  1. Not feeling that game at all. Road teams lose 2 out of 3 times on Thursday night and Bills are not at Dallas' level yet, and its turkey day game. Not Feeling it at all. We get shwacked on National TV yet again and head back to the corner of the NFL world. All part of the process. Getting used to the big stage. Not sure half our guys have ever been to a game with that many cameras covering it, much been on the field for one.
  2. So if winning against the Broncos, Jets and Steelers (games no one will see outside of WNY) gets them to 10 and a road wildcard game, but they are dominated by the Cowboys, Pats and Ravens (presumably all in front of national audiences against super popular teams), they are in no better position than they are in today. That is, Pretenders rather than contenders, right? Having said all this, I am ok with that outcome, bc IMO this wasn't the year to make a "run" of any kind anyway. You need a bigger offense than the Bills have this season to make any kind of a run in the playoffs.
  3. true, guys playing for a contract. an actor on a stage. see if you can extend him, of course, but don't make him the next Marcel Dareus.
  4. Home wild card game would be the goal. No more than that can be thought of.
  5. Lots of wins against bad teams. Great defense. Lots of hype around the young QB. Etc Etc. Big falloff the next season against better competition. 1) Is this what we have to look forward to or 2) are the Bills being built to last? I believe in #2 (obviously). Bills get AFC and NFC West next season/lots of west coast travel/prime games etc. What say you?
  6. Yeah if you go no huddle with the headset, the defense doesn't have the ability to change the defense just before the snap. That must be it. Belichick would call two defenses for the same play. Not sure that is possible if the offense is in hurry up mode?
  7. yeah they'll get one in the offseason. I think they'll improve the roster in several positions during the offseason, just as McBeanes have done since day 1. its all a process. keep improving the roster, keep the coaching and the schemes intact, build continuity with high calibre, solid character players, and wins will follow. pretty simple process, i would imagine most teams not coached by Rex Ryan or managed by Buddy Nix at least say they try to do this.
  8. Cowboys will pound the rock against this D Line. I don't see that win at all. short week, on the road against a team that runs it really well? I don't see it. Shame, as that will completely cement this year's team, on national TV with zillions watching, as pretenders. Its as if the networks were basically serving up the Bills to the Cowboys for t giving . Networks want the Cowboys to win that game every year. So put the weakest team in the out of conference line up on (based on last year). We shall see... but I just don't see it. Zeke should have a big day.
  9. Trust the process. If this is how he is playing after a couple dozen starts, things are progressing nicely.
  10. Once defenses see he can be accurate, the whole offense opens up. Phins pretty short handed today, but he made some nice throws for sure. W.
  11. Defenses now have enough film on him to defend him. Put 8 in the box and eliminate the run game; make him throw it and he misfires due to inaccuracy at least 1 out of 4 times, and 1/3 are defended successfully, making him a ~50% passer . If he runs, you can strip the ball 1 out of 3 times. Seems defenses invite him to run now, to provide a turnover opportunity. So basically defenses are now taking away Singletary/Gore by outnumbering the blockers (who are only above average anyways) and they are winning in the passing game bc Josh is inaccurate and generates turnovers when he runs. Pretty simple. Cleveland proved it. Everyone will be doing this until Josh starts making all the routine throws and improves his ball security. Dont' blame it on Daboll; Browns loaded the box and Daboll correctly responded by throwing it 41 times. and guys got separation. Josh just wasn't good enough throwing it. Hopefully his mechanics in the pocket get cleaned up in the offseason. Not going to happen in-season. Training camp is over. Its all a process. We are in year 2 with Josh, who was a glorified high school QB coming out of Wyoming. He is getting there. He has elite physical tools. Just doesn't throw it well enough right now. His mechanics / feet need to be right 100% of the time and they are not. He needs to slide every time he runs and stop trying to score when he runs. He's playing against defensive guys now who are just as good as athletes as he is. He will get there. I'm guessing next year, assuming Daboll is still around; if Daboll is gone, then we start over again; he'll have the mechanics but will burn a year learning a new offense. Stay the course. Trust the Process.
  12. when at this point in his growth, your QB can't hit a 15 yard throw to a wide open WR on a simple in route, and has the ball stripped by the defense every third run, "turning him loose" is probably seen by the coaching staff as a really bad idea. Defenses know this, so they stack the run (taking Singletary away) pre snap as the Browns did and force Allen to throw it (he is not consistently accurate, taking Knox away) . So until and if Josh can be a consistent threat throwing the ball, this offense will face 8 in the box and the run game will largely be unreliable. Defenses are forcing Josh to be the offense and he is just not there yet. Hopefully he gets there.
  13. 80% vs 84%? if that is the comparison then this is a non-issue
  14. I think we have the right pieces. By the end of this year, I would think we have a perennial winning franchise. Super Bowl winning is a crap shoot with the salary cap etc., but I can see Carolina, Seattle type success, yes.
  15. 10-6 and no playoffs. That could happen.
  16. The Bills were incredibly bad the first half of last season , but were a much better, much more competitive 4-4 team the second half. I would argue Bills were an above .500 team exiting last season (which I guess is supported by how this season has gone so far) . Concerned that fans compare W-L records now at the halfway mark and assume the better record team is going to win going forward. I am asserting that is not a good idea. Anyone have stats on W-L record by half season? For example, forget their records, the Browns, Phins, Broncos and Jets will likely be better the second half of the season. By the same token, the Ravens, Cowboys and Pats won't be locks as teams get lots of film on what they did the first half of the season. I guess by this logic, I am imagining all Bills games are winnable (and lose-able) going forward. Eg, I could see us losing to the Dolphins (who are playing even better now than when they had us beat b4 TWhite bailed us out), but beating the Ravens, Steelers and Pats (who we had beat until Josh was cheap shotted out of the game) who cannot keep doing what they are doing as defenses/offenses figure them out based on 1st half of season. Just a thought b4 everyone starts guaranteeing wins and losses. thoughts? go bills.
  17. anyone who picks up Kaep in an election year is asking for trouble, big time. Kaep is done. He did it to himself. He has plenty of $$ . just go away.
  18. Browns packed the box to take the run game away and force Daboll to throw it. The pass plays were there, Josh just missed a bunch of what looked like simpler throws early that would have changed the Browns approach. The knock on Allen was he is not accurate and , sure enough, he wasn't very accurate against the Brownies. Guess we should have taken Rosen
  19. Well, we lost one game and this is the fan reaction. Hmmmm......I was thinking of getting season tickets again. Hmmm... yeah lets fire everyone and start over. In a couple years , I'll be on the 20 yard line lower bowl. I like it. Fire them all. Now.
  20. "...The record took me away from that, and suddenly I had "great expectations. " .." yeah, don't do that. you screwed up. back it up, people. they are 6-3, with a better than even chance of being 8-3, 7-4 worst case, in two weeks. You would have taken that at the season's start, right? McBeanes need at least 12 more months to get this roster right. They have the cap space and drafting acumen to do it too. Trust the Process. when they lose, you call it "bad football", when they win, its "they got it done". fair weather fans, that what I call it. watch the replay, that game was well competed. really a pretty good game. a great fight. If Allen tosses 3 picks and they turn it over 5 times, that's bad football. that game was not bad football.
  21. so if they're 8-3 in two weeks , let me guess, you'll be doing playoff planning what a bunch of fair weather fans. I saw some great things today. So much fight in that defense. Those goal line stands were amazing. Offense has a ways to go, but no one expected that group to light it up this year anyway. Trust the Process. This wasn't the year anyway. Go get another drink. Couple of winnables coming up.
  22. It was damn close, that's for sure
  23. here we go again.... let me guess, the Bills didn't win sigh...
  24. Never felt this game at all. Man, the Browns have an amazing collection of talent on both sides of the ball. Way more than we do. Wow. and Sheldon Richardson too.. didn't know that.. . and they had only won 2 games? Let it go. Defense was amazing in red zone. Offense was what it is going to be this year. It will get better. Allen made a half a dozen really good throws today that I don't think I've seen before. I'm good. No picks. The kid is coming along. Ran when he had to. Only one fumble today and that was understandable as he was competing to score. Knew that game would be tight. and it was. Trust the Process. Go win the next couple.
  25. Trap Game. Kareem Hunt is back for first time this season. He and Chubb will likely tear it up today against our poor run D. Not feeling this one at all. Hope I'm wrong, but the offense will need to make the most of what will likely be a small number of possessions.
