  1. You should probably look up optimize. And while you're at it, look up infer. One way or the other I won't need the anxiety pills by Monday.
  2. If you think the objective of the coaching staff is to get Cooper more balls, then you're right, they haven't optimized him. If you think the objective of the coaching staff is to get the Bills to win games, then the 11-1 record with Coop on the team speaks volumes. And no, I'm done being drunk from the game, now I'm taking anxiety pills before the next one.
  3. Since Cooper joined the team, he has only 20 receptions on 32 targets in 10 games. The Bills are 11-1 in those games and they scored 42 points in the one loss. (I'm not counting the JV game in week 18) Seems to me the Bills coaching staff has pretty much optimized Cooper. It gives lie to the claims that the Bills were fatally flawed by the lack of a "true #1 WR". The OP got it right in his famous "quietly better" post.
  4. I'm waaaaay too old to have any hope of understanding this stuff, but for people of my generation this is roughly equivalent to "Revolution #9"
  5. I remember the last game at the Rockpile. I wasn't there; I was listening to it on the radio from my parents' home in Rochester. When the game ended, they played "Auld Lang Syne," and the fans started to pull down the goalposts. Van Miller was very concerned that the fans would get hurt by the metal goalposts (as the goalposts of the old days, that were routinely pulled down by the fans after a championship game, were made out of wood.) I wonder what the last game at the Ralph will be like.
  6. Look up "hot take" in the dictionary and they actually have a picture of this post.
  7. That's why they call him Bass
  8. I just went to my fridge and saw Amari Cooper's picture on the milk carton. What's up with that?
  9. Watching from Tel Aviv starting at 1:30 AM Monday
  10. First, the Bills broke their spirit. Then, after they thought they had a signature win against the Vikings, they saw how awful Minnesota really was. I'd really hate to see a team win it all in their first try after decades of losing. They should lose, say, 4 superbowls first.
  11. I think they should move the game indoors to the Capitol rotunda Not counting the nonsense week 18 game, the Bills lost only 3 games, all to teams that are still playing
  12. So in other words, the key to winning this game is scoring more points than the other team does? Roger that.
  13. You could never get a job as a sports journalist. You're too smart.
  14. Maybe now? YESSSSSS!
  15. Can I flip this to 100 pages?
  16. Forgot that Cookie was #34. For years I've remembered him as #32 but apparently he never wore that number. Amazing to watch those films and to realize that almost all of those guys are dead.
  17. He doesn't actually qualify for this honor, but special mention should be made of Gale Gilbert. According to Wikipedia, "Gilbert is the only player in NFL history to be a member of five straight Super Bowl teams; four with the Bills (XXV–XXVIII) and one with the Chargers (XXIX). All five teams lost." And he didn't take a snap in any of them until garbage time in his fifth SB.
  18. How do I know that the OP is full of it? Because there is no such thing as a law firm you can trust.
  19. Was that Patrick Surtain's jockstrap I saw on the field as Curtis Samuel was prancing into the endzone?
  20. EJ would be in Canton
  21. Maybe I'm misremembering but I think what they do is they schedule the 3 AFC wildcard games for Saturday and early Sunday, then the divisional round games are on Saturday. NFC wildcard is late Sunday and Monday, then their divisional round is Sunday. That way both teams in the conference championships come in with equal rest.
  22. And unburdened by what has been!!!!
