11/9/25 GAMEDAY Bills at Dolphins 2nd Half Game Thread
Dan Darragh replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought I was the only one still harping on this. This is not a well-coached team. They've looked ready for maybe 3 games all year. -

I seem to remember Madden winning a SB decisively against the Vikings. -

Actually, I'm not a "fire McD" guy but any Bills fan with a pulse would have to confess some disappointment with him. It's not the "zero Superbowls" thing, it's that with a "defense-minded coach" we've had way too many games where we couldn't get a stop on third down, especially with all the draft capital we've invested on defense. And I may have said this once or twice (or maybe 15 times) - I think his biggest failure is NOT 13 seconds, but his failure to be accountable for 13 seconds. It was clearly a coaching meltdown in several aspects, yet he's never owned it or told us why it won't ever happen again. So I think he's a guy who's got a damaged public persona, and some geek with a new HP calculator found a way to put him on the same list as Paul Brown. It sounds pretty lame to me. Still, I don't buy the "fire McD" approach, partly because so many new coaches fail and partly because I'm a Sabres fan too and I've seen what happens when Terry gets to hire folks. -

Right, I bet Mike just sits there wondering "How does Sean stack up against the greatest coaches of all time?" A cynic (who, me???) might ask if McD is even the greatest Sean coaching in the league right now. Consider that he plays 4 games a year against the Fish and the Jets, who are a combined 109-172 during Sean's tenure. And if you add in the post-Brady Patriots, it's even more skewed. -
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/with-next-win-sean-mcdemott-will-be-sixth-coach-with-100-in-first-nine-seasons Dumbest article ever, trying to cement Sean's place in the "pantheon" of great coaches. What the person who wrote this doesn't know (why would they?) is that the NFL season was only 12 games until 1960 (Paul Brown's era) and was only 14 games from 1961-1977. The 17th game was only added in 2021, which the PR team apparently knew. And until the Superbowl era (1967) there were no playoffs, just a championship game between the two conference winners. So Paul Brown would have coached no more than 13 games in any season. In Sean's era, it would be 20 games assuming he went to a Superbowl, which he would have done if he was properly one of the 6 greatest coaches ever.

Next time, check https://www.shadedseats.com/ "Any seat in the 300-level (upper deck) should be safe from the sun, no matter the time of day. Because the upper deck is set back from the playing field, it has almost full protection provided by the canopy. Additionally, seats in sections 142-150 and 242-250 should stay sun-free for the entire game. You’ll want to avoid the lower level on the north (visitor’s) side if you want to stay out of the sun. Sections 114-122 will be the toastiest sections of the stadium. The east end zone should be sun-free during an early afternoon game, but the west end zone may have some seats in direct path of the sun."

I think its time - Call Christian Wilkins!
Dan Darragh replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
But think, he could do that every day in practice rather than just once or twice a year in games -
Remember all the angst on this board about what a bust he was?

Cowboys DE Marshawn Kneeland passes away - 24 yrs old.
Dan Darragh replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup, he "passed away" -
When did they start wearing short pants? I liked it better when the pants went over the knees. Now they're beginning to look like hockey uniforms, which, much as I love hockey, are the most absurd thing in sports. At least they wear socks, unlike college football.

Bills Draft History - The Price For Shaheed
Dan Darragh replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't forget that Gave ran a 4.54 forty, when he was younger and supposedly fully healthy. He may be useful but he's not going to stretch many defenses on go routes. -
What team "won" on trade deadline day-2025 edition
Dan Darragh replied to TBBills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
All the draft picks in the world won't solve this problem for the Jets -
Here's a list of once-good players the Bills picked up only to realize that they were over the hill: Beasley (second time) John Brown (second time) Reggie Bush Matt Cassel Tim Couch Vince Young Matt Leinart (those are the only ones who come to mind quickly but there are surely others, please add) Hoping Harrison is not a potential addition to this list.

I remember THIS offense:

Agreed. If we win the SB with this terrible roster it will be tainted and I think we should not accept the Lombardi.

OJ had 273 yards rushing and the Bills lost...
Dan Darragh replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I take issue with that. Gary Marangi was truly horrible but there are so many contenders for the title, not least of whom is the late Dan Darragh. -
I thought he was going to get flagged for taunting on this one. not that I mind taunting, I think it's great, but the 15 yards on his first NFL tackle would have been unfortunate.

If the coach thinks that a guy doesn't know his role well enough to stand in the right place, it's on the coach for allowing him to be on the field. Not so if, say, a receiver drops a pass, but when the receiver doesn't even know where he's supposed to be it's a flaw in the vaunted "process"

There's a lot of AJE hate on this board but I thought he made a highlight reel play on the interception, especially the part where the ball bounced off his knee and he snared it. And I can still visualize him blowing Tua up a few years ago.

I've got to admit it, I felt bad for Andy yesterday.

I think this is the third time the Bills have been called for a formation penalty in a critical situation in recent weeks. In my view this is on the coaches. These guys are professionals, but that's a Jr. High mistake. It's a little like the time I saw a JV pitcher take a full windup with a man on first. The runner practically walked to second base.
