  1. Little did I know that he had actually died...
  2. That's a cheap shot. He was only 9 yards off the ball.
  3. Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated. That said, I met Dan when he was a lawyer in Buffalo and I was a lawyer in Rochester. We had a case against each other, and once on a phone call I said to him "Dan, why is your name so familiar to me?" to which he replied "I used to be the quarterback of the Buffalo Bills." When we finally met for depositions, he had the patience to sit around when the clients had left and chat about football with me. It's the only time I had an actual conversation with a Bills player and I cherished my brush with the NFL. Much as with his Bills career, in our case Dan was a loser once again. But he was a very good natured guy and a fine lawyer. RIP
  4. Blimey! The bobbies will be coming to get you!
  5. I think you mean back of the envelope.
  6. Pardon my ignorance, but who are Big Cheese and Chrome?
  7. Gunner, I know they say "maths" in the UK so you're forgiven for that. But do you actually keep a running tab on the Bills' salary cap? This is borderline daft (as they say in the UK)
  8. Does this mean that the Ravens are unlikely?
  9. I try to forget everything having to do with Kyle Orton.
  10. Have you SEEN Dan Darragh lately?
  11. I met Marv on the street in Buffalo 9 or 10 years ago and despite my shock I managed to say "There's no place I'd rather be than right here, right now!" I have many regrets in life over missed opportunities, but that's one time I swung and hit it into the upper deck.
  12. Maybe the most boring episode in the most boring season yet. Who needed to see those podcast clowns eating wings for like 10 minutes? That's 38:13 of my life I'll never get back.
  13. He's a married man now, needs to protect his assets.
  14. A dead Bruce DeHaven is better than some of the stiffs we've had coaching ST recently.
  15. Probably by hiring branch managers.
  16. I think I remember seeing somewhere that Darryl Talley moved back to WNY.
  17. Have you seen the Red Sox' yellow unis?
  18. Who was the Bills RB who had Guillain Barre syndrome, who took a safety on MNF when he was given the ball on a plunge play and tried to bounce it outside?
  19. The coaches meetings in that series were outrageous Some of them were so boring they seemed twice as long.
  20. Can you imagine if they had done Hard Knocks when OJ was still on the team?
  21. also tells us what we need to know about how much writers know
  22. Gunner, if I remember correctly, lives in the UK and therefore sees the home team TV coverage for preseason games (as I do where I live overseas). I assume that you guys in WNY got the Buffalo coverage, and if so you missed this: Tampa Bay has a sponsor that is the "Exclusive Hospital of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers." Somehow that strikes me as a bad look.
  23. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_Who_Say_"Ni!" "It soon emerges that the knights are unable to withstand the word "it", which Arthur's party is unable to avoid saying. The knights are soon incapacitated by the word, which even the head knight cannot stop repeating, allowing Arthur and his followers to make their escape."
