  1. I’m all for scrutinizing Terry. My comments were a joke based on the responses I got for talking about how Ralph tarnished the Bills legacy. You can argue he’s been just as bad for the Sabres and Ralph was for the Bills.
  2. Because our line couldn’t block Houston DL. They were stuffed every time they ran. Allen couldn’t beat the secondary with his arm and panicked. Not entirely on Daboll - blame QB and offensive line
  3. I don’t know.... the 3rd and 18 seemed like it was breakdown as opposed to scheme. Also you have to remember that Houston was a good offense. In the playoffs it’s hard to hold teams With good QB’s under 20 points under points. I never thought the lead was big enough where they could coast to a win. Offense needed to score and IMO that was the downfall more than the defense The humor on this response sailed wide right It was a good play call by Daboll to get something out of a QB who was struggling. He gets such a bad rap from fans
  4. How did he go conservative? They took a shot at the endzone and Duke had the ball in his hands. Should have been a TD. On the possession before, John Brown couldn’t make a toe tap catch. Coaching could’ve been better for sure, but I don’t buy the conservative BS Maybe not a TD, but more than likely in range for a FG Good point. So many things went wrong I don’t know man, I’m concerned you might tell him to lace my wing with Ex-Lax ?
  5. Duke’s performance in that playoff game is exactly why he’s fighting he’s fighting for a 6th WR spot. It was a huge opportunity that he probably was not ready for. I think they realized they needed a MUCH better option at WR. Grilled wings sound good right now
  6. Kirk HERBstreet is smoking enough HERB to make this comment.
  7. Let’s see... the team that Polian built went to 2 more Super Bowls. He made it to the NFC Championship game in Carolina a few years later. Then won a Super Bowl in Indy and set the team up for success for years to come. Ralph made the right choice firing Bill Polian.... for sure. Hope you enjoyed Ralph’s Drought. Most Bills fans didn’t
  8. Of course! Happy Birthday! Very glad he bought the team
  9. So according to some in the Ralph Wilson Appreciation Thread, you aren’t allowed to criticize an owner for failing to deliver a winning product to fans for years. So before anyone starts to complain about the job Terry did as Sabres owner.....DON’T!!!! You can only talk about all the money he put in downtown Buffalo to revitalize the Riverfront and how he helped the local economy. If Terry didn’t buy the Sabres they’d leave Buffalo - so that automatically makes him a great owner!!!!! I think Terry is a good guy. The best things he did as owner: 1. Distance Russ Brandon from football decisions 2. Hire Sean McDermott 3. Hire Brandon Beane (likely through Sean McDermott) and fire Doug Whaley - though I wish it was months earlier. These moves seems to help turn the franchise around.
  10. Ok so I don’t disagree with anything you said...except the that I was “stomping on his grave.” I simply pointed out the conflict between a a generous person to the WNY and struggling to put a winning a product on the field for decades. People criticized me for bringing that up and even tried to refute what I said. So I was just trying to illustrate the point that - like a lot of fans, I have a mixed view of Ralph as owner. I’m not ready to bow down and kiss the feet of the statue outside of New Era Field I know.... Someone might be a tough grader and give me an A- instead of the A+ that I rightfully deserve!
  11. I wasn’t as high on Johnson. I think he played ok but he got picked on in Houston. He was fine for a reserve but I don’t think his departure is that big of a loss
  12. Grading a poster? Come on. Ok so like I said originally, his legacy is definitely mixed and fans such as myself are conflicted
  13. I would agree 100%..... but if your evaluating him and praising him as an owner you also have to take account the subpar product he put on the field for 2 decades.
  14. Yeah you have to consider the scheme and what Norman was asked to do. Read the article Also I said EJ was better that Kevin. Not Josh Norman
  15. If he can stay healthy he’s better than Kevin Johnson. You’ll be surprised... go read Joe B’s breakdown on Norman
  16. Nope watching since 88.... the franchises’ best years with the team built by a HOF GM who was fired for petty reasons. After that time was up.... we had the lowest period in team history. The drought which was flat out embarrassing. Bills fans were humiliated and “the brand was tarnished” as Russ Brandon would say. Who tarnished the brand?
  17. They had the LONGEST.... I repeat the LONGEST active playoff drought that lasted nearly 20 years. The Browns made the playoffs during that time. The Bills did not. 2 DECADES of no playoffs - that’s not sports! That’s incompetence. The mathematical chances of that happened were minuscule, yet Ralph found a way to do it. Stop giving Ralph and the team a pass, they were failures. Also yes the incompetence starts with Ralph. You said coaches and GM’s didn’t work out - who empowered them!?!? Ralph! Do you want me to list all of the great moves he made during the drought? There are quite a few Good memory.... Sounds like Ralph was a good person.
  18. Doubt it.... to start Ford stays at RT but if Daaaaaaaryl plays well I can see that changing. Let Spain and Feliciano compete for the other spot and we’ve got big Ty as backup
  19. I would agree with this. I always said that his philanthropy and dedication to the WNY area should be admired. He also generated money to several colleges in the area as well. My critique has been the football product that he put out during the final two decades of his ownership. The product was very very poor We don’t know the whole story....what we do know is that Ralph fired Buffalo’s most successful GM AND Buffalo’s second most successful GM John Butler for personal reasons. He replaced them Tom Donahoe, Marv Levy and Russ Brandon, and Buddy Nix. Quite a group there. Hope you enjoyed the drought
  20. 50 + years of ownership... that’s not great
  21. How much of that success can be derived from Bill Polian... you know? The guy Ralph fired over a petty squabble. Im not trolling - I said he did some good things off the field. But as an NFL owner, he was bad and the Drought years were miserable largely because of him. I remember the good Ralph did but also the bad
  22. Thank you for the 17 year Playoff Drought, Mr Wilson
