If Shavers doesn’t make the roster then I have zero faith in McDermott’s “best man wins” philosophy. It will be a bad look for McD in front of his players. I think it is as close to 100% as you can get that he makes the roster. He’s making catches on every level of the field. I think Shavers could be special.

Unlike most, I am super happy we play them in week 1. I’ve stated before that I think the Ravens have the most talented team in the NFL when you break their entire roster down. Week 1 is the perfect opportunity to steal a W. The home crowd will be a huge advantage as the first home game is always rowdy. I am extremely nervous about this secondary. I have no idea who will start opposite Benford, but I am not feeling Tre White or Dane Jackson. I would probably be happier w/ Jamarcus Ingram. Safety is by far the weakest position group which sucks as McDermott’s scheme is heavily dependent on them. We are going to need a big day from the offense. Thankfully, we have other options besides Allen putting on his cape. James Cook will silence a lot of critics if he can go out there and show why he makes the big bucks. I am not worried about our receivers as most. Allen made it work year after year after year. I don’t think this one will be any different. What I would like to see is Josh Palmer making plays. I hated that acquisition, but I would much rather be wrong.

Shavers could be a #1. I really think he’s that good. That catch proves it. He’s been allover the field on every level. I seriously hope he gets a chance to see some real action. It’s a waste letting him rot on the practice squad. Either way, he’s as good as gone if Buffalo doesn’t retain him on the 53.

I really have no idea why they haven’t grabbed Rasul Douglas. He had a bad year, but it doesn’t mean he’s finished. At least he will be a healthy option. If not then Beane needs to make a trade.

That drive was a WORK OF ART. Buechuele looked like a surgeon out there. Shavers with a huge 3rd down conversion. Gore JR with some beautiful runs up the middle.

They had one magical year and still came up short. Incredible offense, but not a good team. One of the most prolific pass rushers and defense is still hot trash. I’d much rather be in the Bills situation.

Sanders certainly looked like a better prospect to me. Even before EJ played a down, I thought his college tape looked stiff & robotic. The only thing he had over Sanders was size and possibly arm strength, but that’s debatable.
