  1. Replay, to me, is meant as a tool of correction for egregiously incorrect calls. If you need to look at ten slow speed angles for 7+ minutes, it isn’t egregiously incorrect, it is minute. At the very least, there absolutely needs to be a “replay clock” where they only get 2-3 minutes to look at it. Still looking when time expires? Call on the field stands.
  2. This will never, ever happen. With that said, I agree 100%. Part of the reason I enjoy High School Football so much is that it’s still pure football. No interruptions from a million different replays. My somewhat realistic solution to the replay problem is to give each coach 2 challenges, everything is challengeable. There is no booth review within 2 minutes, every challenge must initiate from a coach. You don’t get another challenge for getting one right. Replay reviews have a 2 minute “shot clock” and must be viewed in real time. If 2 minutes of viewing expires the call on the field automatically stands.
  3. Well said. This is exactly what I have been pining the table about since the Murray hype train started rolling. You are betting on Murray comparing to the extreme exception to the rule (R. Wilson), and gambling first overall talent to get it.
  4. Here’s the thing. Cardinals GM suffered from recency bias with this decision. Mayfield was said to be short (albeit much much taller than Murray) and he succeeded. If he busted, we aren’t talking Murray anywhere near first overall. The Cardinals GM looked at the one recent example of success of a short QB as the model to project future success. Murray could end up being good, sure, anything can happen. I feel like the risk of busting was far too large for him to be a first overall selection. He is going to be getting tackled by absolute beast athletes who are literally double his weight.
  5. The part that always seemed odd to me was that he didn’t have the height measurement done at his pro day, even though he was being weighed again.
  6. I can never fault a guy for wanting to stay close to his family.
  7. No more than a 2nd. Dee Ford Trade is the comp I would use far more than the Chandler trade.
  8. So if you realize the mistake do you think that league wouldn’t have succeeded if they followed their original growth plan?
  9. Absolutely redundant on a team that just signed Kroft and drafted Knox.
  10. I’m under the (hopeful) assumption that Brady will actually retire at some point in our lifetimes.
  11. I cannot wait to see this guy have a multiple sack game against Josh Rosen. Welcome to the AFC east cupcake
  12. Those completion percentages aren’t even in the same ball park.
  13. I tend to agree with buffalobillswin. Being the all time leading scorer as a kicker doesn’t hold much weight to me. Isn’t the Packers kicker their all time leading scorer as well? He will most certainly be the last kicker every selected in the first.
  14. At the ripe young age of 41 too...
  15. Absolutely. He averaged 58 yards and .70 TD’s per game on a team that also saw their WR drafted in the first two rounds, TE drafted in the 3rd, and another receiver that will be drafted. It isn’t like he caught one pass for 10 yards per game and only dominated the combine. I was pounding the table for him in the late 2nd round hard. Would far and away rather have D.K. than Singletary and Knox but I hope history proves me wrong. Even if all he did was run streaks five times a game in his rookie year I would have been ecstatic. He can outrun and outmuscle whatever DB they put to cover him. He’s going to be open on one of those streak routes or make a play.
  16. I would have taken him in the third even if all they did this year was tell him to run straight. Eventually he’s going to burn that RB and catch a bomb. With Buffalo’s WR signings I actually thought D.K. would be perfect here. Could ease him in through a few plays a game. Have him take over more of the load next year or the year after. I’m really disappointed he isn’t a Bill but time will tell.
  17. Hype or not, as a combine warrior alone, I would have been thrilled with DK in the 3rd round. Far more than a RB. It’s not like D.K. didn’t produce when not injured.
  18. I agree with, and support this. Trade McCoy for whatever you can get. Singletary and Yeldon are the two RB’s I absolutely want on the roster. Don’t care much about the others but am intrigued by the season Gore had last year on an average at best Dolphins team. Love Yeldon for 3rd down receiving and Singletary due to recency bias.
  19. Very raw player who is in the same mold as Allen. Huge arm (was yelled at for throwing too hard at the combine), good mobility, questionable accuracy and ball security. I’m very excited to have him on this team. I would roll with Allen/Barkley with Tyree on the practice squad.
  20. He absolutely, 100% did not write this. You don’t go from “nine mistakes made ahead of me” to being ok with what Arizona just did to him.
  21. I just discovered the story that is David Sills football career. This guy is fascinating. USC QB recruit in the 7th grade. De-commits, goes to WVU, converts to WR, goes to junior college to play QB, goes back to WVU as a WR and lights it up. I can’t figure out how this guy wasn’t drafted given his college production? Anyone know the answer to that one. Did scouts just think he caught all these TDS by dumb luck? It’s not like he played at some division 3 football program.
  22. I agree with this. They should be bringing up Robert Foster and Levi Wallace in every single UDFA pitch.
  23. Biggest crock in the NFL. Let me give you a draft pick because you couldn’t or wouldn’t re-sign your player.
