What % did Josh improve from yr1 to yr2?
DuckyBoys replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He improved and he will be better next year. I'm very confident . He's young, smart and wants to win. He'll figure out the details to continue to grow into the position. I'm excited to see what personnel improvements they make on offense -
Duke today, did the bad outweigh the good?
DuckyBoys replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Duke did fine and the targets affirm he was getting open and most importantly Josh trusted him. Too bad McDermott thought otherwise all season Coaching staff has a awful habit of sticking to their first narrative I hope we see some growth in that facet for 2020 -
Bills need McDermott to get better both in game decisions and in utilizing his personnel. Stakes are higher, playoffs expected and a win/run next season

Duke Williams played more snaps than Cole Beasley

no he's just better than the dumpster fire on our depth chart after Brown and Beasley We had arguably the worst wr core in the NFL -
Josh needs to work on the fumbling

maybe he watched Shady too much waving that pigskin around -
could be but they need a WR badly as well and RT is not a premium position you typically use a 1st rounder on. They are going to have to overpay in free agency somewhere or again get lucky with some mid range signings I wont be shocked if we go corner in round 1.

Conklin or Bulaga at RT sounds like a great first move RT has been a problem forever

That is the problem with looking at qbs We look at the end result then try and make the numbers fit If the Bills won Josh would have done enough Missed tackles and dumb playcalls/clock mgmt cost us the game. We had a 16-0 lead and choked, that is a team loss. I though Watson got lucky He held the ball too long all game and played sandlot football Difference is his skill guys made a few more plays than ours did and our defense again missed too many crucial tackles -
Lets hold the horses just a sec A championship defense to me is the 2000 ravens We have a bend dont break Tampa 2 that doesnt create enough havoc and needs a offense to constantly maintain drives because the D routinely allows long drives. Bills defense scored zero tds this year That is not championship caliber. Offense isnt even close

Duke was fine He had a chance to come down with a td and came up short on a tough catch He's not the answer but could be a viable wr3 for 2020 I'd start the depth chart with brown, beasley, duke and jettison the rest unless Mckenzie can be trusted to handle PR/KR Get all new rbs to go with Singeltary -

They need to be all in on Josh Allen. Get some help so he is not 90% of the offense. You want to win with him on his rookie deal and then you can decide what to do. Put personnel into spots where they can succeed. That means don't put special teams guys out into 5 wr sets in OT of a playoff game. Put the ball into your play makers hands Devin Singeltary is a budding superstar you need to work with that and get a 2nd talented explosive back. Get outside wrs . 5' 7" guys belong in the slot exclusively . Get a big physical TE who can work in the red zone. Stop the Cody Ford at tackle debacle. McDermott needs to be more open minded with personnel Not using Singeltary early in the year. Nathan Peterman! Continuing to rely on Foster, Roberts, Kroft, Dimarco week after week on offense -
2020 Bills Unrestricted Free Agents

2020 Bills Unrestricted Free Agents
DuckyBoys replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
only one I want to have back 100% is Spain No way I'm investing heavy into Shaq Lawson or Jordan Phillips . Only the Bills believed in Phillips so maybe he stays on a reasonable contract I worry we'll overpay to keep "process" guys I want DiMarco, Gore, Foster, Kroft. gone asap. -
McDermott: Josh Allen 'tried to do too much' in loss

no timeouts and 15 on the clock A short completion they might not be able to clock it? -

Yeah they need to execute everything perfect The margin of error with how this team plays is minimal. Some of that falls on McDermott We didn't play aggressive when we needed to. Talent wise I maintain we didn't use what we had. No excuse for DiMarco to be getting all those snaps in OT No excuse to run Gore from heavy run formation looks on 2nd and 10 repeatedly for no gain. Really no excuse for Gore to have touched the ball unless Singeltary was winded -
Agreed in 2018 they gave Josh Allen a 1977 AMC Pacer with a blown headgasket to work with In 2019 he got 2005 Camry with bald tires. Troubling to me is how we continued to surround Josh with a over the hill 36 yr old rb, plus a bunch of special teams guys in key moments Did my eyes deceive me or was Dimarco in more snaps in OT than Singeltary? How was Duke inactive all those games. Not saying he's Calvin Johnson but at minimum he was a viable 3rd target

Daboll Brutal Down the Stretch
DuckyBoys replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When he's asked to do too much he falters. He is always the focal point He did account for 90% of the Bills tds this year. Daboll put him in way too many bad situations. OT and Singeltary is not involved. 5wr sets with Gore and Dimarco? Even stupid Bill O'Brien didnt put Watson out there in shotgun empty on every snap He knew clock was no factor and involved Duke Johnson to help his qb get the ball out if Hopkins was covered. -

Maybe at the very top but not the overall roster. To be fair those elite players came up with more plays when needed. O'Brien is a lousy coach and yesterday McDermott coached down to his level. Everybody keeps saying we need better players and Allen needs to get better. First off the coaching and personnel usage needs to greatly improve. Were not going to be a real super bowl contender till we have elite level coaching. I don't have any faith in McDermott adapting. Same guy that trotted Nathan Peterman out multiple times put his franchise qb out with special teams contributors instead of playmakers. At this point I question what he's basing his personnel decisions on. Morse whiffed on the edge contain Not Knox -
McDermott: Josh Allen 'tried to do too much' in loss
DuckyBoys replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
anything other than a handoff into the a gap is radical football for McDermott Kid was trying to make a play He didnt throw him under the bus when he went full Supeman on some of those wild 4th down sneaks How about your defense comes out in the 2nd half next time -
NFL turnover means we really dont know how tough the schedule will be. They need to upgrade personnel , Allen and some of the other young guys need to continue to improve and honestly we need more from the coaching. McDermott needs to be willing to change his game plan week to week Some weeks we need the defense to take some chances and try and create havoc. Defense did not have one td this year. On offense some consistency and identity would help. Your building blocks are Allen and Singeltary. make the rest fit what those two guys do best He needs to be better with personnel decisions No more tired vets playing over more talented players

Being down after leading 16-0 is pretty Billsy Especially after suffocating Houston in the 1st half We llost to Bill O'Brien who has mastered choking to lesser talent
