  1. Another thing that is weird: the NHL point standing system. Both regulation and overtime wins are 2 point each, but an overtime loss is 1 point. So, an overtime loss is worth more than a regulation loss, but a regulation win is worth no more than an overtime win? Is a complete game 2 or 3 points? Shouldn't it be something like 3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for an overtime win, and 1 point for an overtime loss?
  2. Not really relevant to this thread, but this got me thinking of other systems beside QB rating, not based on 10, most likely for good reason. Things I thought of: Wonderlic scores GPA many (all?) college entrance exams (SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, etc.) imperial units (English measuring system: length, area, mass, weight, volume) Fahrenheit scale (temperature) BMI Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) Elo rating system (mostly used in chess) time, including calendar systems astronomical system of units (such as light years) many medical systems, like cancer tumor stages radio spectrum (AM, FM)?? Obviously, there are many more.
  3. In this video, at about 0:18, Judon appears to try to punch Allen or the ball when he is down, but then offers him a hand getting up: https://www.nfl.com/videos/josh-allen-s-best-plays-from-3-td-game-week-16
  4. Good idea! Let's add to this poll: Threads with just a link, and no description or opinion. We get to be surprised if we click on the link. This is laziness, or a rush to be the first to post it. Threads with a post full of typos, grammatical errors, and/or no punctuation or paragraphing. Threads with a mystery or vague title (which the poster is trying to entice you to open to read his content). Threads where the poster can't get the player's name right, sometimes repeatedly (Who is "Levon"??!!). Thread where the poster never comes back and posts again. Threads wanting any player whom a team cuts, even if they suck. Threads advocating to draft a certain player, at least before the season ends. Threads saying it's the end of the world and let's fire McBeane any time after any Bills loss. Troll threads, especially disguised as supporting the Bills. Many (but certainly not all) of the threads started by new posters. Threads where the poster just wants attention, even if they try to be nice (I guess that falls under troll threads). Threads repeating a topic, especially if it is currently posted on the first page. Threads violating the COC. Threads where the poster just wants a fight, or is very combative, or is not really wanting to listen to other opinions. "Call out" threads (although there haven't been many on this site--credit to the moderators, I guess?). What else?
  5. Buffalo has made the AFC Conference Championship Game five times in the past before last season (1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993). We made the playoffs the next year in four of those five years, so we have a pretty good track record. Just saying...
  6. Uh, what?? What kind of fans are these? We were a play away from beating them last time when we were working on just half a cylinder.
  7. Mckittrick must be a relative of Levon? Or maybe Ryan Fitzgerald? [OP: edit your title, if you can.]
  8. Good points. There is also a very outside chance we play him a pre-season game, but that almost certainly won't happen, since Tampa Bay is too far away (unless maybe it is the Hall of Fame Game, but Brady wouldn't be playing in that).
  9. Colin Cowherd was just discussing this incident on his show today. He basically said "embarrassed" was a trigger word, and Sullivan lost the interviewees with that question. He said he violated a cardinal rule of journalism. From there on, they wouldn't respect what he said. He said Sullivan was trying to make a name for himself. His co-host, Joy, said that a journalist should never become the news story. He went on to say Buffalo was the better team last night, and won the statistical battle. He thought the Bills were going to win when they were in the red zone twice at the end of the game. Absent two good runs by New England, they only averaged 3.1 yards a carry.
  10. Well, easy to say this in retrospect, but it was a bad omen, lol. Well, you were close. 46 carries according to the boxscore. 😞
  11. Thanks for finding and posting this. From the article: "The Recovery Tre’Davious White will need supreme conditioning of his thighs. Adrian Peterson famously came back in eight months to play after his ACL surgery. However, the average time it takes to return to play in the NFL is 10.8 months (4). With an estimated surgical date of December 16th, White should be back in October or November 2022. Barring an expedited recovery, White is a strong candidate to start next season on the PUP list." Video of the injury happening:
  12. Quick summary of the video if this hasn't been posted already: Worst weather cites: 1. Buffalo 2. Green Bay 3. Cleveland 4. Miami 5. Pittsburgh Based on 5 weather factors gathered from the National Weather Service 1991-2020: heat, precipitation, snow, cold, wind Only outdoors stadiums were considered (20 in all), not domes or those with retractable roofs. No, according to the conditions given in the video. No dome or retractable roofs allowed.
  13. I'm greedy: I want the #1 seed. We need the Pats to beat Tennessee. I am probably being optimistic, but I think we can sweep the Patriots, and they are not that good as people think they are.
  14. Weird. Carson Palmer was on the Dan Patrick (I think) radio show last week, and he was positive about the Bills after their loss to Jacksonville, saying there is nothing to worry about and that all teams have a bad game and there were some injuries. He said (at that time) the Bills were still the favorites in the AFC for the SB. I was going to post this last week, but didn't have time.
  15. This is Tasker's final year of regular eligibility before gong to the Coach/Senior Committee (players go to there in their 25th year of retirement). Let's do it!
  16. I look forward to your weekly write-ups Virgil! We are definitely not in the driver's seat for the #1 seed, but we are still in control for the division title...we just have to win to keep pace with New England, then beat them in two weeks (a big if, but I'll take that at this point and hope we come strong for the playoffs).
  17. In 1980, Buffalo had a 14-0 lead at the Colts. Then we lost. Let's hope the reverse happens here.
  18. Nice post! Thanks for doing the research. Also: The 2003 14-2 Patriots lost 31-0 to the 6-10 Bills (and 20-17 to 5-11 Washington). [FTR, the 2014 Patriots also lost 17-9 to 9-7 Buffalo in the season finale.]
  19. Actually, this loss was strictly on the poster who started that thread wondering how much Trubisky should play and that the Bills would win easily.
