This proposal is an easy yes from me just like it's been every other time it's been proposed.

Chris Simms actually ended up ranking the 2018 class as follows: Josh Allen Josh Rosen Baker Mayfield Lamar Jackson Sam Darnold The clip of him ranking Lamar and Allen at the top was an older take before he changed it all at the last minute.

It's draft season. I for one am thoroughly enjoying all the Wilson > Lawrence and Fields > Lawrence takes lately. I saw a few people over the past few days say that they've charted all of the prospects passes and determined that Fields is the most accurate passer in the class, with one of them saying Fields is the best prospect he's scouted since at least the Andrew Luck draft if not further back than that.

Yep, this won't work unless they propose pushing everything in the offseason back in addition to this change, and then it'll probably be viewed as too drastic a change for something that isn't really broken in the first place.

I'm not sure who they'll ultimately pick between he and Brate (I assume Gronk is a lock to return), but if they're willing to move one of the two for a Day 3 pick, I'm all in. I'd prefer either one of them over any of the free agent options out there.

Hendrickson has generally graded out pretty solid against the run as well. Right on about the other two though.

I went for Hendrickson and Clowney personally but you could justify a lot of these guys.

Kind of an interesting note from PFF re: Ngakoue: Maybe teams will continue thinking that if he succeeds from the wide-9 type alignments, that he can learn to succeed from other similar alignments, but if not, he seems like a very very niche skillset. I'm not sure how often different teams line up that way; I remember in the early 2010's when the Eagles did it a lot and garnered a lot of media attention at the time for it but that's about it.

All reports are that Tampa will most likely be franchise tagging Chris Godwin while trying to sign both Godwin and Shaq to long-term contracts. But long story short, Barrett likely will not be tagged. That plus the coverage. Bud has statistically struggled in terms of beating his man 1 on 1; he just racks up coverage sacks/cleans plays up after someone else gets the initial pressure. I wouldn't touch Dupree personally. Watt was the top option out there IMO, but there's still a lot of good options depending on how much we're willing to spend. Clowney, Leonard Floyd, and Trey Hendrickson are all pretty versatile, being good pass-rushers in addition to being solid against the run. Guys like Carl Lawson or Ngakoue might offer more as pass-rushers but are liabilities in the run game but they still are worth considering.

I would take any of those guys over Dupree, especially if Dupree gets the contract he wants. Honestly will be happy if we end up with any of those guys.

To be fair, they might have if Kyler Murray hadn't gotten hurt and they could take a leap like we did if Murray takes a leap.

I'm not sure this actually means anything considering he had it narrowed down to Cleveland and Tampa according to his Peloton profile a few days ago but -shrugs-

Yeah I can't imagine Buffalo touches that price-wise. Doesn't mean Watt will ultimately accept that much anyways; for all we know that's an offer from a crap team he isn't interested in.

The biggest thing for me is he was one of, if not the most double teamed guy in the league this past year (at least as far as edge-ish rushers go) and he was still productive. To me, this means that as long as he stays healthy, he should: Free up Hughes, and to a larger extent, Oliver, to have more 1 on 1 matchups (particularly Oliver, who was very good when blocked by a single blocker but pedestrian against double teams) Improve our run defense Get pressure on the QB himself Continue deflecting passes at the line which could theoretically improve our tight end defense

Yeah, probably true but I think they'd find a way to make it work if Snyder and Bezos actually want to play ball with each other. Bezos has always been the guy to watch if Snyder wants to sell the team, especially now considering that the new Amazon HQ is being built here. I would imagine a lot of the owners in the league would not be fans of Bezos joining the club though given both the egos involved money-wise and also the political leanings.

Probably better to just not tag him at all than transition. You don't get pick compensation if you let a transition tag guy walk AFAIK.

To be fair, you could say the same about the other 31 teams too. Syracuse doesn’t turn out much NFL talent these days.

It's going to be a high 4.4 if he does sneak in there. I would tend to think he's in the low 4.5's but I know Tony Pauline for example has him pegged as a 4.47.
