  1. But if they switched over in 2018, wasn’t that an entire year before they made the decision to get rid of the MB?
  2. Can someone tell me - what is the deal with Bruce Nolan? He had zero pictures of him online. Instead he used photos of Jim Carey. WTF Why has he gone to such lengths to conceal his ID. He doesn’t exactly have the most controversial takes and all of the other BR guys go by their regular names
  3. Wasn’t Shout! basically like the paper version of Chris Brown reporting?
  4. Did he basically say in the past, that they were looking to resign guys after the draft?
  5. It is the 3 year death of the Buffalo Bills Message Board. Some time around March 2017, the “powers that be” shut it down. The BBMB was legendary in its own way. It had some of the most hilarious takes and the posts were far more ridiculous than anything here. It always crashed on game day - especially after a loss! Bills fans clamored for hires like Russ Grimm as HC or Bryant Johnson at WR. There was also a lot of negativity that the mods would immediately shut down. You were also not allowed to criticize Ralph Wilson or Chris Brown. I’ve always wondered what happened and why after over a decade, the team suddenly wanted to shut it down. It survived many changes in administration, coaches and even an owner. But it was gone, shortly after two key changes within the org: Sean McDermott was hired in January 2017 Derek Boyko was hired in February 2017 Is it possible that McDermott or Boyko made the call to get rid of the BBMB? Boyko was officially hired on 2/23/17, but that doesn’t mean he started on that date. So if it was Boyko, this literally would have been the first thing he did since taking over. I don’t think he’d make moves so early into the job. But then again, it was closed immediately, without any warning. So perhaps it was a quick decision? If it was anyone else at OBD, why wasn’t the call made earlier? The message board had been around for over a decade and they saw no reason to shut it down before? That leads me to McDermott. He had been known to be a prepared, organized and an extremely hard worker. Is it possible that his thorough “process” could have included how the team was being presented online, and that he came across the BBMB and said “shut it down?” Like I said, there was a lot of negativity toward the team on the BBMB. The team had not made the playoffs in 16 seasons and they were rightfully getting ripped apart on their own website. It could be perceived as a bad look. And McDermott was all about changing culture.....everywhere. On the surface level, it seems pretty foolish to think that a coach would be focused on that and would instead have pressing issues. But again, McDermott is known to be thorough and detail-oriented. I know he redecorated the signage around the building and in the locker rooms. The timing just seems weird and I really wonder whether McDermott and/or Boyko were behind this decision. Anyone know who made the decision?
  6. now that they aren’t testing for pot, we’ll see the magic of this miraculous wonder drug!!!!!!!!! I can attest....Kirby’s been a proud pot head for a while
  7. How weird was it that Nickel Roby was a Nickel CB? I always thought that people skipped over the irony. It’s like a quarterback with a nick name “QB Smith”
  8. I don’t get it though - what changes? Does he just get paid more? That was a player issue.
  9. Ok I will give you this. While I think Gore was terrible the use of him was equally as bad. All in all, I do feel the Bills would have benefitted from having Yeldon active and Gore on the sidelines. He would have been a better option but I think he lost the trust of the coaching staff after his fumble in Cincy
  10. Are you saying that Gore was misused? Because I saw a really bad running back that looked like he lost a step by the end of the season. Like the Steeler game where he averaged a whopping 1.5 per carry. Or the Texans playoff game where averaged 2.5 yards He is a great leader, good for Singletary, but past his prime and should not have been on the field after Singletary returned. I love Frank but he was really really bad toward the end of the year. Please....no more Mike Tolbert, Pat DiMarco or Frank Gore He was getting stuffed on every 3rd and short. He was just not a good RB at the end of the year
  11. I was on the fence for months before subscribing. It’s very good, especially during Bills season - but I am debating whether I want to renew or not. If you like sports, you’ll love The Athletic. I think some people missed the main point of the article - that The Athletic has never made a profit and probably can sustain what they’ve without a huge conglomerate buying the company. If that doesn’t happen at some point, they’ll close down putting a lot of great writers out of work. The future is very much in question
  12. Some valuable experience eating humble pie Does bionic mean he averages 1 yard per carry?
  13. He was great for Singletary but he also hurt the team in the games during the times he did play. He was abysmal. I argued to activate Yeldon over Gore....he flat out sucked
  14. Im sorry but Frank Gore was so bad down the stretch last season. He was basically Mike Tolbert in 2017 toward the end of the season
  15. WIVB are trying to boost their online presence. It sounds like Sully will be working mostly for the website. Instead of writing his column in the paper, he’ll write exclusive stories for WIVB.com and maybe appear on the occasional program. It also doesn’t sound Iike he’ll be covering the Bills as a beat reporter, so sadly, we won’t hear his questions during the press scrum most weeks! I don’t mind Sully so I do think overall this is a good move.
  16. Too expensive. The NFL would have to hire a team home/health aides to help take care of the members of AC/DC ???
  17. He also did a good job of screwing up, and I’d argue he never earned the latitude some GM’s get IDK about that. Fraternity party? Kind of. But a lot of fans from other cities really do love the tailgating on game day. I’ve witness many fans from other teams day this on Gameday
  18. I think both are true. The front office of the Bills was an absolute dumpster fire. Many were empowered by Ralph Wilson, who never should have been in the position. (Marv, Jauron, Russ, Nix, Whaley). Not surprisingly most are out of the NFL
  19. I’ve seen these threads on Reddit and thought this might be a fun thread. I have one - I feel that One Bills Live is an underrated show, as is John Murphy. Yes it’s clear they are employed by the team and it obviously effects what they say. But overall the guests they get are stellar. I think Murph does a good job and Tasker is not bad either - some Bills fans go way overboard on the criticism. He’s way better than Donald Jones. I love to hear other opinions you might have that might not be as popular with fellow Bills fans
  20. So much for all the Pro-Whaley apologists that said Beane screwed up by “giving” Cordy away in 2018.
  21. I would say it’s a win only because it allowed them to get out from under a terrible contract. Trading Marcel was more about getting a horrible (Thanks Whaley) contract off the books and getting a player who didn’t seem to be buying into the system. They were realistic with what the 2017 team was and were looking toward the future and getting the team in a better cap situation. Would he have been better at DT than Adolphus Washington (Thanks Whaley). Yeah probably but I don’t think Marcel makes much of a difference in the W-L column. They bit the bullet and got rid of an underperforming, overpaid player who didn’t want to be in Buffalo.
