  1. You might be right here but I don't think you are. As long as Allen doesn't throw 3 picks and the Bills lose the Jets game the MVP is locked up. But who knows, MVP voters are probably less competent and reliable then NFL refs.
  2. A RB in King Henry who is likely to finish with a top 25 rushing season of all time. Remember, when he played with TN opposing teams game planned to stop Henry. BTW, this season Henry has already clinched his 2nd best rushing totals in his career.
  3. Yes you can make the "argument" but you could have made a better argument for Allen winning it last season. The only thing Jackson did better last season IMO is lead his team to a better record then the Bills. If the Bills finish ahead of the Ravens this season that should be the deriding thing for giving Allen the MVP.
  4. As a Bills fan there is no way I'm voting Jackson over Allen. As for Allen potentially "struggling" against "two bottom feeders" and Jackson shining against "two playoff teams" I would remind you that Allen is 2 - 0 against the top team in each conference. The Chiefs & Lions are 27 - 1 against teams not quarterbacked by Allen. And if those wins are considered a "distant memory" for determining the REGULAR SEASON MVP then the award is a pile of bull feces and not worth getting. After all, Jackson has played like crap in the playoffs after each of his last two MVP seasons.
  5. Unless Baltimore loses on Christmas day we would still NEED to beat the Jets to lock up the 2nd seed. I would go all out against the Jets, lock down the 2nd seed and use the last game as a rest & recover preseason contest. Otherwise we might have to go to Baltimore in round 2 of the playoffs which would be a lot worse then playing them at home.
  6. If this game was an example of a team in malaise then the chiefs have been in a season long great depression. Games like yesterday happen all the time in the NFL to even the best teams.
  7. Agree 100%. What was new today IMO was that as poorly as they played we won the game. Think last years NE game or the 2022 Jets game or the infamous Jacksonville game where a crappy performance resulted in heartbreaking and completely inexplicable losses. This like much of what we're seeing this season is something different and in a good way.
  8. Interesting you say this - I noticed a broadcast shot where Allen was showing a guy on the sideline his pinky finger area. He was pointing at it vigorously and then was squeezing his hand a couple of times. Did anyone else notice this?
  9. It is odd but I think there is an impression that this is true about McD because of how some of the games start. Think about falling behind Arizona 17 - 3 in the 2nd quarter and Tennessee 10 - 0 in the 2nd quarter. We went on to blow the Titans out 34 -10 though.
  10. IMO this is the only reason not to play Allen extensively against the Jets. The difference between playing the divisional round in Baltimore or Pittsburgh versus Buffalo is to big not to go all out to win next Sunday. Now if your scenario happens, Allen would still likely play in the first quarter just to keep his consecutive starts streak going. He could throw a couple of quick short passes and hand the ball off then hit the bench.
  11. I suspect that she was fast tracked, but I don't know for sure. Fast tracking can be a problem particularly in a profession where experience appears to be hugely important.
  12. After the last 4 games this is quibbling. Allen like the rest of the team was a bit off today. It happens. And for the record in the NFL BOTH those Shakir misses should have been caught. But Shakir appeared to be a bit flat like the rest of the team.
  13. This seems to be the Chiefs approach. And Reid/Mahomes and the rest of the KC organization doesn't seem to give a crap that this approach pisses off some of their message board fans.
  14. Maybe but then again who will be throwing them the ball? If it's Rogers then the Bills will not be facing a run threat from the QB and their pass rush will get home or at worst hurry up the throw. If Rogers doesn't go and it's Tyrod I don't see the Jets WR's tearing up anybody.
  15. It's definitely a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. That's why winning today under the circumstances that we did was so important.
  16. Do you think she went though the same path as the guys to nail a spot as an NFL referee? Remember she also signaled that the Pat runner was down on his fumble and she signaled the TD on the play that was ruled incomplete. If I say any more I'll get put in Time Out and I like posting after the game so I will zip it.
  17. Then again the defense was beyond bad during the first half allowing NE to go on two very long, time consuming TD drives that kept the O off the field and saw them not get their 2nd possession until the 2nd quarter. Like I said in another post BOTH units played poorly at times and played very well at other times. A loss could have been blamed on either unit and credit for the win could be given to either.
  18. What? The deep shot on 3rd and 16 that was intercepted in the end zone put the ball at the one yard line. If that isn't the definition of a highly effective pass punt I don't know what else is. At the end of the 1st half Shakir should have caught that deep shot from Allen. That would have led to 3 and maybe even 7 points right before the half. In the 2nd half the long pass to Shakir in the end zone should have been a TD. This is the NFL and Shakir should have caught both balls. He had an off day, I get it, but Allen's decisions to make those throws was sound and should have led to 7 - 10 more points. Agree. The Bills have always tried copying the Chiefs and they do pay attention to what KC is doing to win all those Super Bowl games. This season and last season the Chiefs are doing just enough to win during the regular season. As an aside I thought Bishop played well and I bet he's the starter next season. As for Elam, I'm not sure what to think but I do know that a different ref crew would not have thrown a couple of those PI flags and we would be thinking very differently about him.
  19. Which is a very McD approach. However, they better not screw it up. Having to go to Baltimore or Pitt in the Divination Round is a big challenge. The good news is that as ugly as today's win was it makes locking up the 2nd seed a lot easier.
  20. I watched the game and the Jets D is struggling. After going up 6 - 0 on their 1st drive of the day the Rams outscored the Jets 19 - 3 the rest of the way. I suspect that the Bills will be a bit more up for this game as it will either be played with them still having a shot at the #1 seed or if KC wins a chance to lock up the #2 seed. Today's game was sort of in no mans land with respect to it's meaning. It also came after a tough, high profile 4 game obstacle course.
  21. Am I seeing this all wrong but isn't the #2 seed worth playing for? I guess with a 2 game lead with 3 to go going into this game the thought was they could get the wins to lock that one up. And not taking the Pats that seriously seems to have worked out as even after everything went their way in the first quarter they still sort of self destructed and the Bills went on a 24 - 0 run before a very late ref assisted Pat's TD at the end. We're seeing load management in action and it almost bit them in the butt. The operative word here is "almost".
  22. And that would not be a bad outcome as it would tell the Bills exactly where they stand with 2 games left and the could plan accordingly.
  23. Even if KC wins the Bills can't rest their starters next week because Baltimore could steal the #2 seed if the Bills lose their last 2.
  24. The details are that the Bills won to go 12 - 3 and the Ravens are at 10 - 5. If Buffalo and Baltimore both win the rest of their games then there is no way they give it to a 12 - 5 Jackson over a 14 - 3 Allen.
  25. If Pitt wins out and Baltimore ends up as the wild card there is no way Jackson gets the MVP over Allen having a worst record and not winning his division.
