  1. From last year: https://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/11/nfl-bills-nathan-peterman-stats-tyrod-taylor-chargers-interceptions And now this year: https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2018/09/09/buffalo-bills-make-ravens-history-bad-way/1249963002/
  2. So he is the worst QB since 2001 to start more than one game. That is on him for being bad and on the coaches for putting him out there. All three of these guys had only one start and were also out of the league in 1-2 years.
  3. Also: 37-7 in only half first game 40-0 in early 3rd of this game
  4. He also already owns two records in only 3 starts: Start 1 - most int's in a half. Start 3 - Bills worst season opening loss.
  5. Has any QB had a worse start to their career? He has three starts and all under 100 yds passing. Basically all under 50% passing. 7 picks in 42 passes. Has there ever been a worse three starts? 6-14, , 66 yds, 0, td, 5 int 5-10, 57 yds, 1 td, 0 int 5-18, 24 yds, 0 td, 2 int
  6. Agreed. Peterman should not even be in the league let alone a starting QB. It is ego - McD wants to prove that he is right for having faith in NP. I know some may disagree because McD is professional etc. But this happens all the time in pro sports. We saw it with Marrone, Whaley, Ryan, and on and on. Sometimes your ego can get the best of you.
  7. Peterman is terrible no matter where he was drafted or how many games he has started etc. BUt as the article last week discussed - he is ne of very very few that have ever started for a team that just drafted a top 10 QB. It is sad.
  8. Today is not the day to criticize Tyrod. We lost 47-3 and our QB's were atrocious. He was QB for a 0-16 team and took one of the better teams in the league into OT. Bills would have been much more competitive today with Tyrod at QB.
  9. It was basically Peterman looked that bad. Made a normally average performance for Allen look good. only McD wants NP.
  10. But is that because the starting point is so low? He is learning footwork etc which most guys learned at a big time college not in the NFL. Allen has never been anywhere - small town ca, JUCO and then WYO. Its a good thing in that he can grow hopefully, but bad if you dont have the folks to get him there. To this point I think it has been mostly Daboll, I just think he hits a ceiling potentially with this supporting cast and that slows his growth. .
  11. But it is the coaches job and ultimately the GM job to make sure your 1st round QB develops. Are we setting Allen up to succeed? A QB coach that has not done anything for any NFL QB ever. A group of QB's that adds nothing to his development - he is not learning from watching Peterman let alone if Peterman wanted to mentor him. As the article suggest this is a very rare occasion to have a top 10 QB sitting behind a nobody.
  12. Who has been a WR coach for the past 30 years. He did have a few small stints as QB coach in the 80's at Southwest Louisiana and Western Kentucky...
  13. McDermott really likes Peterman, and he wants to show the world, and the Deadspin crowd, that he was right about Peterman all along. https://footballmaven.io/bills/news/how-rare-is-buffalo-bills-decision-to-start-nathan-peterman-first-in-47-years-xLPjsUBuo0yKdZWLgDl3IA/
  14. How does anyone not give them an F for the Sabres? They could be the worst franchise in any major sport right now. No playoffs in in how may years?
  15. Why not do both? We were a playoff team. I agree. Just sucks for fans and players that they were in a situation that Peterman is your best option.
  16. Well there has to be a winner right? Peterman was not amazing he just won the battle against an average back up and a rookie. That is not saying much. If we cut him I dont think we would have teams racing to sign him.
  17. I was not high on AJM either. I think it depends on how close you think the team is. If they can compete then you get them a QB that can get the job done. And no way they really believe that is Peterman or they would not have gotten AJM and Allen. So going with him feels a bit like folding on the season but obviously hoping for the best. But its not making a strong play. They had cash and cap room, they wasted cash and cap room on some random moves like Coleman, etc. So I think they should have done more at the QB position.
  18. Could be the case. I am fine Allen not being ready. I just dont agree with Peterman being the guy you go with. I think psychology can play a role in peoples decisions, especially those with big egos. In my mind there are and were so many better options than Peterman even if Allen is not the guy.
  19. The Bills took some slack around the league last year starting Peterman over Tyrod. Then it completely blew up in their face when Peterman failed in historic magnitude. Luckily the Bills made the playoffs because if they had barely missed I think it would have been talked about over and over how the coach failed the team with that decision. Fast forward a year and I cant help but think McD doesn't still fume over this. That his ego is still hurt and wants redemption. If Peterman can be even ok then McD can turn the page on his terrible decision last year. Does this cloud his judgement and push the Peterman as the starter? I still cannot fathom how this team goes into the season with him as the starter. Its not like he was a high pick that you dont want to give up on. We are talking about a marginal guy that has shown he is average at best, limited upside and has minimal value as a mentor to a young QB. Makes no sense. If we are going with the average guy why not bring in a vet that can mentor Allen until he is ready. Starting Peterman is a waste of time. Yes maybe he plays great and increases his trade value but that is a longshot. Might as well roll the dice on a former early pick if that is the game.
  20. I hope Allen has a higher football IQ than Peterman.
  21. Not for a guy like him though. Just dont see it. He was gone if AJM showed anything.
  22. I agree its lame. Guess I am being sarcastic in that I would prefer to see NP throw 5 picks than watch us lose 21-3 every week with him going 15-25 for 175 yds.
  23. It is sad. I am really disappointed to see NP as the starting QB. I feel let down by this FO to go from a playoff team to one with NP that is a consensus worst team in the league. I would rather have had another year of Tyrod and a chance to compete while turning the reigns over to Allen. Just my opinion.
  24. Sadly I am kind of rooting for Peterman to throw a bunch of picks in the opener. Just for the story line and speed up the process of Allen getting in there. I would not feel that way if I felt this team had a shot. But Peterman is probably the worst QB in a long list I have seen the Bills put out there.
  25. They know nothing and always pick us to be bad. They have done it for like 18 straight years and never get it right. Wait, we made the playoffs only once during that time? Ummmm
