  1. I sure hope so
  2. Robert Braswell and John Bol Ajak officially entering the transfer portal. Boeheim says he expects 4-6 players to leave, not sure if that's including Dolezaj and Sidibe in the math or not.
  3. His short arms and lack of leaping ability is gonna make finishing really difficult. Joe needs to develop a floater game IMO. I haven't watched Benny at all yet; I'll go through and watch some of his high school games in a few months probably.
  4. Of course he can grow and develop. And once he does develop into a good player, I'd happily give him minutes. But I don't think there's much of a chance of him ever being a plus as a defender or creator. The athletic limitations are just nearly impossible for him to overcome unfortunately. Shooting? I could see him becoming a good shooter. But even if he does I'm not sure he's a positive contributor unless we change how we use him (i.e. Kadary handling the ball and Girard running around screens like you mentioned). But with Buddy occupying that spot, we're talking about a 15ish minute role for Girard.
  5. I guess we'll see with Joe. I don't think he's going anywhere. To me, he shouldn't be anything more than a 10-15 minutes per game kinda guy. I don't really care about his assist numbers; he doesn't really create offense for his teammates (which is an issue for nearly the entire roster outside of Kadary and Dolezaj). He doesn't shoot the ball well from 3, he's okay at best from mid-range, and flat out terrible at the rim. And he is not a good defender; I don't care what Boeheim tries to convince the media. Someone mentioned Cooney below...Cooney was actually pretty good in the zone; almost always in the right spot and got his hands on a lot of passes. Girard is pretty good at jumping passing lanes but he's slow in his rotations and even if he is in the right spot, everybody can shoot over him without any trouble and get by him without any trouble because he's small and not very athletic. I'm not sure he's a positive contributor even if his 3 pointers are falling, and through two years, they generally are not falling. Kadary and Buddy should both be playing over 30 minutes a game next year and then Joe can have the leftovers if we don't get a better guard through the transfer portal.
  6. I think Jimmy shot like 29% from 3 this year so not sure he’s much of a shooter but he was very productive for Cornell this past year. Honestly don’t know much about him as a player. I think Joe can be good in a bench gunner role but it’s hard for me to ever see him being a greatly impactful player. Just an okay shooter and caretaker of the ball and he’s pretty much useless inside the 3 point line and a negative on defense. Unless they develop their games in unforeseen ways, I don’t think it makes sense to play Joe and Buddy together; just takes too much away from our defense IMO.
  7. I guess we’ll see with Sidibe. Maybe we already know he isn’t healthy, but multiple sources have made it known Sidibe is almost certainly gone. re: Kadary, idk if it’s all about playing time but I think it could boil down to the exit meetings. If Boeheim is saying it’ll be a platoon with Joe again next year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kadary go somewhere with more minutes available. There’s no reason he shouldn’t be playing over 30 minutes a game. Oh, and everyone I’ve spoken to thinks it’s a lock that Jimmy Boeheim transfers in to give us some help at the forward position.
  8. And Girard himself
  9. Yes, there’s definitely a risk of him leaving. The current sentiment seems to be that we aren’t really expecting him back but he isn’t a lock to leave. Dolezaj, Sidibe, Griffin, and Newton are pretty much considered locks. Other people are hearing Guerrier is likely out and Kadary might be; I personally haven’t heard anything about either.
  10. They both are in all likelihood. We’re going to have 4-6 guys to replace this offseason.
  11. You go to Syracuse for college and you’ll find half the campus are Jets fans lol. I live in DC now but most of my friends are Jets or Pats fans.
  12. Every Jets fan I know says it’s a lock that they’re taking Wilson so I guess we’re at an impasse lol
  13. I don't know about Atlanta but I think it would make a ton of sense for them to take one or a lot of sense to trade down if not. Seems like it's an open secret that the Jets have already decided to take Zach Wilson.
  14. There is definitely a chance. In all likelihood, the QBs are going top 4. Then it comes down to Sewell, Pitts, and Chase at #5 and Cinci could go with any of those guys there.
  15. They can still almost certainly get Bateman at 18 if not one of the top 3 WRs (and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if one of the top 3 makes it there).
  16. It's still just free value to them though. Also with that division I don't think it's any guarantee that pick doesn't end up being a mid-1st or better.
  17. They got an extra 1st and 3rd round pick and still get the guy they wanted.
  18. If I were in their shoes, I take Sewell or Pitts at 6 and then go WR at 18 and suddenly your supporting cast around Tua is a lot better. Seems like they'll likely go WR at #6 though which is a mistake IMO.
  19. Great day for Phins fans. Pick up an extra 1st and 3rd while still getting their guy; impressive stuff. Obviously have to hope Tua pans out still but it's way too early to give up on him after a solid rookie year, especially considering what he was returning from and how bad his supporting cast was.
  20. Yes there is expected to be decent value at CB available at 30.
  21. I think it's mostly wishful thinking from people that didn't want a RB in the draft in the first place (myself included). We're already likely looking at cutting/trading/deactivating one of our talented RBs as is. It's certainly possible that we draft one of the top RBs and then cut Breida and trade/cut Singletary but I'm really hoping that isn't the way we use our draft picks.
  22. I'm hoping this means I don't need to worry about burning another early pick on a RB but we'll see. If the plan is to dress 3 RBs on gameday like we did this past year, I'm curious to see how this plays out. You'd think Moss will be a lock and you'd think Taiwan would be active for special teams so that only leaves one spot for Singletary/Breida unless one of them becomes a special teamer.
  23. He ended up being the #2 guy when healthy but he dealt with injuries for most of the season last year. Sprained his MCL around Week 7 or so and had a lingering hamstring issue the rest of the year.
  24. I want on a binge of Syracuse games (and watching the Cubs World Series TV broadcasts for the first time) at the beginning of the pandemic when we didn't have any sports to watch. Teams like the 2003 team and the MCW Final Four team looked like they were playing a totally different sport from what we saw last year and most of this year. They ran the floor so much and were just everywhere defensively. Our defensive intensity so far in the tournament has been a really pleasant surprise. I can't imagine he'll actually leave early, but I wouldn't be surprised if Buddy tests the waters this offseason to get feedback from NBA teams.
  25. The OP specifically says WR group, so I'm personally ignoring the tight ends. Need to wait and see what the WR groups look like when the offseason is over IMO. If the Bucs bring Antonio Brown back again, which seems increasingly likely, I think that locks Tampa in as the #1 group in football. Two of the top 10 or so WRs in the league, Brown is still very good, and solid depth behind them with Miller and Johnson. I would probably go: Tampa (assuming they bring AB back, probably down to #3 if not) Buffalo Dallas Arizona NY Giants Cleveland Pittsburgh Jags definitely are nowhere near #1 but it is a talented group there. Conley just signed with Houston though.
