Josh Allen and the Quest for 6,000 Yards
Nextmanup replied to ArtVandalay's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have to say, I don't care about this kind of stuff AT ALL. Just totally uninterested. The only stats in sports that impress me are championships. You gotta love Henri Richard with 11 Stanley Cups. LOL.... Now that's impressive. -
Yep, big time. No more NFC East teams in the big dance, if we can avoid it.

Josh Allen is the best quarterback, no... player in the NFL
Nextmanup replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is probably just my Bills colored glasses talking, but I think it's quite possible Josh Allen is the greatest PERSON in the world. Forget football player. Person. -
Green Bay claims Bills 6th round pick Luke Tenuta (T) off waivers

Any relation to Judy Tenuta? -
Did we just teach the NFL how to defend against KC?

I'm already sick of the idea that Von Miller somehow imprinted his name all over the game and took it over. He was not much of a factor for most of the game, as is always the case for big name edge rushers. Then he gets a sack and boom, he's a superstar. He made several big plays at big moments, and did lots of nothing for long stretches....maybe that's good enough. And let's not forget all those defensive snaps when he isn't even on the field. -
"Travel" is so glamourous.

McCoy is a scumbag....regardless of whether or not he played for the Bills for a while on meaningless teams.

I just had a look at that, but will have to read it later when I have a lot more time. I'll get back to you; I'm interested to see what the study says, though don't confuse the results of a study as "fact."

I didn't notice this before! Watch the replay in this video, and keep your eyes on Jones the entire time. Follow him as he runs away from Allen, after the trip, with Allen and the ref behind Jones. As Jones is getting close to the edge of the screen, he throws his arms up, not in celebration of his play, but with that guilty way of saying "I didn't do anything; it wasn't me!" I think he heard the whistle and somehow interpreted it to mean "penalty." So he went all defensive, because he knows he's guilty. I never noticed that! Without this evidence it's obvious he intentionally tripped Josh, but this destroys any defense that guy has!

If we could somehow combine Milano's natural football IQ and instinct for the game with Edmunds' natural athleticism and size, we'd have another Lawrence Taylor.

Lots of Bills talk in Peter King's FMIA column this morning

I really enjoyed this piece, so thanks for posting it. I'm not totally sure I agree with his thesis, that Von stamped his name all over the game yesterday, but he definitely came huge at some huge moments, which is maybe good enough. It was a fun read! -
Renovations One of the entrances to the stadium On April 4, 2006, Jackson County voters approved a tax increase to finance municipal bonds to pay for $850 million in renovations to Arrowhead Stadium and nearby Kauffman Stadium.[31] Before the bond election, the NFL awarded the 49th Super Bowl in 2015 to Kansas City provided it would have a climate-controlled stadium. With the passing of the stadium bill, the Chiefs signed a new lease which ensures that the team will remain at Arrowhead until at least 2031.[32] However, a second bond issue to build the rolling roof shared with Kauffman Stadium that was part of the original 1967 stadium plan was defeated by voters, and Kansas City chose to withdraw its request to host Super Bowl XLIX in 2015; the game was played at the University of Phoenix Stadium (now State Farm Stadium) in Glendale, Arizona.[33] On August 15, 2007, the Chiefs announced final plans for the renovated Arrowhead Stadium, which would cost $375 million. The cost to the city was reduced by $50 million thanks to an additional payment by the Hunt family, which originally had intended to donate $75 million. The renovated stadium features the Chiefs Hall of Honor, a tribute to Lamar Hunt, and "horizon level" seating in which luxury suite owners sit outdoors.[34] Reconstruction for the stadiums started on October 3, 2007. Refurbishment of nearby Kauffman Stadium, home to the Kansas City Royals baseball team, commenced at that time, and both completely-refurbished stadiums were ready for play by the 2010 season.[35] In 2019, the Chiefs announced multiple renovations for the 2020 season, which included replaced seats in the lower level, a new video display on the East end, and locker room upgrades.[3

I think we are the slightly better team right now. I definitely do not think KC has regressed this year; I think they are stronger than they were last year, have better defense, and the loss of Hill has not slowed them nearly as much as I thought. In fact, it hasn't really slowed them at all. Assuming we do enough winning to get to the game, KC will be standing there waiting for us in the playoffs. Let's just hope that game is in Orchard Park! I think that has to help us. It may well be the first playoff game Mahomes ever plays in an unfamiliar stadium, which you would think would upset him a little bit. Definite communication problems for Chiefs in OP as well...and no such problems for Josh.

The guy I utterly FEAR losing is Brand Beane. McDermott? He's replaceable. Josh? He's one in a million...all I ask is that the franchise does everything on Earth it can to replace him with another top talent when Josh's time is over, and not, for example, draft 4 QBs in a 20 year period of time.

I don't believe in "momentum" in sports. That's not a real thing. Player psychology is a real thing, though, and this drive was huge at the time at keeping our confidence high, so in that sense, it was important. I also would NOT call it a "turning point."

Fans greeting returning team at the airport (as we do...)
Nextmanup replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
*some of the people of Buffalo* I have many good friends who were born and bred in WNY, have lived there their whole lives, and absolutely were not greeting the Bills last night, and may very well not have known they played a football game yesterday. Keep things in perspective. He's already doing all he can to land OBJ here, and all OBJ has to do is agree to take our money, show up for a handful of games, and win an outstanding shot at winning a second Super Bowl. Why not if you are him? I think it will happen. The players and people associated with the actual football team need to stay sharp, not the fans! These types of comments, which we see all the time here, are idiotic. No offense. -
NEW RULE: on 3rd or 4th and short, don't start the play by first pitching the ball back 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage. NEW RULE: when ball is inside the 5 yard line, ALL PLAYS are JOSH RUNS WITH OPTION TO PASS until the touchdown is scored. NEW RULE: Keep these rules until they consistently don't work anymore

All officiating crews are reviewed after every game, and the best crews are awarded playoff games and the SB. So yes, that will for sure serve to make this ref down, at least you would hope. It was immediately obvious that it was intentional the moment I saw it. I can't believe the referee standing right there did NOT call it.

Wait, you've actually been there and talked to them? Well that's no fun! It's so much easier to judge with blind ignorance!
