  1. 8/25/2019 - Captain Andrew Luck lays down his side arm for a peaceful life in the country side with his ever anxious mother. A gentleman, a scholar, and the great soldier we didn't deserve.
  2. I think his football IQ was as much the problem as his arm. Wouldn't call him smart by any means seeing his decision making. Now how much is chalked to nerves vs actual football intelligence who knows. But it's not a smart play to lob the ball up when you can't see over the DE about to nail you.
  3. Very good news about Edmunds. I haven't been paying too much attention to preseason for the blue balls but Edmunds would probably be a development I'd watch the closest.
  4. IIRC correctly his potential dedication to football was a knock way back in his scouting report. Just that he had other interests or something because he's obviously obsessed with football.
  5. Wow I can respect Irsay a lot more now
  6. I'm going to go on a limb and guess Colts fans aren't being the most gracious about this. Same fan base that didn't think Peyton Manning did enough for them
  7. Those SBs go a long way in the resume though. I guess Gostkowski makes it. I'd have thought Wilfork would be in but he's probably been on a few ballots by now. Idk are you saying they shouldn't be ranked that high? Cause they were playing in a league of their own that year. HOFers or not. Strahan and Eli from the Giants are the only sure HOFers I can think of.
  8. If that's the same Quarterback Club later made by Acclaim, then that game was great. Quarterback Club 98 and 99 were supposed to be better than the Madden games at the time. Plus they had the entire NFL rosters.
  9. Why do you guys want to hate this dude so much? Everybody knows Kansas and their fans are the pits of the world if that Baker episode is what has you bothered.
  10. Hm Brady, Randy Moss, Welker, Matt Light, Mankins, Wilfork, Vrabel, Bruschi, Rodney Harrison, Gostkowski .. 10?? Good lord. That's why I always liked that Giants team, made plenty of HOFers that season too. Went toe to toe vs the Patriots in a meaningless late regular season game and should have handed them their first lost. Went to the SB knowing they could beat them. Boss move.
  11. Singletary is a solid sleeper getting thrown around
  12. right.. so what would any other team possibly want for him other than a 6th / 7th rounder
  13. you can thank the scrappy Giants for Pats not being #1
  14. They'd have to be worth next to nothing. Just keep em. They're infinitely more valuable to us on the team than whatever they'd go for in trade.
  15. I'm not sure either, although I would give credit to McDermott if I had to choose. He's still coaching the scheme very successfully with these guys which mean something. He was the one there for Tre White, Poyer, and Hyde. But again the regime still seems to hit on all their dumpster diving. I was partial to Taron Johnson last year.. I can't think of a secondary addition that didn't exceed expectations.. except Vontae Davis lol.
  16. I've become infatuated with the NBA recently, but it hasn't changed my NFL activity one bit. NFL just doesn't take nearly as much time as the other leagues. The only thing really is the NFL offseason just sucks in comparison to NBA. I completely tune out until regular season begins whereas in the past I'd watch the draft and meticulously monitor Free Agent moves. The survey may apply better between sports that have similar schedules.. NHL, NBA, MLB, MLS. But it's hard for any league to detract from the NFL. With just 16 games mostly on Sundays anybody that enjoys football can tune in for a bit without detracting from NBA etc. If there's only 16 games and you enjoy the sport you're gonna watch NFL and not be terribly worried about missing 1 of 82 NBA games.
  17. I think the NBA may eclipse the NFL in the future. I can see it legit blowing up right now.. and the league's doing a lot of things right. But the NFL is clearly still going to be strong for the foreseeable future. People claiming kneeling and injuries are losing viewership are not seeing correlation over causation. It's just cord cutting.. and that will be more efficiently monetized eventually. But the NFL / NBA split is going to lose some NFL fans to the youth to a degree. NBA is a personality driven Soap Opera storyline added to sports where players can shift power like it's game of thrones.. and it's awesome haha. Just a different sports experience really. So people will have their preferences between enjoying the storyline, or feeling it detracts from the game.
  18. Probably. One more CB and I'd definitely crown them. Still wish we kept Gilmore or Darby around to make it the next Legion of Boom. You get 2 CB1s lined up every down with pro bowl safeties around them and you have a competitive advantage only teams like Seattle back in the day, Denver's No Fly Zone with Aqib Talib and Chris Harris Jr, Pats with Gilmore / Browner / Revis / Butler / Chung / Mcourtney / Logan.. I think it's a smart way to build a great team. But yeah they're great. Poyer and Hyde have been my favorite signings from this regime. The Safety position went from hopeless to one of the NFL best overnight.
  19. Oh yeah he was fantastic this is too bad. Dude was solid as a rock in his first stint.. I'd even say underrated by some of us here. But I'm excited for Taron Johnson to get more opportunities. I think McBeane's work in the secondary has been the regime's best contribution. Wouldn't second guess them now.
  20. JA's got the most talent I've ever seen from a Bills player live. I began watching in the Flutie years. That said he's still got to put it together but he hasn't done anything to make me doubt he can.
  21. I think the preseason can show the team isn't bad.. but I don't really think it's any indication of a team being good. Like you said.. the Bills are doing what any team worth it's salt SHOULD do. An especially bad preseason performance can tell some fans they're going nowhere that year.. thankfully the Bills aren't doing that right now
  22. Y'all always got a chance with Aaron Rodgers. He just looks like he's fed up with getting to play with mostly garbage at this stage of his career. Get that man motivated and protected. Favre had great teams to play with early and late in his career. Rodgers early, but need to get him another shot late in his career. Doesn't look like he's getting the same shake Favre got.
  23. I get your point that Eric Reid is probably better at his position than Kaepernick was at his. But I think a lot of Kaepernick's.. infamy for some.. was in large part from his high profile position at quarterback that got him pinned as the ringleader of all that. I mean, many meathead football fans that don't know what they're talking about would riot if they heard Kaep was talking with their team and not even know who Eric Reid is (or that he's even on their team). I mean TBH there's a ton of reasons Kaep never got signed. Columns A-Z.. part of it was he wasn't good enough for carrying so much baggage sure. But since part of his baggage comes just from being recognizable on someone's fantasy football team.. I do find that unfortunate. He'd still have to be better at his position than Eric Reid at his IMO. On the flip side nobody would give a crap if he wasn't QB and got blackballed partly for non football reasons either.
  24. Because most people don't equate being blackballed for making a protest with being blackballed for beating women
  25. Step up is huge IMO. McKenzie's just the bare minimum you want at WR.. just looked good last year playing next to worse than the minimum. Foster is an actual weapon with a lot of versatility to boot. I'd prefer we didn't trade a WR. Depth at the position is great, we don't know for sure who will get the majority of targets, and the group was so bad last year, I still want to see if it's going to be servicable with 2 FA's added.. and I don't really see any great trade value in these guys as of now anyway. I want to see a true WR1 pan out.. so I'm all for throwing **** at the wall and seeing who sticks, and if it's not Foster, then I don't really see anyone else having the ceiling Foster looks like he has currently. I'd be really ticked if we traded him haha.
