  1. Bear Bryant looked like he tried to kill the entire A&M program with it. Man looks like a lunatic. They made a movie about the Junction Boys.. one of the dumbest coaching ideas I have ever seen. Hard to believe this was tolerated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junction_Boys
  2. yeesh, why are people letting him do so many interviews.. A GQ article is just going to probe him with bait questions to get his feelings out. And he has a really bad filter. I mean Tom friggin Brady??? he was looking for a white guy that throws tantrums and chose the 6 time SB winning greatest player of all time lmao. You quarterback 6 superbowl wins you can get away with anything. It surprising TB's ego hasn't ballooned to anything worse than the occasional in-game fighting. Clearly John McEnroe is the poster child of racial double standards for wearing his heart on his sleeve in sports ODB cmon. Wait he's also one of the most successful players to play his sport. And he pretty much did get roundly criticized.
  3. Yes my rule of thumb for signing off is generally a "go Bills!" or a "f*** those Patriot fellas.. usually the latter.
  4. I'm referencing the Josh Allen for 2019/20 MVP thread. No your numbers are attainable for a sophomore quarterback. That would still be a pretty amazing year if he finishes with that in his 2nd year. The 4000 and 1000 I just can't see NFL DC's allowing a sophomore qb to get away with rushing that much. Would basically be another Pat Mahomes / Dan Marino trajectory... Although Cam Newton got close rookie year in a 4-12 season. NOTE TO BEANE: GET A STEVE SMITH SR CLONE WR ASAP. CAM AND JA THRIVE WITH THAT KIND OF WR PLAY. ^don't understand how Beane and the former Panthers regime never considered that, instead going for the big lugs.
  5. You must have missed the thread. He's going to have MVP numbers. So book your bets in Vegas for a 4000 yard passing, 1000 yard rushing year. That's right we crunched the numbers. Michael Vick's rushing record is going to get crushed. Pretty sure if he actually has those #s we're 14-2 lol.
  6. Born in Poughkeepsie (I assume Giants territory). Lived in Rochester for the majority of my short tenure in NY. Evacuated to Texas, can't say I don't like the cities in TX better, although I did really like Buffalo over Rochester. Sorry folks but the weather and urban life in Austin after spending my last stop in Newark was a game changer. Cowboys were never an option. I hadn't met a Texans fan until 10 years after the franchise started. Bills stayed in my heart. Visiting family in Newark and trying to catch Bills TC is typically the only guaranteed Bills exposure I can get any given year. I sorta just figured any of upstate was Bills country.. I mean the Meadowlands is in friggin New Jersey.
  7. Haha you have a very severe case of BBFS bud.
  8. over my head? Just saying I liked his contribution. But he did tend to get into his fair share of fights on here. Idk what you mean by "incite" is there a story behind that? I might hunt him down in the various Bills forums and DM him for his Twitter account. Dude is the Bills version of WojBombs.
  9. I can see it early on in their body language too. Really makes me wonder what the heck happens in the locker room and what the mood is before they run out on the field. Like McDermott just shot someone's dog in the locker room for his pregame speech or something.
  10. The blowout losses are really concerning. It's not just Nate Peterman either. Both years I see the team show up with just no will to compete on more than one occasion in a season. I get the excuses for the blowout losses, but it's pretty inexcusable for every single player to look completely listless like all McDermott did is just rip out a big fart as his pregame speech and send the boys through the tunnel.
  11. dude 2nd round playoffs is the best week in football. 4 games in 2 days with the top 8 teams! All goes downhill from there. Definitely don't want a 4 team playoff. At least give me an action packed 8 team quarterfinal.
  12. nah the rivalries a big part of what I like about the NFL. I notice that the NBA lacks in this department where divisions have virtually no meaning and they pretty much have the type of schedule you describe.
  13. he definitely ain't wrong. Somehow turned into a rock-star in a tire fire. Bet he made for a sizeable bump in their ratings, merchandise, etc.
  14. My theory is that his running style doesn't need a great OL to be productive. I'll probably be proved wrong per usual. He's been my keeper since his rookie year (and has screwed me over pretty much every year with something lol) on the Steelers OL, so I've been following him closely his whole career, and the OL was considered one of the lesser units in the league. They weren't at all what they are now. He did have a bit low YPC, like 3.5, but I saw the Steelers running him into the ground and saw fantasy gold in one of the few NFL bellcow RBs. Plus the receptions.. he's better than many WR1's on several teams when he lines up wide. If the OC knows what he's doing, I figure he'll be 1000-1200 rushing, 500-800 receiving, he never got a lot of TDs. Keeping him this year, hoping the Jets get a lot out of him and lose a lot along the way. Not a fan of playing AFCE guys but what can ya do. I'm sympathetic with how last year panned out. The guy knows exactly that teams want to run their RBs on 1st contracts to the ground and get all the mileage they can. It's the last position I'd recommend to play given the beating you take, the limited mileage on your legs, and the short shelf life.. possibly one good 2nd contract if you're lucky. Man's doing 400 touches a year and not getting the contract he wants. And I don't think he went into the season planning to not suit up week 12. But with everything that happened over the course of the year, the last thing a RB wants is to have any notion his big guys in the trenches aren't having his back. Then he lost all that money eventually going to the Jets, and some in the media were downright gloating at his gall to do what he did. Sounds extremely frustrating. There should be like.. special salary caps for rookie RB contracts given that unlike the loads of money the Rams p**sed away on Sam Bradford waiting for him to pan out, RB's usually play to their draft position and have their best years in those first 5.
  15. He's been winning my most hated NFL player award by a mile last few seasons. TBH Patriots passing attack will be totally useless without him. Chalk them up for a 2-2 or 1-3 start to the season. Then a 10-0 run to call off the year. Par for the course with the Patriots. Bills get September. Patriots get November Good God I'll throw a fit if he gets in the HOF He doesn't have the numbers!
  16. There's the bickering Bills tho too. A few immature young guns on that old roster. I think success covers any personality clashes, and losing makes these much more amplified and causes them to fight with each other. Don't think it affects the play. Think the play affects the media coverage and tantrums.
  17. These guys are not really helping my "skilled WRs get a bad rep" argument. This ain't Antonio Brown level bad though, I'll take up his cause.. he could simply be referring to his sign and trade, I don't think Giants brass really clued him in as to what they were doing with him this off season. As for the OBJ created the Giants brand.. well.. I'll just say that's obnoxious but not exactly wrong since OBJ's been a Giant. The dude turned into a rock-star and the Giants were a tire fire. Still super obnoxious thing to say. I hated the dude back when he threw his hissy fit with Gilmore though. He's not fun to watch when he turns the game into a tantrum. But when he's locked in.. ooh boy the plays he makes help remind me how much I love good football. I wish the Browns well. I hate seeing garbage teams play. It's good to see teams entertain.. unless they are the Patriots.
  18. That's fantastic. Good hustle to you and Augie.
  19. no use in giving him any more mileage than he wants preseason. Dude's a vet. They know how to start the season in form. And that's why they get the privilege to do that. Committed to Florida Atlantic. I actually believed you for a second. Thought that would have been super cool. Guess that adds up. Gore went to Miami U. Born in raised in Miami. Playing for the Dolphins while his son was in HS being recruited.
  20. The dude must have had a paid Twitter account or something. If so, I'd definitely love to follow him and get Bills alerts. Don't see a Twitter handle with 26CB out there. I miss the man. @26CornerBlitz we love you man. Please come back. I'm sorry if we ever hurt you. I'm just asking for a second chance. For an off-season thread.. this one's actually pretty great lol. I'm glad we've for the most part merged all Josh Allen talk on one thread instead of filling up most of the front page with JA factoids at the beginning of off-season. It was Two Josh Allen Drive in here for a while. The Josh Allen Wall.
  21. I find McKenzie overrated too. I think he just stood out as a servicable player in a really weak position group.. especially since we got him off the scrap heap and noticeably improved just from replacing guys that didn't even belong. His jet sweep was a nice play to add to the nothingness Holmes and Kelvin Benjamin brought to the table.. and Josh Allen really looks like he needs speed over anything. Our worst WR should be at McKenzie's level or better. There were games last year where I would have thought he was our second best. Don't mind if he goes because we've filled out the position. Don't mind if he stays as solid depth
  22. Ugh. Just awful. I never want to see Kelvin Benjamin plays again lol. His wingspan turned into the size of a T-Rex just there. And to think this was supposed to be the exact kind of guy we wanted for that play. Big Anquan Boldin type to catch in traffic and play physical and fearless. I hated the signing day 1 just because I hated his hands. But I at least thought he'd be a nice physical presence over the middle. I'm not even sure that was bad hands. That just looked like fear of the ball coming at him with a safety nearby. And don't get me started on his blocking. The man was a net negative from day 1. The hoard of Josh Allen playa hatas on this board need to know the TRUFF. Ya know cause there's so many of them. Tbh I think even those not sure about his accuracy think it's good enough considering the other attributes he displayed. Consensus seems either he's great at everything or he has some weaknesses that shouldn't limit him from winning games.. like ole' Favre. Not all the most effective quarterbacks had to have Drew Brees accuracy to have their heroics.
  23. Concentration, situational awareness, consistency, football IQ, all those good things. A guy can be very accurate, but getting to know your pass catchers.. needlessly throwing rockets to Charles Clay on crossing routes.. these are things that can improve your chance of getting a catch. I mean sure, a quarterback can throw a bullet to his FB 5 yards in the flat right on the money and see it dropped and he and all of us on the board can throw our hands up in the air and say it's not his fault. It's not the quarterback's fault on a play like that but he certainly didn't make it easier for anyone. He can still be BETTER. And that's certainly a rookie curve they need to learn in the NFL is knowing the pass catcher's ability. On 3rd and short when your primarily blocking TE3 is wide open, hips angled where he wants to catch the ball, you throw him a softball exactly where he wants it. That's what Drew Brees does for his less talented catchers.. he makes the tough throws for Michael Thomas if he doesn't see a guy that has a better chance of beating his man. Or another example, this reminds me of that missed TD throw to Zay Jones against a cover 0 in Miami.. I think everyone was on the same page that yes, Zay's route was supposed to have him slow down to catch the ball between the 2 safety zones.. but with no safeties and a man running behind Zay, I imagine Zay purposefully kept running making a hot route for an easier grab while JA bullets the ball behind him. Cam Newton probably threw 10 would-be TD passes in his MVP year that got dropped by Ted Ginn Jr., but he was aware of Ted's limitations, and kept throwing to him knowing his ability to get open was his strength and Cam's job was to make the catch as easy as possible for Ted. Ted finished with 10. Had his best year. Cam had his best year. The reason being that Cam adjusted to Ted's game. Probably the biggest reason for the completion % IMO. a) The receivers were mostly bad, and b) Josh Allen didn't always pay attention to his WR's abilities. I think it's a thing he will improve on, both with better receivers and more experience for Josh Allen. Especially the passes in the flats: the throws looked like really difficult grabs to even catch and get YAC. I know the common reply is just "these guys are paid to catch the ball they should catch it".. but no, they really aren't.. some made it in the NFL with exceptional skills in blocking, running, getting open.. not necessarily catching (I expected Zay to be exactly that though: a possession WR). Get to know your WRs.
  24. Right. The ranked players never go up against Bills so they don't always figure that out Maybe you can. But I think without Tyrod or JA's running threat these Bills teams could never possibly beat ranked teams. It's the only thing that moves the chains
  25. Haha got yourself a little Favre in you. I love throwing way across the field with Allen. It's effective. Gunslinger I'll usually find my wideout wherever he his. Defender AI let's it happen all game. Spam it until you see the other player switching to the middle looking to pick you
