  1. This post is a bummer haha. I don't give up on a team when they have a slogan I don't like and a horrid start to the season. Also this is really odd timing because it's starting to look like it could pan out by next year! That's a quick rebuild with a playoff appearance to boot bud. I just hate the name and what it stood for, like we were okay with punting this year away. Were we going to realistically make playoffs this year? Not likely, but I didn't need to be constantly reminded by that by the front office that had all the rhetoric and actions to back it up (like going into the season with Nathan Peterman and JA with zero offense around them to boot). That and the word soup we used with it because we didn't understand it lol. Came across as an excuse for the horrible first half of the season we went through. Honestly it's mostly because the 76ers beat the drum with astounding ineptitude lol. But whatever floats your boat McBeane! Ya won me over with more optimism for the next 2 years than I've probably ever had. Just don't chalk up any losses next year to the process.. don't make it your escape pls. Rebuild's pver we're onto better things! AND DON"T EVEN THINK ABOUT PUNTING NEXT YEAR AND IGNORING DESPERATE HELP AT OFFENSE FOR MY SANITY. We had a tough year boys, but I can feel it.. the optimism is palpable even with the skeptics! Keep on keeping on McBeane.
  2. Hahaha my coach would say the same thing when looking directly at overweight underperforming players. It's not a deep metaphor!
  3. Golly were we like this when EJ Had 2 good games in his rookie year?? Honestly don't remember but can we pump the breaks. A. You're jinxing Josh. B. This hyperbole is contagious and let's take it one season at a time (even if he doesn't win MVP next year). Expectations are going to drive us crazy.
  4. Good JA and secondary/Milano performances leading to wins: the blueprint for next year
  5. He DID throw wobblers outside of the last throw. Especially early in the game he was pretty useless. But he sticks with the game and gives me a belief that we have a fighting chance to win.. unlike Tyrod who I wrote off every. Damn. 5 minutes left needing a TD comeback. Anybody notice Allen is Tom Brady level at referee level b*****ing? Not a bad quality by any means. More gamesmanship and it's not like he doesn't get cheapshots. But he'll complain for EVERY technicality. Dude loves the can't land on you with full weight rule. Asks for it Everytime he goes down if the defender lands anywhere close to him lol
  6. we never give Hyde the lip service he deserves on here
  7. accuracy is like sinking 3 point shots off the dribble. Ya can't be a PG and have no ability to do it. but .350 plus is very nice arsenal to have in addition to arm power. That overthrow to Robert Foster was a 40% chance play JA hits it at this point in his career IMO. You take that shot all day given the reward vs probability.. not horrible, but it would be nice if he had a higher % there.
  8. welp Panthers fans lamented the same thing his last year there, so we pleasantly knocked on the door!
  9. He's a cross between Favre and Kaep IMO. Dude's a gunslinger that can run. I mean that's 1 less HOF player but whatever. Favre and Kaep were fun, sometimes frustrating and Favre can have a poor game, shake it off and have late game heroics throwing passes he has no business doing. Allen's fun, sometimes frustrating.. but most importantly fun!
  10. Well Fitz Tyrod and Flutie were better then RJ, JP, and EJ no? I mean they replaced them, played more games and all that. Otherwise I don't really know. All those guys came in as vets as opposed to JP, EJ, and Allen so they probably started quicker as well.. you know what nvm no we don't have a Napoleon complex lol, that makes absolutely no sense. We have a being burned by bad GFs (quarterbacks) complex.
  11. Oooh yeah. I don't care what y'all say Tannehill's just as much a winner.
  12. you got to use the pythagorean theorem here bud. Your 40 inch TV isn't 25x15. About 50 yards per your #s . But he was basically leaning backwards throwing at the most awkward angle spur of the moment. Impressive arm strength.
  13. It was man coverage no safeties. Zay doesn't know how much he burned his man, but he's not going to sit with no safeties and for all he knew a guy directly behind him full speed. That would be an interception/not-open-man had he not burned his man so bad and stopped. That route goes out the window in cover zero. I'm sure it was play design and all that, but Zay did the right thing there staying open. NBD but miscommunication happens. WRs shouldn't stop in that situation. I'm not saying Allen was inaccurate. Just was going by the play design and not adjusting to how the play had developed.. that's super hard at game speed but will be TDs in the future when Allen gets more chemistry with knowing where his WRs want the ball in certain situations. Fitz always read that knowing Stevie was going to go where the play took him. Saavy vet move with solid chemistry with Stevie.
  14. Thing is this really shouldn't be hard for WRs. They should love broken plays where they can get wide open and ACTUALLY ADJUST TO CATCH THE BALL. Honestly where Clay was going.. he didn't want or expect the ball and as soon as the throw goes up he's thinking "oh crap he actually saw me and got air on it. Didn't see that coming! I'm an overpaid blocking tight end I'm going to screw this up."
  15. dude hates his check down reads... especially the flats, always progresses to the second immediately.
  16. yep. Just because that was the play design, Zay was running the right route.. why would a receiver want to sit knowing he has a man chasing him and daylight ahead. JA's gotta know the route is going to change in man coverage, no safeties around him.. just a rookie thing, live and learn.
  17. Once Kiko had his back to him he just hid behind him when he turned and then just shoved him out of the way when he wanted to start steam rollin
  18. Steelers are gonna implode real quick at the rate Big Ben's leadership is going
  19. You're killing yourself! Haha
  20. Reminds me of Brett Favre with a little Kaep sprinkled in. Makes for a fun, sometimes frustrating Quarterback. I'll take it!
  21. Had all the time in the world to adjust and he cannot expect at that point in the play that JA can reasonably get that much air on the ball where he was heading scrambling to one side to throw cross field on the other.
  22. Great common sense post!
  23. Yeah I don't think he's all that bad. I don't expect him to make that catch anyway but. For his pay we should.
