Matt Leinart's short Bills career
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trey Lance definitely comes to mind. Not only a top 3 pick, but the 49ers had to give up a haul to get to that spot. There must’ve been something going on behind the scenes because I don’t even recall him being that bad, at least not enough to warrant being traded after 4 games with a .500 record and 5/2 TD-INT. If they didn’t luck out w/ Brock Purdy, that entire FO would’ve been canned. The whole situation has always been intriguing to me. If it was a character thing then he wouldn’t be on another team. It’s not his stats because we’ve seen guys like Zack Wilson & Bryce Young put up horrid numbers yet get insane amounts of chances. If anybody has more knowledge about the subject I would be happy to hear. -

Reggie Bush as well. -
RB and WR markets are actually insane.

You get to retain said player on roster when original contract is over. -

Good point. Never thought of it that way. So many key players in Bills history -

1994 - Kelly & Reed vs Favre & Sharpe - NFL Throwback
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
I always wondered what Kelly’s career trajectory would’ve looked like if he had immediately came to Buffalo instead of all that USFL crap. Kind of seemed like a waste of 3 more potential prime years. -

They really should’ve took the money they gave WR Palmer and just gave it to Cook. I’m not a fan of paying RBs either, but Buffalo is in “win now” mode. I don’t want to waste another Josh Allen prime year by starting a player like Ray Davis who MIGHT be a suitable replacement. The Bills need to go into 2025 with every possible weapon at their disposal. A 1000+ yard/18 TD RB is not as easy of a replacement as some people think. If we were a rebuilding team then I would be all for letting Cook walk. -

NFLThrowback is such a great YT channel to watch in the offseason. I like to watch games I haven’t seen before. And those Bills uniforms are the epitome of the 90s. -
I wouldn’t trade Josh for their top 5 best players combined.

Antonio Brown in big trouble...again
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s probably a combination of mental health and CTE. Either way he is speed running his downfall. -
Completely left out Allen’s 1800 34 TDs rushing …and a receiving TD for good measure. I can’t stand when analysts manipulate statistics like this. Absolutely insanity to even compare these 2 guys. And I am actually a Tua fan, but Josh is a first ballot HOFer if he retires at 30. Tua is a Chad Pennington clone.

Antonio Brown in big trouble...again
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
People laugh, but this is extremely sad. AB’s mental health is deteriorating in front of our very eyes in real time. It was only a matter of time before he completely destroyed his life. Thankfully he didn’t kill someone or even multiple people. Never a good look for the NFL anytime CTE hits the news, but is a very real topic of discussion. I seriously pray for this guy. It’s only going to get worse. I was expecting a Jovan Belcher situation. -
Are Fan Expectations Too High for Keon Coleman?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Expectations are way too high for rookies and sophomores IN GENERAL. I’ve never known such an impatient group of people in all my life. I remember the “three year rule” that used to be given to WRs. Sometimes it would even take 4 for certain guys. The physicality of NFL CBs is a whole other level. “Touch” is a relatively new concept for Allen. Otherwise, he is launching absolute piss missiles. Guys have complained about bruised hands. I can’t even imagine handling those balls in cold weather. To answer the OP. Fans have been entirely unfair to Keon. Stat line he put up was very respectable considering he was injured. He has demonstrated every skill in the pros that he showed in college. I expect to make a jump into a Gabe Davis type stat-line. 850 yards, 8 TDs. Year 3 is when the league really starts to take notice. I think the guy who really takes a massive leap is Shakir. -
It’s not the amount of players that need to step up. It’s a certain cohesive unit as a whole. And that’s the defensive line. Even though it was a bit long ago, I feel like the Giants drew up the blueprint against the Patriots. Until Buffalo is able to send consistent pressure against Mahomes, it’s going to be a long day for them. I don’t want to sound cruel, but they need to beat the crap out of him within the context of the rules. Start making him see ghosts like Sam Darnold. If they draw a RTP call or 2 then so be it. This has always been the #1 issue and it’s why Beane took another crack at bolstering the line this offseason. I hate to put a lot of pressure on a recently injury-prone player, but damn, it would be BILLY FUCCILLO HUGE if Joey Bosa could stay relatively healthy. A starting line of BOSA/ OLIVER/ TJ SANDERS/ ROUSSEAU would be absolutely insane. The Bills have some very solid rotational players as well.

How many wins do the Bills get without Josh?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think they are a fringe playoff team WITHOUT #17. Why? Because of their strength in the trenches (especially O-line.) I think Brady is a top level coordinator. Take the ball out of Trubisky’s hands as much as possible and use his legs more. Ride Cook & Company all the way to the postseason. Mix the running w/ some screens, bootlegs, and occasional deep shot to keep opposing D’s honest. Another underrated aspect is the blocking ability of the WRs when they hit the 2nd level. Bills regular season defense has always been very good to great under McDermott so I’d expect a top 5-7 unit. You can also expect them to be in the upper tier of turnover differential as well. Buffalo defense knows how to take the ball away and score afterwards . It is not luck, it is coaching. As a fan, I pretty much expect 1-2 takeaways per game. All in all, I think 9-8 is a very realistic record. This team has more talent than fans give credit for. It takes more than just a good QB. Look at the Bengals & Chargers over the recent years. There’s a reason McDermott is tied for the 4th longest current coaching tenure and he would be snatched up faster than a rabbit gets ****** if he ever hit the market. You think Antoine Winfield or Pat Williams hurt? Imagine McDermott going the Patriots. Then why post a reply? I get it, bud. The offseason is hurting all of us. You got this. -
Absolutely agreed. Last year proved to me (without a doubt) that Allen is going to play at a high level well into his “old” age when he loses a little bit of that running power. The running threat will always be there to an extent, but Allen is throwing the ball so accurately & efficiently. People hate these WRs, but they all have complementary skill sets to the QB. Having smaller WRs his whole career kind of forced him to be more precise and timed.

Would you rather $ or Lombardi?

500? Hell naw. I’d do it for 50k though. I have faith that Allen will win it in a different year. -
Network pricing to watch all NFL games in 2025
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I did NFL+ for a couple years when I had to work on Sunday. I honestly enjoyed it more than watching it live as it offered 2 “condensed” versions. One with just the commercials cut out (which I did for the Bills as I liked the anticipation & build of each play) and then just the action only (which I did for all other games which made them only 30 minutes or so.) It was great being able to pause the game and watch on my own time. -

ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I supported this garbage franchise through 18 years of despair. Tickets, jerseys, vendors, Sunday ticket when I moved out of Rochester, etc. Ralph Wilson slapped every fan in the face when he went over the coach and benched Flutie. The constant threat looming over fans’ heads of moving the franchise. The hiring of proven losers at HC to save money. Big Splash moves like Terrell Owen’s that were only made to sell tickets. I could go on & on. If I’m struggling financially and need to illegally stream some games for a season, I will. Maybe I am a thief, but the owners & players aren’t going to starve as a result. -

Bengals bungling things up - new rookie contract clause
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pretty inexcusable to miss out on the playoffs when your QB totals up 5100 all purpose yards and 45 TDs. Your top 2 WRs account for a combined 2600 yards and 27 TDS. And you have a demon like Trey Hendrickson flying off the edge w/ 17.5 sacks. The Bengals literally have top five talent at 3 of the 4 most important positions. If they can’t get it done now, they definitely won’t later when they end up in cap hell. I feel bad for that fan base. -

Expectations for Javon Solomon
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Very impressive! Both drafted relatively close too. I would be absolutely ecstatic if JS turned out to be half of the player Dumervil was. One of the more underrated pass rushers in NFL history, IMO. You don’t see many guys who are sub-6 feet having that type of impact rushing the passer. I’m pretty convinced that Solomon would’ve been a high 1st rounder w/ more prototypical measurables. People will scoff at his 2 sack total last year, but he did it buried deep on the depth chart under a coach who notoriously hates rookies. It showed me that he can beat pro level offensive tackles. Joey Bosa’s health will greatly determine his level of production next year. I think the Bills are well prepared either way with an “assume the worst/hope for the best” mindset. For once, I am actually very content w/ the DL as a complete unit. I think Beane nailed the draft. Free Agency was a different story… 🤷♂️ -
Joe Brady says Dalton "lived here this offseason"
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to sunshynman's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t know how someone could possibly question the work ethic of Josh Allen who took hardest path I can think of to get into the NFL. I’d write it out, but we’re all familiar w/ his trajectory. Allen defied the odds on every level. Not to say that Mahomes doesn’t work hard, but his dad was a pro athlete and he had every possible opportunity growing up as far as money & training.
