  1. Wrong.... you have to spend 89% of your salary cap. It’s required. So I guess that spending slightly over the salary cap floor is proof that Ralph wasn’t cheap, eh? Solid logic.
  2. Without Pete Rozelle, Ralph wouldn’t own the Bills. Who cares!? That’s not what I’m asking That’s why I asked this question - Ralph was the same way with the Bills, as Terry is with the Sabres
  3. Right, so my guess is that Sully didn’t make much of a difference to their ad revenue. They probably figured they could pull a similar rating and advertising rates with Bobby Rosati or using national content from ESPN radio
  4. That’s more because of his longevity and his role as an early NFL opener. It’s not because of the good decisions he’s made. He’s made a lot more BAD decisions than good
  5. I completely disagree. The Bills lost for 17 years because Ralph repeatedly empowered the wrong people and was afraid to hire from the outside. From a football standpoint, Ralph was a terrible owner
  6. This is super deceiving - the three men you mentioned were paid through the salary cap. Ralph HAD to spend that money and it was fully guaranteed and subsidized by the NFL TV’s contract. Ralph WAS cheap when it came to coaches, GM’s and other front office hired. His track record speaks for itself
  7. That’s too bad, because to be fair Sully had a good radio show. He always brought on good guests and like him or not, it was another opinion where you could get Bills coverage. It was pretty apparent that no one was listening. They’d plug the phone line and literally no one would call.
  8. it’s a quiet time on the Bills front, so I had an idea to have what should be an interesting poll. I don’t follow the Sabres too closely but I’ve been taken back at how hopeless the fanbase feels about the franchise...namely Terry Pegula. Fans are heavily blaming Pegula for the Sabres failures in the same way that many of us blamed Ralph back in the day. People are pissed at Pegula, and the fanbase seems pretty bleak Who in your opinion was the better owner - Ralph Wilson with the Bills or Terry Pegula as Sabres Owner? Or course, the sample size is limited but it’s an interesting question. If we are talking NFL, I think you could say that what Terry has done over the past 6 years has been better than what Ralph accomplished over his decade of ownership. But you have to factor in Terry the owner of the Bills and Sabres. With the Bills he made a few mistakes for sure (hiring Rex Ryan/not firing Doug Whaley) but the organization appears to be in a very stable spot. The Sabres are an entirely different story. Much like the Bills, the Sabres have been held back by a lack of vision, poor decisions and turnover at GM/HC....just like the Drought teams. Worse - they’ve lost A LOT and failed to make the playoffs for an unusually long time. You can also argue that Terry, like Ralph, empowered the wrong people, hired leaders without a vision or without knowledge or ability how to carry out that vision, and that he held onto to those leaders for too long. This is a tough question for me... Because both of their tenures have been very unremarkable. I might have to give a slight edge to Terry only because he at least tried to be proactive in hiring different GM’s and coaches when things weren’t working. Terry also doesn’t seem to be happy with losing. He’s also tried to reach outside the organization to hire. Ralph tended to keep bad people in power for a very long time until it was obvious they needed to go. Ever since he fired Donahoe, he spend an nearly entire only hiring people he had previously known.
  9. It’s a moot point. I don’t think they Bills were ever going to sign him to a monster deal
  10. Dumb... if they pass on a WR it won’t be for a RB. They’ll go DE
  11. Would you be ok with signing Olsen and turning the page on Tyler Kroft? Maybe Lee Smith too? ...or he wants to end his career playing for a coach he knows and respects?
  12. Hooper probably will be the highest paid TE by the time FA ends. I can’t see the Bills spending that kind of money on a tight end. Olsen fits the profile of the player they are looking for.
  13. KC will cut Sammy for the simple that they want to get Mahomes under contract long term ASAP...and why not? You can’t be paying a #3WR $16M a year when you probably could get the same production from Merocole Hardman as #3 WR.
  14. I don’t like listening to her either. What annoyed w is that on Friday they had on Sam Monson of PFF....you know the site that has been notoriously hard on the Bills and Josh Allen all season. Not one question all interview about the Bills or Josh Allen. Just SB talk. I thought that was a crappy vanilla interview. Tasker is to blame probably more than Maddy
  15. But didn’t he score a TD in the Super Bowl before?
  16. This has to be super disappointing for Shady. He’s probably happy for his teammates but man, he has to be bummed.
  17. If you are basing this on performance on the field then maybe. But he also seemingly had a huge impact on Devin. I didn’t have a problem with the Gore signing early in the year. He seemed to be running very strong but as the year wore on he got worse. I think he should’ve been inactive toward the end.
  18. I wouldn’t put much stock into this competition. How many QB’s could make every throw but take a dump when it comes to a game situation? Lamar’s kind of the opposite of that. I do agree that he is limited to throwing outside of the numbers
  19. This poor family. So much heartbreak over the past 6 months or so.
  20. I don’t see it. I believe that Beane wants to draft and retain and I don’t think that’s lip service. I just can’t see them shelling out that kind of money for a DE
  21. I love this pick and the fact that a rush for QB’s at the top (like there usually is) could possibly push the WR group down further. But I would love to have Tee Higgins For real - knowing McDermott, it would not shock me to see an Edge rusher be the pick
  22. Right after the trade went down, it was reported he didn’t he want to go to Buffalo and threatened to not report. But good old Doug Whaley gave him a phat contract to make him happy. To his credit, he did really embrace Buffalo
  23. Honestly, he’s an ultra competitive and very proud athlete so he probably has a lot of mixed feelings. Shady is super conscious of his legacy and he’s always wanted to go down as one of the greatest players to play the position. I’m sure he happy to be in a Super Bowl and happy for his teammates but knowing that he might not dress, and if he does dress it will as RB3, has to be a bit of a bummer. How can you think he’s nothing thinking this? I think he wanted to be THE man in the Super Bowl or at least a contributor, not just a player who can’t make it on the field. But at the end of the day if he can add “Super Bowl Champion” to his resume in the HOF that’s all that matters. Also while I’m sure he’s bummed (at least to a small extent) it doesn’t seem like he’s been a distraction this year. So given how he has handled this and the way he left Buffalo, I think Shady has shown a lot of growth as a person.
  24. In all fairness, why would you not want Shady to win a ring. For most of his career, he played good in Buffalo. He seemed to embrace the city and he wrote a classy statement after getting released. It’s not like he’s Donte Whiter. No reason to hope he doesn’t win
  25. Yes the team realized they were much better with Damien Williams and Darwin Thompson. It’s like TJ Yeldon in Buffalo. Instead of activating a 3rd string RB that won’t see the field much, you elect to active players for ST
