it up with guys that aren't any good - see Star, Murphy, Addison, Butler, Jefferson, Feliciano etc....
  8. You must know there are multiple ways to deal with his contract and make it happen. Please don't call people stupid.
  9. Seattle probably said the same thing with Wilson 2 years ago. If you are not all in to win the SB now, then you are playing the wrong game.
  10. Close your eyes and for a moment imagine the Jets drafting Allen. Then evaluate Beane's performance. It has been filled with ups and downs. Diggs trade was amazing. Keeping Milano and Johnson was good. The contracts for Star and Murphy and some of the other dead weight he has acquired have been really bad. Even the decent FA signings like Morse and Williams were overpriced. His drafts outside of Allen are good not great - Bass, Knox, Davis, Oliver all solid picks. Apparent terrible misses on Ford, Epenesa, and maybe Moss. Edmunds is a story in and of itself. Without Allen, it's conceivable both Beane and McDermott would have been fired by now. But even with their mistakes Allen makes up for all of it.
  11. We have to reserve judgment until we see the entire body of work for Beane this off-season. If you just look at it today, then all you get is two special teams players re-signed and quality depth at LB and OL gone. The team is arguably worse today than it was after the season ended, other teams are already better, and some but not much improvement on the cap has been made. But it's early. It's ok to criticize the moves Beane makes but it is really hard to criticize the moves he doesn't make until we see how the whole off-season unfolds. That said, a player who would be a significant upgrade to our defense was had for a 2nd round pick and change. Yes he is expensive but his contract could have been reworked to make it happen.
  12. Nope if they trade Edmunds I just want a draft pick this year. Get a 2nd round pick this year or a #1 in 2023. 3-4? Can;t see that happening. First they have no NT on the roster. Oliver likely can't play DE. And has McD or Frazier ever coached a 3-4? Not that I am aware of.
  13. Rodgers, Dak, and Stafford. Is there any other capable QB in the NFC?
  14. Oh that is a good way of framing the question. I think I would take Lawson over Obada too
  15. Yikes calling people clueless and being wrong on the basic facts is bold. His contract is guaranteed but the contract goes with him. He has zero dead cap if he is traded.
  16. Not sure why he would want to come back here. The coaching staff screwed him over by playing Murphy ahead of him. Lawson was clearly the better player. Somehow he still got a great deal from the Dolphins and then the injuries set in. I think I'd still take Hughes on a 1 yr deal over Lawson for 2022. Jerry still got decent pressure just not the sacks. Basham came on towards the end of the season and seems to be a guy that could everything that Lawson would. At some point they are going to have to trust that at least one of these draft picks will emerge as a 10 sack guy. My priorities for the defense are CB#2, 1-tech DT, depth and youth at safety, and now depth at LB with Klein being released. Yes I would like to move on from Edmunds but unless they sign Wagner 2022 is not the year to make a switch at MLB. Too many other issues to address and maybe Edmunds had a breakout year in a contract year.
  17. This is different. Guys like Wagner do not hit the open market often. He is a clear upgrade over Edmunds. He is everything that Edmunds is not. Edmunds will do more good in 2022 for the Bills if he is traded and the draft pick they get in return is used on a CB, DT, or OG
  18. That's exaclty what I said to him. I dont think anything hurt worse than seeing Thurman in a Dolphins jersey. Who said they are committed to Edmunds? They are only committed until there is a better opportunity. Wagner is the superior player by far even at his age. Edmunds will never be anything more than an average MLB. Trade him and get a high pick to help the OL and or DL.
  19. Beane screwed up last year. If he is not all in this year to do everything to win the SB this year then he should be fired. He got the QB now go get the ring.
  20. Trade Edmunds to Seattle for one of the picks they just acquired. My son is a Seahawks fan and he is just devestated today.
  21. Please please go sign him and trade Edmunds away. Please dear God make this happen.
  22. Thank you. I stand corrected. I was looking at the cap hits Seattle would incur but you are correct Buffalo's cap hits would be less. Still pricey for #2 WR and he will be 30 this year. I'd prefer Metcalf and the ability to sign him and Diggs to extensions. You are correct on this time period. I cant defend their moves because you are correct they have been terrible lately. All started with trading away Max Unger and some really poor first round picks.
