  1. Beane and McDermott have had 2 drafts which has yielded Josh Allen, Cody Ford, Devin Singletary, and Dawson know. Maybe you can say the jury the still out, but I don’t know how you can say these players “are not promising.” Qualify your response, because I think the output and potential has been promising True...some people are saying they’d rather have Tre White and Josh Allen, which is equally as silly as creating about the past. In both cases, fans need to move one
  2. At some point you just need to quit bitching and stop dwelling on the past. Teams miss on players every year. It sucks when it happens but how long are you going to cry about it? Bills fans, for reason, hold onto the past more than most teams.
  3. I’m with you... I just wish more fans felt this way. And yes, from what I’ve heard Bears fans were pretty miserable after watching this season play out
  4. Sure that’s true, but there were questions about Mahomes. If he turned out to be a Blake Bortles than the team really would have been set back. I think that given the circumstances, McDermott made a high-percentage decision and waited until the GM situation was better to draft a QB. It’s like the stock market, and he played it safe which I think is acceptable given all of the factors In doing so, he missed on an elite talent but I understand why it happened and am not perseverating on it. Yeah I think fans in Chicago are having this same conversation. But it’s worse for them since they did draft a QB. San Fran passed on him but since they are going to the Super Bowl, fans are good with a QB who passes 8 times
  5. I get that fans are upset watching a great QB like Mahomes but I just wanted add some context to a situation that wasn’t as obvious as some make it sound to be
  6. So many people forget this. He was high risk/high reward, but KC had the infrastructure to make it work. Many teams like Buffalo did not
  7. I agree...sorry for lumping you in with that type of fan Ok you knew better but the majority of fans didn’t feel that way.
  8. At the time, most fans were good with the compensation. It’s easy to look back now and say ww should have gotten more
  9. Right, but why didn’t he hire “his GM” in January? It’s been reported that Terry was hoping things would work with Doug. He was hoping McDermott and Whaley would work. This was a huge mistake IMO, because even if he wanted a QB, he didn’t have anyone he could trust to make that decision This was more of a result of TO in the front office that it was about McDermott making the pick: https://www.theringer.com/2017/5/4/16045442/nfl-buffalo-bills-gm-doug-whaley-fired-sean-mcdermott-d87e027bae86-d87e027bae86
  10. Spot on. This is the role of the traditional sports columnist. You either rip the home team or you rip the opponents of the home team. Either way, you elicit a reactions from fans who are glued to your every word. I get the impression though, that Sully is just a negative guy, in general
  11. No I know what you meant and I understand. I don’t blame you because I wanted Darnold in 2018 before the Jets traded up. I don’t take offense to anything and sorry if my response was too sarcastic. I’ve just been reading a LOT of tweets on this topic over the past 24 hours That’s what I’m saying. Any time he does something good it keeps coming up
  12. I was super pissed at Indy for making that trade. I wanted Darnold too and thought he was the best QB that year
  13. Again, I don’t think it’s as simple as you make it out to be. There were a lot that went into the decision in 2017. It’s not like the Bills we’re drafting a QB and chose someone else
  14. But was it fair for McDermott to be in that position in the first place? Don’t you feel that The Pegulas should have hired a General Manager in January 2017 and not kept a lame duck GM that he couldn’t trust? McDermott is not an offensive coach. I don’t blame him for not wanting to make the unilateral decision to select a QB without the benefit of having a scoring staff/GM that he trusted. I think the defining moment for McDermott has been making the playoffs 2 out of 3 years and lying a good foundation...but that’s me
  15. Ok then move on and stop saying things “oh, it’s so hard.” It makes it sound you are crying
  16. See what I mean - this guy is crying. “WAAAAAAA IT STINGS! IT STINGS!”????? Read the circumstances that went into the decision
  17. This is important as well. I don’t think he’d have the luxury to sit an entire year and learn behind a pretty good mentor QB. He also had great coaching in Reid, Nagy and Bienemy, a solid OL and All-Pro weapons like Kelce and Hill. I don’t think you can overlook this either
  18. Yep, to a degree this is part of it. Especially with Sully. There’s a “Sully” in every market - a columnist who tries to write provocative to get the fan base to react. Fairburn not so much
  19. I don’t think anyone can disagree, but some fans need to realize the factors that went into the decision (which I outlined) and the fact the in 2017 drafting Mahomes isn’t the no-brained that it is in 2020
  20. I agree. Not sure why Mahomes is any different. And it’s not just the Bills. It happens with EVERY franchise. I think you have to accept that these things happen and move on.
  21. I’ll change it.... but what I left out is the hundreds of tweets from Bills fans who were crying. To be fair - it wasn’t just Sully. Fairburn and other echoed the same sentiment and their reaction was in response to fans either complaining or trying to justify the Mahomes decision
