Certainly doesn’t seem like cap space matters most. Indianapolis- zero deals, Buffalo - Zero deals, Cleveland - zero deals, Jets - one deal. Top 4 cap space teams, one combined deal.
I’m still hoping the Bills are stealthy in on Bell. 85 receptions for 655 yards in 2017. To go along with 1300 rushing yards. 11 total TD’s. Give him 15 million. Cut Shady and Gore and it’s like your paying Bell 6 million a year. Yeah, I’ll take Bell for 6 million more than Gore and McCoy.
Problem is, it’s a low-risk no reward move. You aren’t getting a game breaking back, nor one that can develop into a game breaking back. Would have rather spent league minimum on an UDFA RB.
I don’t get the logic behind this one. I can’t see it at all. “Dawkins opens up a gaping hole to the left, you could drive a truck through that, here comes (Shady, Ivory, especially Gore) and.... ohhh he breaks a hip.”
If the Bills org wants them, its going to be an overpayment that people will probably complain about. I definitely want Morse and Williams but I’m realistic as well. It’s going to cost a lot. If they want both of them, I’m preparing for 15 million per for each. Anything less would be pleasantly surprising. I think at that cost you definitely get them, even to Buffalo.
I’ve said before. Morse and Williams still on the market. I honestly don’t care how free agency plays out if they can land those two. For all we know they are on the full court press for those two and think its likely they sign.
The good news is, the Bills haven’t signed anyone and none of the top OL have signed (besides Brown). One could optimistically deduce the Bills are therefore negotiating with Paradis, Morse, and Williams.
Call me crazy. But man do I want Bell on the Bills. Great running back, fresh after sitting out a year. Amazing receiver out of the back field. Sign him to his 15 million, cut Shady and his 7.
My thoughts for this draft as well. Only position I see really good value and a stud player at 9. Especially if the 2 QB’s expected to go top 10, go top 10.
At least at 9 you are probably getting your “pick of the litter” at OL. But I just don’t see any value this year in taking an OL at 9. I would prefer a guy in the 2nd if you want a really good young OL to bring along. This is the same argument I have against a receiver at 9, I just don’t see the value there. If they are going to go OL or WR at 9 they can trade down as many as 10 spots and still get a really good one at either position.
If it takes that to get Williams and Paradis/Morse, I give them each 13 million per. This is pretty much the only way to upgrade the offensive line this off season. Otherwise you are drafting a OL at 9 out of necessity, then still adding a depth OL in round 3-7. And there is still a good possibility your line sucks next season.
