  1. I'd determine coaching sadness in a franchise as how many coaches you've had for X amount of years. So having Marv Levy for as long makes us less sad than many other franchises. Not sure if making it to 4 seasons bodes well for McD in a vacuum. Would have sucked with Rex (I'm not trying to say they're the same whatsoever just an example). If he earns is 4th year next year then we simply hired a good coach. If he Juaron's his way to marginal improvement by year 3 and stagnation then it's more wasted seasons. I think he was all but guaranteed 4 years when we got him and Beane on a rebuild singing the process tune. It's great to have a plan starting out.. something we should continue to strive for going forward if god forbid we have to get another coach (and plans don't always = rebuild, McVay & co had a plan). But the plan should unequivocally show us if he's got the chops to stay onboard by years 3 or 4 (I personally don't think 3 is unreasonable to make a sober evaluation). Just like JA, Tremaine Edmunds, McD himself was a new rookie head coach that has made some serious errors in judgement while showing strong leadership qualities and a great defensive mind and defensive back player evaluation.. and ostensibly showing he's learning from some of his mistakes. So, like JA, if McD is better by the year I'm alright. We should have all coaches not named Rex Ryan get at least 3 years, McD has certainly earned year 3, but this is a very important year for him. I'm at the point of evaluating him on a year to year basis if I'm want him back the next. He definitely fielded a scary bad team first half of the season and I need to see us start out and finish as strong as we're capable of being. Coaching a team for 4 years doesn't make you great. But at least it gives you a chance to be great.
  2. him and Kamara are the strongest RB assets you can have right now IMO.. Saquon probably in those ranks. The top 5 RBs between those 3, Zeke and Gurley (Bell a dark horse) is pretty interchangeable to me, so I'm going off contract status.
  3. plus if I'm choosing/handing out punishments between a Josh Gordon type: caught for marijuana and alcohol at the inopportune times (although I'm sure there's more substance abuse.. and other drugs.. than that) harming virtually only himself over a Hunt type: legitimate harm to other people coupled with alcohol abuse. But Gordon's probably done and Hunt can still carve out a great career if he steers clean going forward. Strange it's the Browns given their RB situation but I see the asset flip idea, as some are suggesting, they could potentially have at the position seeing how it pans out over Hunt's and Chubb's rookie contracts the next few years.
  4. How does one monopolize breaking news like Woj has done in the NBA. Baffling that he's literally the only source seems like
  5. Seeing J Phillips blow up the Dolphins line at will just because he was an out of control maniac (getting flags and benched) was enough for me. He's a solid depth piece to keep around.. and he looks like he can turn on the jets any given game and take over an OL when his emotions are dialed in. I was a fan after that Dolphins game, not because of the flags, but simply seeing him get to the backfield at will 3 consecutive plays just because he hates his old team showed me at worst he's solid depth, at best he's stomping around the backfield looking for the carrier like Godzilla. Could have had a phenomenal game at Dolphins and changed this whole conversation based on that if he wasn't being such a jackwagon lol.
  6. a destructive plague pandemic would make my commute to work better. And I'll let Bill Burr speak for my opinion on the trooops.
  7. That's just lack of judgement. They're Italian, maybe weren't aware but it looks racist as all get out. How can you not see it lol. Makes people look like Samba cartoons. I'm sure they had different colors or whatever, but that model looks absolutely insane in the black and red one. They're also just ugly and weird which is offensive to my fashion sense.
  8. yeah but that was back when Pats were making a habit out of getting blown out of SBs. Harmless bad refereeing fun. '85 Bears and '96 Packers. Well done boys.
  9. I was young when this happened but I definitely didn't forget the Tuck Rule in Oakland, Charles Woodson to THIS DAY is salty over it. That was his SB. It should be included in every football fan's learning curriculum lest it gets forgotten "Now remember, the Patriots Dynasty started with this hogwash." Was the Tuck Rule technically correct at the time? I recall people saying it was by the letter of the NFL law.. and has since changed because.. how TF is that not a fumble.
  10. the dorkiest athlete to be annointed GOAT. Brady is a DORK. eat manure Brady.
  11. He also showed a knack for forced fumbles.. which would be great off the edge. I wouldn't be opposed to having him play more hybrid OLB/MLB to get an idea of what position he best serves us getting reps in future seasons. I'd move him to OLB now, but I know their plans for him are currently at MLB
  12. Also feels like we're putting monumental expectations on him that are getting borderline unreasonable.. like next year is MVP or bust or something. I just want improvement. I know his physical abilities from rookie year. Sophomore year I need to see ability to improve and learn over an offseason, work ethic, etc.. Third year I want to be convinced he's the franchise. 5th year MVP? Sure. Matt Ryan and Cam evolved that way.
  13. I like it. I prefer this guy over getting an Andre Holmes. We still gotta actually put some effort into the WR corp at some point folks, use some assets for a proven or coveted draft talent.
  14. heard about that. Super weird. I seriously doubt McVay gave anything away though.. probably both sides feeling each other out. But I wonder how many coaches Beli texts with lol. It was probably Ernie Adams catfishing McVay.
  15. I wonder if pounding the AFCE in the regular season with relative ease, using a vanilla (not quite but for lack of a better term) gameplan, while prepping and practicing for a totally different playoff look gives the Pats their advantage. They really didn't look good half of the regular season.. getting beat by the Titans. I attributed it to Pats getting warmed up but yeah.. their offense AND defense really did change dramatically. I'm sure every team has plays up their sleeves but the Pats can cruise through the regular season better than anybody.. plus Beli being more of a detail maniac than anyone.. and likely have a substantial playoff-through-superbowl package all planned out starting week 1. Feels like they've done that of late.. but not before the 3 SB run they've had I'd wager. Not when they were losing to the Giants or exiting early circa 2015. Pats can suck it.
  16. Shoot Rodman would terrify me too haha people forget how good young Pistons version of pre-crazy (at least to the layman) Rodman was
  17. They had their window in between Jordan and the aging Celtics and Lakers. No small feat to beat younger Jordan in those days twice to win the Eastern Conference. It was a matter of time before he blew the door wide open on the NBA and the Pistons were the last team in his way. Bird got done in like paving his driveway and injuring his back. A driveway. Half paved. Ended the Celtics dynasty. He was really banged up by that point regardless. One of my favorite players of yore
  18. The 30 for 30 on them was great. I know Dantley was a former scoring leader but it was trading him for Mark Aguirre that got them over the hump. And great drafting.
  19. That's just like your opinion man. No but my buddies and I follow NBA the whole season, go to Dallas Mavs games, fantasy basketball. Good time! I mean I think baseball is boring as heck but I get why people like sports in general haha. It ain't for me though Oh yeah a team with Ewing as its best player has no business going deep in the playoffs. Good but not championship tier.. same with the Reggie Miller Pacers. The 90s teams needed Olajuwan or some dude named MJ. Bill Simmons made a good point that Isaiah Thomas is one of the few superstars through the 80s and 90s to win with no real second banana. Or at least the bad boy Pistons had the worst second banana of all the championship teams.. still a great overall team though
  20. Goff's a great quarterback. For some reason sucking in the SB is worse than sucking on a sub .500 team with a terrible offense.. call it.. sucking on average vs playing phenomenal then sucking on the 19th game of the season to average out to a solid 30 ppg
  21. Haha weird scoring system. Not very Julio friendly. But.. definitely keep him I am in PPR 10 per. The TDs suck I always figure "he's due" Don't keep fournette. You have one of the top WRs coming off his 2nd best year.
  22. They probably played it safe and went with a non-indo-european language in case Goff picked up on prefixes and suffixes and such. Bill's a mastermind. He switched the translator to Navajo.
  23. Julio? Dude was the NFL recieving leader! 1600+, DON'T LET HIM GO IF HE'S ON THE FALCONS. I had him too. Just doesn't get as many TDs as you'd wish
